As much as I would love Galliano to head to Fendi or possibly returning back to Dior. But personally, i think the best fit for Galliano would be his namesake. The collections he created during his tenure at Margiela, was more so Galliano than Margiela. It’s sad to see that all of these beautiful collections become tied to the Maison Margiela than his own
This is really good take, It would have been an epic moment in fashion if it was revealed he was going to chanel. But I also thought burberry so he can turn the brand around and make it top tier again. However I agree with you he should work own his own brand
Margiela is retired, McQueen transitioned, Galliano is who we still have here, Galliano is better doing his own brand name, and to link with some American Black inner city connections to create hype, which will draw the suburban crowd in, he can use his edgy designs with a mixture of street edge and suburban designs, and not take designing too serious this time to drive him crazy, he can also work and help at Gucci and bring attention to his brand and more attention to Gucci
I love John Galliano see as creative director at JEAN PAUL GAULTIER.. Gaultier & Galliano are the same aesthetics of designing.. quirky, couture & fantastic
but another rumors another name attached to be the creative director of FENDI is Jonathan Anderson.. because Jonathan Anderson one of the main designers at LVMH that owned Anderson's fashion house JW ANDERSON..
the JOHN GALLIANO fashion brand is still around.. just doing ready-to-wear clothes sometimes doing a references of Galliano's previous work at other fashion house
I really hope he goes back to his namesake brand. His RTW collections from the '80s and '90s are peak creativity-not just in design but also in the innovative cuts and draping technique. I even prefer those than his Dior RTW, considering the resources he had at the time. Dior’s budget was on a completely different level, but he still managed to create pieces that were just as stunning. Of course, the question of commercial viability is a whole other story.
5:09 Galliano creates masterpieces but he has really tried to talk to the common consumer. He's a Karl Lagerfeld type but nobody pressured KL to be relatable but they keep on pressuring JG to be.

I think he’s probably going to The Gap to replace Zac Posen.
Let John come to de La Renta!
