For me it’s the Ampeg. Most people might chose the TC electronic because of the low end, but low end can be deceiving. I play a Mark Bass amp and I dial back on the bass volume, depending on the room that I’m in.
I bought a BG-500 about fifteen years ago online from Bass Northwest (dating myself here). The guy on the line suggested this amp over all of TC’s smaller and more expensive compact amps. And it was significantly cheaper (Some salesmen will give good advice, I guess). It’s been my only amp since then. It’s not too heavy or awkward, it KICKS and it actually sounds great for vintage style and modern styles basses, active or passive. Add in the built-in tuner and I really don’t need anything else for gigging other than a small gear cart.
I got BG500 for cheap too! I think I paid around $300 for it on clearance at Guitar Center back in 2010. I went to Home Depot afterward and bought a folding hand truck to roll it around. You're right - It totally KICKS!! I don't think I've ever turned it up past 3 - It's a low-end frequency that will amputate your legs if you're not careful. I'm with you and the tuner and love the aux in with the headphone out. Great combo amp!
@@progrockjock Used to play every weekend with this thing, so it paid itself off QUICKLY. I don’t think I’ll need to get another amp for at least another fifteen years.

I would be satisfied using the TC for gigging, but to my ears the SVT just can’t be beat.

Oops, this past me by. Hard to hear nuances without using a large diaphragm condenser mic. Good vid brother.
You're making me stay up way too late! The TC has a great tone but I prefer the SVT. No losers in this pairing.
