    Regardless of whether Galliano joins or not, a lot of their customers no longer trust Dior to make high quality garments bags that are ethically made. In the name of profit, they’ve committed human rights violations and lied to their customers. They need take accountability by admitting fault, changing their policies and procedures and show that they’ve changed by being transparent.

    It's not redemption, it's marketing. And it's not only Dior who's producing in sweatshops--plenty of vids on that.

  • @BrighterThanYours
    @BrighterThanYours 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

    Dior isn’t going to do much to dispel the sweatshop controversy because all of these brands use the same tactics. The others simply haven’t been caught yet. The crazy part is they’re making more money than they ever have and still penny pinching for the bottom line. The employees in these brands can’t even afford to buy the bags they’re making. That’s insane. Chanel is next for some sort of exposé

  • @canadiandiva7603

    I would prefer that John Galliano took over the house of Chanel and breathe new life to it. Certainly, Dior has caused controversy with the latest news about unethical treatment and practices of its employees, in addition to the cost of the book tote being only $57 and selling for close to $5K. I would also like to mention that I do not believe this is a problem isolated to Dior. I am sure other fashion houses are doing the same thing. There is so much hypocrisy. More transparency and accountability is needed.

      Look at Pharrell with the P9 Speedy, you know thats £250/300 to make. But it has a 9K price tag. It’s not right what they are doing, pushing the price increases. Seriously I have seen better craftsmanship lately from a DHGate bag.

    I believe in 2nd chances if the person is truly sorry. To me, JG is truly sorry for what he said in 2011. He owned what he said and took action to show how sorry he was. I'm tired of people not being forgiving to those who are truly sorry! They won't admit to their own terrible actions and refuse to acknowledge that they are no better than him. We all have done/said things we regret. It's only the people who mean their apologies will admit this. The rest refuse to look at themselves.

    I want JG to do his namesake brand and solidify his legacy. In recent interviews, he's been preaching about slowness in fashion, it would be contradictory to go back to Dior.

    I truly believe MGC at Dior is doing a tremendous job with the couture and RTW for quite sometime. Many would disagree.
    Perhaps, it’s time for a relaunch of JG’s own label with LVMH. He definitely has paved his way to deserve it.

    I cannot see Galliano go back to Dior. Seeing Dior’s current situation. I feel like maybe accepting Galliano back could maybe lead to a new controversy maybe? Also I cannot see Maria Grazia anywhere else. I feel like she has solidified the new image for Dior since Galliano had left. I’m also not the biggest fan of her work. But I can appreciate that she is consistent with her vision and reinterpreting the bar jackets and chiffon each season. I also think having a new creative director for Dior can also possibly mean new brand ambassador changes that better suit/embody the new creative director’s vision?

    First of all John doesn’t need Dior; they need him
    He doesn’t need LVMH whatsoever
    They need him
    And quite frankly LVMH needs to return his namesake label back to him if they want to do right by him! They publicly disgraced him and tarnished his image and now all of the sudden you want him back🙄

    Always has been and always will be as king as she’s in control!!

    Good for Dior if it's true. Maria Grazia's stuff is just so boring. A lot of talented artists are "problematic" by today's standards. I happen to love Woody Allen and Roman Polanski, especially their earlier work. I think it takes some maturity to separate the art from the creator, who is a human being, and by definition can't be perfect.

    John Galliano may be creative, but he is a hater of humans, 12 years ago he was charged and fined for an anti-Semitic drunk rant on two Italian woman who were having dinner in a French cafe. So whether creative or not, he's a bad human. LVMH is clearly desperate, no one wants to buy from him. Margiela is because people who remember him, don't want to buy anything that he has created.
