✅What does it mean when your oil light comes on?
The dashboard oil light comes on when your engine suffers a drop in oil pressure. Without enough oil pressure, the engine can't lubricate itself. Continuous lubrication is necessary for the engine to run, so if it's not adequately lubricated it will seize, and it could stop abruptly, which could cause an accident.
✅Is it safe to drive a car with the oil light on?
You should not drive with the Oil Light on as this can cause extensive damage to your vehicle's engine. The Oil Light indicator may turn on due to low oil pressure or low oil in your vehicle.
✅What do you do when your oil pressure light comes on?
Low pressure means there either isn't enough oil in the system or the oil pump isn't circulating enough oil to keep the critical bearing and friction surfaces lubricated. If the light comes on while at speed, do your best to pull off the road quickly, turn the engine off, and investigate the problem to avoid damage.
✅Is there a warning light for low oil?
The older the vehicle, the higher chance of an oil leak (or leaks). Either that, or it may just get burnt away by the engine's normal operation. Once the oil level goes down enough, you will see that the oil pressure warning light will activate. Check your engine oil level immediately.
✅How long can you drive with the oil light on?
Oil Pressure light would mean immediate stop. The oil change light is a calculation of what they think is safe to drive the average oil, assuming in the next 500 miles you will obey it, and assuming your car is in good repair. my car engine oil symbol comes and goes what is the problem please
Oil light came up i change oil pressure switch and light still on. When i check the oilpan the oil pipe strainer is blocked. So i cleaned it and all back to normal.

My car started making sound noise when I press gas, then in the stop the oil turn red and car turn off I turn it on again and got home quickly

@@WizardWorkDesigns I think it was water leak in the water pump or next to it. Found water dropping and change it. After that the car reach half of temperature super fast less than 5 minutes. But fixed the problem.
I have a red oil light on my car that I'm scared to death of I'm hoping it's my oil sensor because my motor is clean it sounds great the gasket is fine the oil pressure is fine the oil is clean because I'm worried if it's not the oil sensor that it's the oil pump and the oil pump is a good 1800 to fix which I don't have the money for right now and no car no job my mechanic had no idea and just suggested the sensor because I was talking about it I'll know tomorrow. The temperature of my car also does not fluctuate at all my mechanic even though he didn't know what it was said it couldn't be anything too horrible but I know that if he's wrong and I drive it that I can blow up my engine if anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them
I'm dealing with the same problem and panicked and then I was told by someone very good, as good as scotty Kilmor tell me I would hear valves tapping. I might wire another guage in my vehicle too but we'll see, it depends on if my guage is bad, I'm not exactly sure if gm put a Fuze for the oil pressure guage in my vehicle or its just straight wired to the ecm like a moron would set it up like that.

Been using 10w40, switched to 10w30 light came on, changed oil pressure switch twice light came back on. 219,000 miles

Hi sir.
I have low oil pressure light issue at idle or low rpm.
I have changed
1. Oil pump
2. Oil pressure sensor.
Still same problem last 18 months.
Still no success.
Pl help

Is this 1.0 ecoboost,i have the same problem what was your solution to a problem
Change to a thicker oil.
