I love your videos! Your channel has been my favorite and most helpful to learn from for our upcoming trip to Korea! Any tips for coming during the summer?
@christieconstantino2375 thanks so much! Really happy that the videos have been helpful! For the summer if you're in Seoul and planning on visiting a lot of the traditional places in Northern Seoul, I'd try and get a hotel in Jongno-gu close to Gwanghwamun or Jonggak Station so you can come back and shower/rest at your hotel throughout the day as you explore. It's extremely hot and humid and you'll probably be sweating a lot and need some breaks here and there. Also the convenience stores have seats a lot of the time, so definitely stop in and grab a drink and cool off throughout the day.
Cool vid! I'd love to see more Northeast Seoul stuff. I lived in Nowon and Seongbuk for years, and there's a lot of cool stuff to check out! Lots of mountains to hike, streams with bike and walking paths, and cool neighborhoods. Basically no tourists.
@ControlCityFreak thanks a lot! Yeah this video is definitely biased towards places that we've explored personally, but would be good to check out some of Northeast Seoul as well as it's an area that I almost never visit. Will go there in the future!
Great video! When you went to the Leeum Art Museum did you have to reserve a ticket in advance? I tried going there one time last year on a whim and when I got there they said I needed to reserve a ticket online. Perhaps I just got unlucky and it was on a special event day or something.
@Gemini19 thanks so much! To be honest I haven't been in a few years and it was possible for me to buy a ticket at the front (I just filmed the outside for this video), but apparently you can buy a ticket when you get inside according to the reviews I read. You can also reserve a ticket for 2 weeks ahead of time, so it seems like some of the exhibitions are really popular, and maybe the art gallery overall has gained a lot of popularity since I went.
You guys are allergic to making by-the-numbers videos, so good. I had no idea there was a Baekje museum, thats going right to the top of my list! As is the 아저씨의 포차, his food stall looks mood alteringly good 😅
@jkang7265 thanks so much for the kind words! The museum was pretty good considering I don't think it's very famous. Some interesting displays of ships and all that inside. The 아저씨 포차 is amazing!! Definitely recommend it as the 고등어 was so crispy and juicy!
@kicha1777 really glad to hear that! Gwanak is an awesome area with a lot of things to do/see. Hope you have an excellent trip, and the weather will be perfect then!
@sadanelhanucer5690 thanks a lot! Trot bars are not an especially common thing here, so I don't know a lot, but this place is pretty close to Myeongdong and people said that trot music was playing there in a blog so no guarantees, but hope it helps a bit: naver.me/5vIYV8ps Blog: blog.naver.com/oksoriya/223174332508 Another idea is to go to an LP bar and request specific songs by typing in "LP바" to Naver Maps
Seoul looks beautiful and I'd love to visit there one day. My sister took her honeymoon there; she said if she had to retire anywhere in the world, it would be here. :). How safe is the city in the evening? Love your channel, following from Bangalore.
@DailyPassenger thanks so much for watching and following! Seoul is incredibly safe in the evenings too. If you are a solo female traveler then it's best to take precautions like other countries, but overall it's one of the safest countries in the world, and if you are smart about your decisions then it's very safe!
@punosya2873 Gwanaksan should be okay for most of the winter luckily! It's really beautiful down at the entrance anyways, so you could play it by ear and if it's too slippery then just hang out down below. One thing is when you get to the top of the stair section, you can either walk along a cliffy ridge or continue down the stairs and then walk up some more later (there will be a sign to Yeonjudae / 연주대). Definitely take the stairs as the cliffy ridge would be dangerous in the winter I think.
@T0mmY927 haha thanks a lot! Also I understand completely. When I lived in Vancouver, Canada I just went to the same places every time, and almost never explored like I do here in Korea.
10:30 Great video, but I think your information about Leeum is wrong. If you want to view the permanent exhibition which are comprised of traditional arts the price is free but you will have to make a reservation. They only charge you for special exhibitions. And their traditional art collection is no slouch despite being free as a lot of National Treasures and Treasures officially designated by the Cultural Heritage Administration are in display. These were collected by the Lee Family behind Samsung, particularly the mother of the current chairperson Hong Ra-hee who is well-versed in art collecting and founded the museum along with her late husband. And the architecture of the museum are done by three world-renowned architects.
@beatlemania8273 thanks so much for the updated information! I pinned this comment and added an automatic subtitle that should play for people from now on. I haven't been there in years (just filmed the outside as I was in a rush that day), and it looks like the Visit Korea website needs to update their information as well: english.visitkorea.or.kr/svc/whereToGo/locIntrdn/rgnContentsView.do?vcontsId=104050 Really appreciate it, and will have to make another visit soon!
@lostthenfound Glad it helped! I think museums in general are overlooked when it comes to traveling Seoul. A lot of them are either free or dirt cheap and are high quality. To be honest , there is not much things to see in Seoul and Korea. Plus, its way too expensive to buy food especially fruit. I highly doubt if it worth visiting korea with spending that amount of money. Thats why most koreans fly abroad especially japan . They just say their country is beautiful but they all travel overseas . Funny.
