    Do not use a hammer or chisel use a 15/16 socket on the clutch flower nut!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Works so much better and you do not beat up your clutch flower nut!

    I just finished assembling my bike but when i tried to pedal it, it was very difficult like the clutch was engaged even when I held the clutch lever. So then I adjusted the clutch like in the video and now it spins freely all the time and won't engage.
    any suggestions BikeBerrycom ?

    Nice vid Guys I have also had two engines recently a 48cc GT2B and 66ccGT5 where the plate was just stuck to the clutch pads and used a small slotted screw driver to unstick it by gently prying around the radius of the plate .

    Power loss is generally due to the carburetor not being adjusted properly. When you twist for more power, the carburetor is trying to feed more fuel and air through a small jet.

      Hey i found an easy fix. Just tighten ur chain and tensioner as much as possible and make sure they dont come loose. Because once it gets loose ur chain gets jammed up inside the clutch sprocket.

    Issues? Please check that clutch pads are loosely fitted in clutch plate. Clean the clutch plates (only) with brake cleaner. Also look up how to increase main clutch spring tension. After hours of adjustments, these changes started up my bike in 3 seconds.

    In all fairness, it's true that the 2-stroke engine kits or "china girls" need fine tuning. I can't speak for most other stores, but we offer a 6 month parts exchange warranty. We understand how these engines work and will work with you in making sure you get your parts to get your engine running smooth.

    if I am replacing my square like clutch pads with new ones, which direction do the new clutch pads go in? One side of my pads look checkered and the other side is black......and what if the holes seem alittle too small for the actual pads to fit in.? Is this common? and what do you suggest to make the pads small enough to fit?

    • @bikeberrycom6539
      @bikeberrycom6539 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Black side up. It's normal that the holes are smaller than the actual pads because they need to fit very snug in them. What you can do is sand down the sides lightly then, firmly press them down into the holes.

  • @KoolBreeze420
    @KoolBreeze420 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Personally, I would use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove that nut, not a hammer and screwdriver. There is something odd about my clutch setup right now not sure if the cable needs to be tightened or if that nut that you took off with the hammer needs to be loosened.
    I had no friction at all thought my clutch pads were toast but when I got into it I realised that the pads are fine and only needed to be tightened a bit but I had to turn that nut to a spot where I could put the screw in and now I think it may be too tight either that or the cable has slipped, any input would be well-received thanks.
    Also, can anyone tell me how you can test a boost bottle to see if it is doing anything?

    • @bluckq
      @bluckq 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      you remove the top nuts and take off the head first, then pull out the head gasket. Then pull out the cylinder be careful as the piston will be there and just pull it out and Piston should be exposed. The piston has a hole in the middle with a wire there. you need needle nose pliers(Google it they are common tools). and you need to remove the wire. then remove the clutch pin and then you'll easily be able to pull out the piston. the bearings will be in the middle of the rod. you can replace if you wish. that's it put it back together the hardest part is putting back the wire clip in the piston.

    That's the first time I've heard of that problem. If it doesn't effect your flower nut negatively, you may want to file down the clutch pin. Please do so at your own discretion though, as we are not reliable for this advice. PLEASE NOTE: do so ONLY if it doesn't affect the flower nut negatively, as in, it causes the flower nut to sit and screw back on the clutch pin improperly.

    I'm a 72 yr. old female riding my Dewey motorized bike for about three days and all of a sudden the chain seems to lock up and breaks. Do I just fix it with a master link and try to start it or do I have to take the chain off and how do I take it off? Do I have to take the cover off of the part where the chain goes through? Does the locking up have to do with the clutch, as shown in this video?

      Theodora Czarnecki Hi Theodora, it could be 1 of 4 things. 1. Your chain may be getting stuck on the drive sprocket. (watch this video) 2. Your chain may not be aligned th-cam.com/video/LvLPprywSPk/w-d-xo.html 3. Your chain tension may not be correct th-cam.com/video/LvLPprywSPk/w-d-xo.html 4. Your idler pulley may have been deformed while riding, be sure it runs smooth.

      BikeBerrycom Before I rode the bike my brother in law tightened everything and had to fix some wires, as he was not getting any spark (some wires were backward) and did adjust the clutch, but he went home (up north and I am in Florida), so I am going to try and follow the video. He showed me a few things to do on it, but I"ll put the computer next to the bike. Although I have a Ph.D in Nursing, I'm not the sharpest tack when it comes to this stuff. Thank you for your help.

    I have a different problem. The rod that sits at the center of the drive sprocket is permanently depressed, leaving the engine always engaged. It can come out like it should but does not spring out from the engine

      Before adjusting the clutch, make sure the drive chain isn't installed. You need to make sure the clutch is disengaged fully.

    Hi Bike Berry, I find your vids very helpful. I have built 5 of these Grubee Skyhawk kits now, and sell them. The last 48 cc I did has a rattling noise in the clutch area. Now I have heard this is "normal" sometimes the pressure plate is out of round or something like that? I haven't opened it up yet, but do you have any suggestions on what that rattling might be? the nut loose maby? The engine and clutch work except the clutch will not engage until the clutch lever is almost ALL the way out. On my 66cc it is not like that. I will try and adjust it this weekend and see if anything is loose in there, but your opinion would be greatly appretiated!

    • @bikeberrycom6539
      @bikeberrycom6539 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like something might be loose. Check the clutch pressure plate, the flower nut as well as the small bevel gear. How long have you had it and how long have you been running it?

    Remeber too also check your gears for any foreign objects before puting the cover back on. Even the tinniest shard of metal with really screw up the internals of a and engine.

      i imagine a comment on this 9 months on is probably pointless but hooking a spanner around one of the studs and jamming it against another (then turning) could give the needed leverage to turn the dooberywhatsit.

      Andrew Brady Just finished installing the engine on my bike last night. Probably will take it out on its test run this weekend, then new tires and tubes will get installed as well. Can't wait to get this engine going, tired of paying $50 a week for gas in my truck.

      That sounds like a possible realignment issue or an issue with the crank bearings that's causing it to sit unevenly. Did you order the engine from us?

      Adjusting your carburetor may help that. I don't know how long you've had your motor, so it's a little hard to diagnose, but if you aren't familiar with carburetor settings or if the engine is brand new, I recommend checking your choke, the fuel line, the breather valves on the gas cap, and the jet needles inside the carb.

    • @LostForestReptiles
      @LostForestReptiles 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ok so its like 4 days old just started for the first time today but when i slow down or pull in the clutch lever it revs the engine really high and doesnt want to stop and the the wing nut thing keep tightening back up to where i cant pedal every time i ride it so i loosen it i start the engine but it tightens again

      ya i checked and i am getting spark...at first my clutch wasn't engaging and the drive sprocket wasn't turning, i'm readjusting it so maybe that's the problem

    • @bikeberry
      @bikeberry  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      MrJabber22 Awesome! Keep us updated. I recommended also double checking the small bevel wheel and making sure it's pumping the piston up and down.
