This brought me to tears. I'm a large guy with heart issues and I love to dance. When I was younger I was involved in community theater and participated in a swing dance contest in high school and I was once a young healthy man but I have dealt with depression, addictions, and severe health issues because of bad luck and bad decisions. I haven't danced in a long time, but maybe I should. I'd burn some calories and strengthen my heart.
I know a guy who's also overweight and was laughed at by people on concerts on numerous occasions. He apparently has the exact same taste in music as I and a few of my friends do so we met him a few times at smaller punkrock shows before Covid hit and talked a bit, drank a few beers together before the shows etc. He's also a regular at the convenience store I work at and one day he came to me there and thanked me and my friends for treating him differently. Apparently we empowered him to not just stand all the way back at concerts but stand in front of the stage and even mosh a bit sometimes. This story reminded me a lot of him but on a larger scale. Love to see it!
Good for you bro. If you can't be yourself at a punk rock show then he must have some real insecurity issues...you definitely had a profound impact on the dude. 🙏
this is too wholesome for me. He’s getting bullied by like 4 people and then a day later everyone is supporting him and then gets thrown a party. I love this dude, his story brings the happiness in me.
This honestly hit me hard. I’m a bit of a bigger person myself (I’m actively working on slimming down so no worries there) so seeing the internet come together to support a guy like the dancing man really brightened up my day. There are a lot of days where I feel like I’m always being judged by other people and it makes me feel anxious and worried about doing certain things. Seeing that the internet can rally around a guy like him makes me feel a lot more confident that I shouldn’t be worried about being judged about my appearance and continuing to work on bettering myself. Thanks for sharing this story wavy, you made my day a little brighter.

This is one of the best examples of how random 4chan actually is. One day they create a fat shaming thread, just to create an anti-fat shaming revolution the very next day.
Thats why its a shame when people go after image boards. True greatness can only come from the chaotic cesspool of freedom. Most of it is spastic bullshit, but every once in awhile you can see a spark of potential that grows into a wildfire of glory.

Fat people do it to themselves. They're not born that way. Guy should eat some vegetables. Fat shaming should happen more often, maybe we can save some lives.
It's seems like 4-chan had an odd and specific honor code. It's Interesting to see pockets of the internet, even infamously hostile ones, develop it's own culture and social faux pas.
Well I think it's actually quite simple and quite human, they troll the obnoxious and the self righteous, and they'll help when they can, anyone who is at the bottom. Ultimately people on 4 Chan aren't monsters, they're people with normal human values, even if hidden behind a veneer of cynicism, and autistic objectivity.
The power of the internet is incredible at times. The fact that depending on the transition and mood of users at any given moment, they can create or destroy anything pretty quickly, for better or worse.
It's really the power of collectives, which is already what has been behind every social movement and major event in history, even long before the internet. It's just that the internet privides us with an easier way to organize into collectives with shared goals, and we don't even need to be in the same physical location anymore. When enough people work together for the same reasons, there's pretty much nothing that can't be accomplished, whether for good or evil. All the more reason to become a force of good in the world.
There's a difference between making fun of someone and seeing someone that is genuinely hurt by your actions and get satisfaction out of their unhappiness.
That second picture really hurts to see. Dude just wanted to have some fun and dance, but some asshole had to ruin it. I’m sure he’s fully aware of his size and had probably been bullied for it before (because people suck sometimes), but you know it stings every time it happens. I’m glad Twitter and 4chan actually were able to do something good for someone who didn’t deserve to be mocked for trying to have a bit of fun. It shows that there are still good people out there with compassion who want to do something nice for someone when they can, and with everything going on these days that can break your spirit and hope in humanity, it’s a really good and important thing to remember.

