“Cariñosa” is the Philippines National Folk Dance and song from the 1800’s. The song instrumental and dance was introduced to Filipinos by the Spaniards. As you guys noticed, Pilita and EZ Mil did their own take on the song.
Pilita herself is Filipina with part Spanish ancestry. I think 1/4 Spanish? She can speak Spanish, Bisaya, Tagalog and English fluently. Also, I think those pictures at the beginning are from a fiesta in the Philippines called Flores de Mayo, also known as Santacruzan. And I think the woman is her daughter Jackie and she’s one of the Reynas. I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure it is.

Pilita is the original who sung Cariñosa. Cariñosa is also a very nice folkdance music, which I danced when I was in elementary days. Pilita speaks cebuano, spanish and tagalog. She sings in spanish, cebuano, tagalog and english, a comedian actress as well. Long live Pilita, amping kanunay!

Cariñosa originated from the Panay Islands in the Philippines, it was introduced during the Spanish Colonization, it is related to the Spanish Bolero and the Mexican Jarabe Tapatio. There's a version of this in the Bicol Region of the country, both versions share similarities in the costume, and meaning. The costumes for women are either the Traje de Mestiza(Maria Clara Gown) or the Camisa de Chino(a white wide-sleeved blouse) and the Patadyong Kimona, a dress from the Visayan Region(which includes the Panay Islands). The associated accessories are either a fan, a handkerchief or both which symbolizes and tells the story of the romance shared by the pair hence the "hide and seek" gestures using the accessories.

5:28 - That's not Pilita. Ella es Jackielou Blanco.
8:08 - That event is a Filipino tradition called 'Flores de Mayo' with Jackielou Blanco, Pilita's daughter.
10:00 - Amado del Paraguay is Pilata's former husband. He's I think from Colombia.
10:20 - Pilita sings in Tagalog, Cebuano, English and Español. The same also in all her recordings.
11:03 - Ole! It's because her father is from Spain and she studied there so her Spanish is more Castillian.

El Cancion that she sang "CARIÑOSA" was released on those days that many Filipino can still understand and speak Spanish.
La image en el litrato es un evento festivo que llamamos SAGALA en Flores de Mayo, La Sagala es una Parada.
You can notice the difference of Filipino-Castillano specially in dobleeye"LL", here it's doble-Elye a "ly" sound.

Ha-ha. I made that video from the pictures I took during the event. It was taken in MacArthur Park Los Angeles during the early eighties. And that was Jackie Lou (Pilita's daughter) who was the reina elena. Filipinos were celebrating Santacruzan and Jackie Lou was chosen to be the reina elena for the event. You'll see Pilita at the end of the video singing. In some of my TH-cam posts you'll see her singing with Amado Del Paraguay. Thanks for your nice comments including my imperfections (Ha-ha-ha-ha)_. ✌🏼😅🇵🇭 I remembered when I am learning something or something more about the Spanish language that you use the "ü" in Spanish language to write and spell down the syllables and differentiate the syllables of "gui" (pronounced like: gih/gheeh) from "güi" (pronounced like: gwih/ghweeh/hweeh) and from "gi" (pronounced like: heeh/kheeh) and also "gue" (pronounced like: geh/gheh) from "güe" (pronounced like: gweh/ghweh/hweh) and from "ge" (pronounced like: heh/kheh).
It is not used in the Spanish word "agua" (water), because "agua" is with the syllable "gua" or the letters or the consonant and vowel combination or letter combination of "gu" followed or suceeeded by the vowel letter "a" and not by "e" or "i".
"ü" is only used with the "gui"/"güi"/"gi" and "gue"/"güe"/"ge" syllables to be able to differentiate them and their more correct or appropriate, most generally agreed and accepted and best linguistically prescribed or prescriptive pronunciations, especially with "gue" and "güe" and with "gui" and "güi".
I guess "ü" is almost only, limitedly or exclusively and usually, commonly or mostly used in formal things, more formal things or formal-related or more formal-related things like in or for Spanish or Spanish language dictionaries and their word entries and in or for other formal or more formal communications, writings, literature and other written texts, manuscripts and documents, etc. and the differences in the pronunciations with, between or among words with, having or containing "gui" and "güi" and with, having or containing "gue" and "güe" are just based or being based on the meanings, usages and contexts of the words and in where and how they are used or being used in a phrase, clause or sentence.
Like for example, whether it is written or spelled as "penguino" or "pengüino" (penguin), most would still most likely be able to correctly, appropriately or prescriptively pronounce it more like (pehn-'ghweeh-no) and not or less like (pehn-'gheeh-no), or whether it is written or spelled as "guitarra" (guitar), most would still most likely be able to correctly, appropriately or prescritively pronounce it more like (gheeh-'tah-rra) and not confusingly and mistakenly or incorrectly, inappropriately or non-prescriptively pronounce it like or less like (ghweeh-'tah-rra).
It's just like you grow up knowing, understanding, comprehending, communicating and using these words in oral and verbal communication through listening and speaking all before writing and spelling them down, including about their more correct or appropriate, most generally agreed and accepted and best linguistically prescribed or prescriptive pronunciations, so whether they are or are not written or spelled with just a "u" or with a "ü", you can still most likely be able to write and spell them down and also more correctly or appropriately and prescriptively pronounce them and also differentiate them based on the meanings, usages and contexts of the words and in where and how they are used or being used in a phrase, clause or sentence.

There are 2 versions of the procession showcasing beautiful ladies and their escorts, one is the Flores de Mayo (Flowers of May) where the procession ends up in the local church to offer flowers to Mother Mary. The other is the Santacruzan (Santa Cruz or Holy Cross) which is a much bigger procession showcasing various biblical characters. This depicts the finding of the true cross by Queen Helena (represented by the Reyna Elena) and Constantine (represented by the escort).
These processions are held during town fiestas which held in the month of May.

The "gui" here in sampaguita is also the same when saying "Aguinaldo" (aa-gee-naal-doh) like the surname of Emilio Aguinaldo

It's a "Santakrosan". It usually happens in May, a sort of "May festival". It's a procession of "beauty queens" with "Reyna Elena", "Reyna Esperanza", etc. It's part of Catholic culture.

The event being shown in the picture with the younger Pilita Corrales is called Santacruzan or Flores De Mayo being celebrated every month of May. She probably took the role as Reina Elena.

8:15 is not a wedding. It's a festival called Flores de Mayo aka Santa Cruzan.

The young lady in the picture is Pilita's daughter Jackie Lou Blanco. And it looks like the photo was taken during a "Santacruzan" (a ritual pageant held on the last day of the Flores de Mayo. It honors the finding of the True Cross by Helena of Constantinople (known as Reyna Elena) and Constantine the Great). If my memory serves me right, Amado del Prado was her first husband and Jackie Lou's father. If you want to watch really good folk dances, search for the Bayanihan Dance Troupe/Company.
