AMERICAN ROBIN & STARLINGS TAKING A BATH UNDER SPRINKLER

WATCH in 'HIGH QUALITY' if you can!!!
When I came to turn off the sprinkler in front of the house, I froze in mid-step as I saw some 20 ROBINS and about 5 STARLINGS taking turns splashing thru a puddle that had formed under the sprinkler. I hastily retreated to get my camera and filmed what you see here thru the front door mail slot!
NOTE the squabbling among the species and amongst each other about who gets to use the puddle next!
Some time in July, Robins, Grackles and Starlings had just VANISHED and I was afraid that they had fallen victim to West Nile Virus. Seems they had just departed for greener pastures and returned the morning of Sept. 22, 2008: they were eager for a drink and a bath to wash the 'travelling' dust off their feathers. They had such a good time that I couldn't bring myself to turn off the sprinkler!
SOMETIMES THERE IS SUCH UNEXPECTED MAGIC IN THE MORNING! I was sooo happy to see my friends again and know that they were okay! :))) As of to date, they are still around, but I expect them to leave Chicago soon to avoid our nasty winter...
