    I did mine today,I had to remove the batter,air filter box and battery tray.And it was still hard to do.But it finished and I'm kicking back with a beer.

      Yes, but I had to log in about 50 miles or so to have the computer diagnostic itself. Ran like a champ after that.

    Thanks for posting this video! I have an 04 SXT which keeps randomly turning the oil pressure light and the chime that comes with it on and off. I didn't have a clue where to look for that sensor and I sure didn't know it would take that super special socket! You really helped me out.

    why does it have only one wire?

  • @tkers7021
    @tkers7021 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I had an incredibly difficult time finding it, then pulling off the connector. Use a mirror and flashlight to find it. It tucks under a ledge and has one wire to it. You will see the bright yellow in the mirror. You can get one hand on it but my fingers couldn't get it to budge. I finally grabbed it with a small vise grip, worked it up and down, and it pulled off. Then removing the sensor with the socket was easy. Thanks for video

    Is this the transmission oil pressure sensor if not do you know we’re it is I got a code for p0871.

    • @itsfiascoyo0387
      @itsfiascoyo0387  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jose Rodriguez No it’s a sensor for the engine oil in your motor. The oil pressure sensor is a basic electrical switch that provides information to the instrument cluster’s oil pressure gauge with the accurate real-time pressure.

    • @itsfiascoyo0387
      @itsfiascoyo0387  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jose Rodriguez that P0871 code identifies a problem with the pressure of the fluid inside of the transmission. You might have a leak or low T-Fluid.

    I'm trying to figure out if it's actually the sensor in my Neon that's bad. Mine is a 2003, after I get off the highway and stop at a red light/stop sign my low oil pressure light comes on. But when I get off my brakes and start going the light goes back off :/

    • @nates.4232
      @nates.4232 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lycanroc395 that's what it sounds like, mine was doing the same thing now it's on almost all the time. Should have blown up by now if there was no oil pressure but the engine is smooth and quiet

      mattallica 89 actually no it's not, in fact it's harder if not impossible to get to it. It's in a very cluttered spot. I have found the best way to go thru the top. It's a pain but it will be less stressful going in from the top.

    • @jnunez1203
      @jnunez1203 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the top its easier on access than the buttom due to the cross member support kind of blocking it...really tight room.

  • @osumbuckeyenut
    @osumbuckeyenut 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    if that is Teflon tape I'm seeing being extruded out around the sensor, that will give you problems later on because you're not giving it a good ground to the engine block. It's okay to put some on the threads but if it is outside where the sensor seats flush on the engine, it will prevent a good ground

  • @priscillascott8098
    @priscillascott8098 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @itsfiascoyo0387

      edward moriarty I replaced it due to my oil pressure light going on/off after accelerating from a complete stop. The car would drive normal, there were no hiccups or anything. Just the "Ding" noise at every complete stop.

    can you get the pressure sensor from the bottom?

    • @94SexyStang
      @94SexyStang 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, the steering system or driveline in directly in the way. It's pretty much impossible to go Up and over the components with your hands while maintaining dexterity to pop the clips off, maybe if you had Super small arms and hands, you could slip threw, but you'll be cutting up your arms bad...lol.

      Its difficult to get from underneath, there are several brackets and other things in the way of getting to it. From the top you just have to get past the cover around the exhaust.

    • @94SexyStang
      @94SexyStang 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah, bottom is damn near impossible, better off going underneath to LOOK at it, take a mental picture, then remove it from the TOP.

    young man. thanks so much for your help. i just bought a 2000 Neon with a nasty oil leak. i lifted the car, put it on jack stands, started the engine and searched for the leak source. it appears to be coming from the oil pressure sending unit/sensor/switch. the electrical connector on my switch looks just like yours. it's distinctive for sure. 1/2 " drive...thats the size of the socket wrench needed for that kind of socket you show on the vid

    • @bobpaulino4714
      @bobpaulino4714 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The handle is called a ratchet. They typically come in 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", and if working on larger equipment, 3/4" and 1" 'drive'.
      3/8" and 1/2" drive ratchets and sockets are typically adequate for most 'home mechanical projects'.
      1/4" drive and ratcheting box wrenches are nice for small hardware or in close quarters- ie.: timing belt and heater core covers, blend doors and actuators, etc.
