The wow pass sounds cool. But (you may not know this)- I'm traveling with my 12-year-old- does each person need a separate card for public transportation? Not sure if the wow pass would be beneficial in this situation! great videos, they're very helpful!
This is really useful. Thank you so much! Overall I think wowpass is the best option for us. We are travelling as a family of 4 with 2 children around 11years of age. Is it best for us to get 2 wowpass for myself and hubby, and 2 Tmoney card for the children to use on public transport?
Hey, thank you for watching! Unfortunately not, once a Seoul Discover card has lapsed you can’t use it for anything - at least that’s what I understand
Hi Steve, thank your for video. I'll fly to South Korea in less than 24 hours and thank God I found your video about WowPass. There's one thing I want to ask, since passport is required for WowPass, can I topup my WowPass using currency other than my country? For example I'm not an US citizen, but can I use USD to topup the balance? Also what do you think about WowPass exchange rate so far? Thank you in advance, I hope you can answer my question 🙂
Yes you can I always recommend comparing the WOWpass exchange rates with the exchange rates at your local bank to help you decide You can also choose to pre order your wowpass fpr pickup when you arrive - bit.ly/wowpasssteve (se code PHATLIFEPROJECTKLOOK for a 10% discount =))
Good information, looks like the wow pass the the go to. Since you can top it up with your local cash to avoid currency exchange. Discover Seoul pass also good, might grab both. Planning to fo tourist attractions.
basically, these cards can only be used for BELOW ground transport like subway/metro. Above ground like KRAIL and high speed must be seperate i presume. Have you done any video on Krail/SRT before?seems like quite a few types of lines there too..thanks heaps=)
Hi Steve! I'm stuck between the T-Money and Namane card actually. I'll be visiting Seoul for 2 months in February, but don't really like the idea of having to go to exchange cash so I can top it up with the T-Money, might seem like too much hassle. Would you still recommend this one to me though? Was just thinking that with the Namane it would be easier since I can do that in an app, but maybe it would end up being more expensive? Thanks for your help!
How can I transfer the remaining money from my WOWPASS to my American bank checking account? Does the WOWPASS have an expiration date if I want to keep it? Can I top up my WOWPASS using my debit card to directly transfer the money from my American bank checking account to my WOWPASS? Does the WOWPASS have a limit in the amount of transactions per day, the maximum spending limit or the maximum money that can be added to the card? Thank you!
Hi , I saw that with t- money you might have a discount of 100 won Everytime you take a transportation. Does it apply for the others transportation cards ? Thank you :)
To clarify, if you brought USD cash, you could use that to purchase/top off the Wowpass balance? Is there a place to insert foreign bills? Or can you only use Korean won to top off both Wowpass and T-money? Thank you!
Hi! If i have a low balance at the end and lets say i want to spend in convenience store, can I pay the difference with the money? How much would you recommend to pop up for 4 days in Seoul?
It’s a good question! I don’t think you can and it’s either or - in terms of how much that also depends on what you’re planning to do in Seoul - but not to worry. You can always top up again easily at any wowpass machine or even using your own credit card within the app.
Yes WOWpass works everywhere in Korea WOWpass has TWO balances - a WOWPass balance and a TMoney balance, WOWPass balance can be topped up with credit card and cash BUT the TMoney only in Korean Won cash Hope this helps!
교통카드는 먼저 돈을 카드에 충전한 후에만 사용할 수 있습니다. 그리고 충전은 편의점, 지하철역 등에서 할 수 있습니다. Options below: 👇 please answer me. I confused which card what work ① 체크카드 ③ 후불제 카드 ② 선불제 카드 ④ 신용카드 신청
i think the only thing about wowpass, is not all places. and it seems more for seoul and busan. i think because u need to have also cash in hand. so u need to strike a balance. and top up is only more on seoul and busan
if you do not wish to use the WOWPass as a cash card you could just purchase a Tmoneye card to use public transportation and use your credit card for other purchases
good question, according to their site - Unfortunately, there are no discounts for children when buying the pass and no free entry for children accompanied by an adult.
When you buy a wowcard for 4000 won, you can't get that cost of the card back, can you? The same question for Tmoney cards: can you be refund the cost of the card at the end of the journey? I think their cost range from 3000 to 6000won depending on the design

Hey Steve, thanks for the very informative videos. Was wondering if T-money pass has an app to consult your balance?
There is an app called BucaCheck that you can use to check it but I’ve never used it myself to verify 🙌

yes, a separate card for each individual =) you may not need a wowpass in your child's case, maybe a T Money pass will do

YES! that is the perfect combination =)
Hi, thanks for the video; I would like to know if you can use the Discover seoul card pass as a IC card after the days of use
Hey, thank you for watching! Unfortunately not, once a Seoul Discover card has lapsed you can’t use it for anything - at least that’s what I understand

Yes a combination - use the Seoul pass and do all the attractions first and for the rest of your trip use a wowpass :)

As you are there for 2 months you may want to consider the new Climate Card, i did a video on it here - th-cam.com/video/_BR5vTI9Xq8/w-d-xo.html 😊
@@PhatLifeProject Thank you! Will check it out :)

Hi , I saw that with t- money you might have a discount of 100 won Everytime you take a transportation. Does it apply for the others transportation cards ? Thank you :)
Yup , i believe it applies to anything that uses TMoney

The comparison blog was EXTREMELY helpful. Thank you!
yes, at the wowpass kiosk machines =) but remember that is for the WowPass balance, for the TMoney balance still cash and in WON only
im so glad to hear that, makes my day =)

Yes you can also top up at convenience stores :)

Yes they are but you can also pre purchase some prior to arrival for pickup

@@PhatLifeProject yup, because going on sep. last time don have this things. seems like you need to buy
I note the exchange rate in WOwpass is not so attractive. Could we use a foreign travel debit card to purchase the wowpass?
if you do not wish to use the WOWPass as a cash card you could just purchase a Tmoneye card to use public transportation and use your credit card for other purchases
It doesn't seem like Korea Tour Card is discontinued anymore.
thank you for the update! I will look into it, might do a video ;)