Gosh man, right in the feels. I'm a dance instructor here in my city and one of the things I always tell my students is that dancing is for everyone. Even more so, dancing is all about having a good time and letting go. I would be absolutely livid if someone was being mocked or bullied for dancing in our scene. I had seen this story before, but I didn't know this party was thrown for him. First time seeing this. You've got a new subscriber bro.
Dancing is also such a self-conscious action for a lot of people. To this day I only dare to dance at home in my living room, even though I've never had an awkward way of moving... once bullied for whatever reason, it is easy to lose confidence when people look at you. It's a vile thing to do and it's inspiring that he got picked back up.
Dancing is universal and belongs to no one. We are richer and better as people for the beauty we are given through other's movement. From a near lifelong dancer.
The fitness community is really awesome. They hate the "fat-acceptance" crap that's being pushed on the slaves (this population) these days, but if you so much as pick up a 2lb dumbbell, they will encourage you. They want you to be healthier and happier, even if you're 600lbs. They don't hate fat people; they hate fat acceptance.
Oh man, I remember seeing the #FindDancingMan campaign take off in real time as a teen. I just got a phone call that I was rejected for a dream job, so this was a wonderful pick-me-up. Thank you.
@Zig Zag “can never be happy again.” I truly hope you can find it is what you’re looking for, money will ease the burden of finance for sure, but it will never take away sadness. Money dries tears all the same as the shirt on your back.
The coolest thing about the whole anti-bullying trend (hopefully it's just the new norm) is that they aren't trying to stick a middle finger in the face of the bully, just the behavior. To Cassandra's point, she said she'd just want to welcome them in. Dope video and dope story. Definitely got me there.
I remember seeing his picture and actually feeling really sad at it. I had not idea until seeing this that a major party was thrown for him and it makes me legitimately happy to see
As someone who is big and actively trying to lose weight. This story make me very happy to see there is still humanity in this world. And for people to come together and support you for who you are.
I seriously thought it was going to be another murder case when you put "Bullied Man Gets The Last Laugh" and "4chan" in the same title. It's nice to hear something uplifting every once in a while.
Those ratios are a little gracious from what I've witnessed. My question is if people are actually that way of if an anonymous space exacerbates the behaviours of both Cringe and Edge lords?
I absolutely adore stories like this. Sticking it to the bullies and standing up for the right thing really restores my faith in humanity and pushes the belief that some of us are truly wonderful people. Couldn’t be happier and wouldn’t stop smiling for him. Groove on, big man!
I'll never understand the bully's mentality. Like how do you feel better about yourself knowing that you're making somebody else's life hell? How can you go to sleep at night with that hanging over your head? I'll never get it...
Because by putting someone else's down they will feel like they aren't such a massive loser after all. In other words, they do it to make up for their own insecurities
I am overweight now due to mental and physical stress and I always loved dancing and encouraged folks to do so... I remember hearing about this and that guy didn't deserve the bullying... We should always do this no matter what gender and race someone is I'm glad this turned out nicely.

Wavy, this video hits the feels man. This, right here, is what I wanted to see from this channel. Something negative that turned into something positive. Much love, Brother.
4chan is really more about free speech above all else. Harassing someone IRL when they aren't bothering anyone, just trying to enjoy themselves, that's never been cool.
Well, the reason why 4Chan is seen as "Chaotic Neutral". One hand really no one gives a fuck and will make fun of anything and everyone. While the other. If it ends up harming the platform. They will put a stop to it. So yes, there was a fat shaming thread but let us be real. If a dude who is overweight wants to dance. Then, you let the dude dance. You do not fat shame a guy that wants to just have fun. As even a good Chaotic Neutral just wants to have fun. So DANCE PARTY!
Ironically 4chan users, despite self-proclaiming themselves as autists, have more self awareness compared to users of other platforms like Reddit/Twitter/Discord/etc.
Because the whole point of the fat shaming thread seemed to be aimed at the types who are morbidly obese, and still call themselves healthy. That, and they also have an incredibly low chance of seeing it. Massive difference between actively laughing someone off the dance floor, and making fun of them online, in a place they'll likely never see.

From what I understand, they were making fun of people that would actively destroy themselves and not give them selves any chance to get back to a healthy standard of living. This man who was dancing, was happy, was living life in the moment, and didn’t let his weight hold him down like many others would in his situation. Fat positivity for the sake of cuddling and hiding people from sad truths is bad. Fat positivity for the sake of "hey hes trying to lose weight lets support him" is awesome!
Completely agree. Fat positivity for the sake of saying “you’re beautiful” and deluding yourself is bad, but positivity for those working and trying to lose weight? Great.

This almost made me cry, it's so sweet. Seeing so many people come together with so much compassion makes me happy. People don't know what it's like dealing with weight issues. It's different for every person, but it's always a huge struggle. It's more than just eating too much, it's a symptom of a bad relationship with food. I've been big my whole life, and my parents were, too. They would cook these huge meals that would make us big, then tell me that it was up to me to lose the weight. I had no control, no understanding, and no say in the matter. It didn't really matter how much I exercise or work out if I come home to a 2400 calorie a serving casserole for dinner. Even today I struggle to break those habits that I had learned over 18 years. All it takes is one bout of depression for all that progress to collapse.
Except it's really not for 90% of the time. Sometimes it's just fun to be an asshole. Maybe it is if someones entire life is devoted to being an online troll. But otherwise most the time it's more akin to killing people in a video game.

The problem I have with your comment is that it's double edged... You say "someone who's trying to improve themselves" as opposed to someone "shoving food into his gullet" as if to say if this WAS what he was doing, the hate would be justified... It's almost as if you're TRYING to be a decent human being but are inherently unable to...(or perhaps just unable to express yourself like a decent human being?) I mean, the second picture was enough to make me tear up. So little room to have joy in the world, why can't people just mind their own business and live and let live
I think the reason WHY everyone piled on them and threw the party for him was because of how heart broken and depressed he looked in the 2nd photo. he was having fun and then he gets degraded to the point of depression and you can see the progression.

