100 percent agree with Taimoor and thanks for sharing such inside on Pakistans economy. But I have a different point of view about privatisation, it is best to privatize power generation but do it sensibaly, the government of Pakistan made extremely bad contract with IPPs. The IPPS made no improvement in the last 30 years and why would they, when they are getting paid regardless of what happens, this is extremely negligence on Pakistani governments for last 30 years. The IPPS were given a free hand, regardless what the power generation will cost the government will take the burden to pay for it.
Pakistani government can not cancel these ipp contract, but since these IPPs have made so much blenders, over billing, and not taking any efficient measures to improve the production, the technology is now available why havent they made any improvements in the power generation infustructure, so for this reason the contract can be canceled. Renegotiate to get the same rate as wapda is producing electric power.
What are we afraid of, contacts get cancelled all the time, it's part of doing business, we have a strong case against them, first they are producing at a very high cost, secondly they have failed to improve electric production infustructure for last 30 years, 3rdly they over bill.

Very well explained. I will add that they all ignored the circumstances the first project, Hubco, was set up. Law and order problem, no foreign investment, looming energy shortfall. To attract investors, a unique 18% IRR was offered. Tragically, successive civilian and military governments followed a more or less copy and paste policy of the original continued regardless of circumstances. Copy and paste policies, but no negotiations due to changed circumstances. This has been Pakistan's undoing.

AA sir. Kindly also make a video analysing the prospects of Katzarah Dam in Swat as well as Bungee Dam downstream.
According to "The News" report published in March, 2023, a Russian consortium has already offered to build it. It will generate a staggering 15,000 MW of electricity while Bungee Dam has a capacity of another 7500 MW.
These dams can change the economic landscape of Pakistan singlehandedly. We'll save billions of dollars in fuel imports, the cheapest hydro electricity will make manufacturing easier and thus make our exports more competetive.
People of Skardu and other affectees will have to be given generous compensation and there are some other considerations as well. Would love to hear your say on this.
    JazakAllah in advance!

Sir you people can do the best
You know sir army is searching for a ground and possible solution to all the evils, cries, and problems of socio-economic which have been faced by the country for decades. You people (the left) should fill the vacuum left by the capitalist class and family politics. This is the ground reality. You people have to bring a mild socialist revolution in Punjab, which determines the fate of the nation. But remember this can be materialized only by strong and real slogans that can transform and shape the majority proletarian (worker class) perception of power, social development, and empowerment. Strong rhetoric can produce bedlam in the streets of the most socially underdeveloped nation- which may spur capitalist begrudge against socialst class.
Behind the ballyhoo created by polarized politics in the country Pakistan's politics and its people are ready to balk the family politics and the capitalist system. Best of luck. I Rizwan danish from FATA for the first time registered myself in the Mazdoor Kisan party through the Mobile SMS service which was available before the general election in 2018 and 13 when I was in school and then at University respectively. It is my fortune that makes me your all-weather student. ❤️

Salaam Taimur Saheb. Even if I were to agree with your stand regarding privatisation being the "be all and end all" of destruction of our economy and socio economic structure, I have no hesitation in saying that Bhutto's nationalisation of education was solely responsible in completely ruining the standard of education in our country and we have not yet fully recovered from that setback . If you were to just do a survey of the abhorrent competence levels of teachers in our government schools, especially in Sindh, you would definitely agree with me that this move on Bhutto's part was the greatest blow to our country. Of course the elite schools where the children of all of the ministers and politicians and top bureaucrats and army brass were not nationalised.

    1. First we should nationalise the basic sectors of our economy, eg, power, oil, etc.
    2. Secondly, we should maintain those sectors under China Pakistan Development Program.
Third, we must take Europeans into confidence, so they don't disrupt our development program anytime.
First 2 tasks may be easier to attain, but third task above depends on their consent and conditions.

Issue is not the system or model, issue is with the people running that model. Even the sectors that are not privatised they also failed miserably. So its not about which system you adopt, its about the itegrity with which we run or govern the model.