@masonju5854 haha there's no doubt that fruit is incredibly expensive here! I think that Seoul is incredibly special with all of the great places to eat at like the markets and little restaurants everywhere, the beautiful mountains nearby, the 한양도성 (Seoul City Wall), and especially the Han River! It might not be for everyone, but a lot of people definitely enjoy traveling here!

This is great. It will be very helpful next week…!
Thanks so much Alex! You must be getting excited to come back!
Great video
@@bridgetkoerber1747 thank you very much for watching!
Great video like always.
@marcomorales920 thanks so much for all of your support!
I didn't know there was a place in Seoul where you can admire the grass during Fall season. Thank u!
@sandrak.5503 Haneul Park is really beautiful in the fall! Definitely check out the dates for the festival as it's normally in the middle of October.
Thank you so much ... and I hope your happy life in korea 😄😄😄
@user-tc8uv2gg2e thank you so much for the kind words! I'm super happy here in Korea! 😊
잘보고있어요! 좋은 팁 고마워요❤
@mirimigaloo님 시청해 주셔서 감사합니다! 😊
I lived on Supyo-ro aka Pascucci Pojang Macha Street for nearly a year. The Hotteok there is the best
@floppy1437 oh nice thanks a lot for letting us know! Will go check it out someday!
Well done video! 👍😊
Thank you so much for watching! Have a great day 😊🙏
You guys are allergic to making by-the-numbers videos, so good.
Thanks!
@dericmpark8381 thank you so much for your continued support and generousity! Really appreciate it, and hope all is well!
I´ll be staying in Gwanak for two weeks at the end of september. So the end of this video is perfect for me.
@kicha1777 really glad to hear that! Gwanak is an awesome area with a lot of things to do/see. Hope you have an excellent trip, and the weather will be perfect then!
Shinrim very beautiful
@laiyenbr it's really nice at night time eh!
Yeokjeon Halmeoni Maekju is a good recommendation for peole who love beer 🍺and affordable food.
@AngBugnutin that's what I'm talking about! 🍻 Haha I think it's my favourite sul-jib in Korea now.
Hi thank you for video. Do you know, are there any trot bars in Seoul?
@sadanelhanucer5690 thanks a lot! Trot bars are not an especially common thing here, so I don't know a lot, but this place is pretty close to Myeongdong and people said that trot music was playing there in a blog so no guarantees, but hope it helps a bit: naver.me/5vIYV8ps
Blog: blog.naver.com/oksoriya/223174332508
Another idea is to go to an LP bar and request specific songs by typing in "LP바" to Naver Maps

관악구 짱!
@rhizocarp 관악구는 진짜 좋죠! 저기서 4년 동안 살았는데 그립네요!
I wonder if we can go to Gwanaksan during winter
@punosya2873 Gwanaksan should be okay for most of the winter luckily! It's really beautiful down at the entrance anyways, so you could play it by ear and if it's too slippery then just hang out down below. One thing is when you get to the top of the stair section, you can either walk along a cliffy ridge or continue down the stairs and then walk up some more later (there will be a sign to Yeonjudae / 연주대). Definitely take the stairs as the cliffy ridge would be dangerous in the winter I think.
Even I haven’t been to all of these places and Im a native Korean living in Seoul
@T0mmY927 haha thanks a lot! Also I understand completely. When I lived in Vancouver, Canada I just went to the same places every time, and almost never explored like I do here in Korea.
I feel the same, I have been living in Hawaii for 30 years and tourists have seen more of the islands than I have.
@@MarkOliver-p4i haha doesn't surprise me. I'm quite envious by the way!
👌
@Inchonseoul 🙏❤
I haven't been there in years (just filmed the outside as I was in a rush that day), and it looks like the Visit Korea website needs to update their information as well: english.visitkorea.or.kr/svc/whereToGo/locIntrdn/rgnContentsView.do?vcontsId=104050
Really appreciate it, and will have to make another visit soon!
@lostthenfound Glad it helped! I think museums in general are overlooked when it comes to traveling Seoul. A lot of them are either free or dirt cheap and are high quality. I think you should do a video just about the museums in and around Seoul, maybe some major ones in other cities and provinces. Love all your videos and keep up the good work! 👍
@@beatlemania8273 agree with you completely that the museums here are very high quality and often overlooked. Definitely a good video idea too, thanks a lot for the kind words! Take care in this heat eh!
This is really the best video ❤ with good recommendation 🎉❤ I was in Korea 4 times and from your video I founded 10 more places 🎉 so I will make naver map Seoul 2025 pin 📌 ❤ thanks a lot !
@allmyhope89 thanks so much for watching and for the kind words! Really happy that we were able to introduce some new places, and hope you can check some of them out next year!