The line "fat people is a burden to society" is ironic, In 4chan, you can take it either way, a joke or serious but at the end it's all gonna be fill with memes
What I understood was, make fun. Of people that damage themselves and no damage them
well most people on 4Chan never had a job, girlfriend, are overweight and live with 35 in their mothers basement I highly doubt anything those animals say is to be taken serious lol
From what I understand, they were making fun of people that would actively destroy themselves and not give them selves any chance to get back to a healthy standard of living. This man who was dancing, was happy, was living life in the moment, and didn’t let his weight hold him down like many others would in his situation. Crushing that spirit would be the line to this, it wasn’t about crushing spirits it was about mocking how illogical the self eating serpent is, hence most of the photos that were deemed acceptable were of people effectively eating themselves to death.

Fat positivity for the sake of cuddling and hiding people from sad truths is bad.
Fat positivity for the sake of "hey hes trying to lose weight lets support him" is awesome!
there is also fat positivity for making them feel more confident in their own skin if they cant be confident why would they go to the gym
Completely agree. Fat positivity for the sake of saying “you’re beautiful” and deluding yourself is bad, but positivity for those working and trying to lose weight? Great.

@@astrojames5770 because they could literally die
@@him1517 I agree to an extent, a bunch of people can't lost weight because of their body type, and trying to lose weight would mean they have to resort to methods that include harming themselves and destroying their bodies in the first place. Which isn't something we should be promoting because the whole cause is to keep people healthy.
If you're perfectly healthy, you're body is fine the way it is. As long as you aren't losing the weight you're supposed to have to achieve whatever thinspo or thin beauty expectations, and you're doing it in a way that isn't harming your body, please do as you wish.

“The kind of people who do these things are probably in pain themselves.” Cliche but it’s so true.
Some cliches are like some stereotypes, based on common truths
Probably because they’re being mocked now. And good work. You sided with the idea that two wrongs make a right.
I was scrolling down and reading comments while watching this video and they said this exact line as I found this comment.
Except it's really not for 90% of the time. Sometimes it's just fun to be an asshole. Maybe it is if someones entire life is devoted to being an online troll. But otherwise most the time it's more akin to killing people in a video game.
Honestly some people aren't in pain, they're just assholes for the sake of being assholes.
That picture is one of the few things I’ve seen in my 29 years that cuts through the dead blackness of my heart and makes me weep like a fucking baby.
Humanity at it's finest, Cassandra hits on it but you just know those who take the piss out of others for whatever reason are sad or angry at themselves for something else.
Go on big man.
I'd seen this before, enjoyed it enough to want to see it again! What a sweet guy too, and thanks to all....including you.
That picture of him smiling at the LA party was so heartwarming! He looked so happy!
Bullying really hurts. Glad to see this guy was shown love. He did nothing to deserve that treatment. Loved seeing people stand up for him like that! Encouraging video.
Should never diss on someone who's trying to improve themselves, whoever slowly it may be. He was dancin' and trying to enjoy himself. Slowburning that weight off. He wasn't shoving food into his gullet or whatever, no reason to shit on him whatsoever.
I think we need more one on one contact in our society. People forget that it's easy to hurt other people's feelings. This video is awesome BTW
Only miserable people do that. Like the kind that would refer to itself as alpha or some shit lol
I agree. By the way I fuckin love your profile pic!! Thane is such a great character in mass effect
The problem I have with your comment is that it's double edged...
You say "someone who's trying to improve themselves" as opposed to someone "shoving food into his gullet" as if to say if this WAS what he was doing, the hate would be justified... It's almost as if you're TRYING to be a decent human being but are inherently unable to...(or perhaps just unable to express yourself like a decent human being?)
The simple fact is that regardless of whether this man was trying to improve himself, shoving food down or simply existing in the moment and trying to enjoy himself...who are we to try to tear him down or look down on him?
Just...let...people...live...
@@BendApparatus Believe and see what you want homie lmao, I clearly wasn't implying that he was doing that.
And how would someone being unable to express in the manner you think is proper imply that someone is indecent? You have some flawed logic homie lmao
This was so heartwarming. I'm glad he got to have that experience after being so crushed emotionally. I love this ❤️
I think it's really interesting that even 4chan when they see the effect that their mean spirited criticisms have on people that he can change their minds. It's easy to make fun when you just see the picture of the person smiling with a bunch of food it's a lot harder to make fun when you see the person experiencing actual emotional pain.
I’m willing to bet money on that not being the case.

That is amazing. The picture of the poor man looking sad just broke my heart. He was minding his own business and having fun. He wasn't hurting anyone. But after hearing about the party I was so happy for him! He seems like a really sweet and humble guy and I wish him the best in life.
Him looking down at the ground in that picture rips my heart out. How can anyone make someone feel that way. How could anyone not do anything for someone who is in that position regardless of knowing who they are or not.
Exactly... and I know men his size are extremely self conscious already, and for him to try and have fun and dance anyways only to be mocked out loud is heart crushing.
I mean, the second picture was enough to make me tear up.
The fact that even 4channers got upset at this, just shows.
