      I get waves from older harkey riders all the way to 20 year olds. What more can you ask for? Lol sometimes I'll shift early for a day and think I need more power then I just push higher into the revs and realize it's plenty. Congrats🫡🫡

    Cool bike....Love the blue colour with the nice Gold touch...looks so cool...I would imagine it would feel somewhat similar to the current generation of MT 09? There is always a distinct sound to an inline triple engine. It does not matter if it is an Yamaha or Triumph Triple engine bike, they all have that distinct nice sound I can hear and identify, from an mile away. Once you are over 40, sports bikes like an R1 are only useful for the track...

    • @admireinspire
      @admireinspire  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Ya I think the mt09 is the more comfortable but also more rowdy brother this one is just easy on the eyes. Very similar overall but the SP mt09 has some things you can't get on an xsr but for me they aren't deal breakers. It's a sick flex to have that more track capable suspension but I'd never use it anyway.

      Ya man honestly watched everything of this platform on TH-cam and I didn't realize how good we have it here. Lots of open space winding roads beautiful green vegetation. It makes me appreciate the area and our geography a bit more BUT it's been 110 heat index for the last 2 weeks.

    Your comments starting at 30ish second mark regarding the bike’s looks are spot on. It drew me to it from the pics and videos and I bought mine without seeing one in person. I’m in Miami and after a long and fruitless search in-state, ended up buying from a dealer in Oklahoma City and shipped it here. I’ve had several bikes, some nice cars and other toys and the XSR is by far my favorite. What a machine!

    I have admired the XSR 900 since they came out, this year is especially nice! I have had a KTM 1090R for 5 years and it does everything I want in comfort and desire nothing else. Hopefully this bike will be like that for you. Keep the videos coming, you speak very well about interesting topics! Wish I had the riding areas around you, DFW does not a good riding area make (lived in Alabama late 90's and loved it).

    Haha you got the r1 still in your blood. This will give me extra horsepower..... I enjoyed your review. I've come from a blackbird to this and it's like a complete different experience. Cruising is a joy. A light bike with good horses is a blast. The stock sound is enough for me. A shame the box looks like a diy welded job. I need to do something about the seating. Stretching and strength exercises (deadlifts) are very good for treating back pain like that. You might want to ask a gym coach for advice or watch some videos about it.

    • @admireinspire
      @admireinspire  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think I've actually herniated a disk because my pain will slowly get better unless I do squats or deadlifts. Any flexion of the lower spine forward and I can't walk for a week. I did powerlifting for like 3 years and I still lift weights about 4 days a week I just neglect my legs since this injury started. I'll eventually get an mri next time it flares up and figure it out.

      @@admireinspire I slipped a disc - severely- lower back. I used this chiropractor-channel on utube,
      SpineCare Decompression and Chiropractic Center,
      has every stretch/exercise you need/for free. After being out for a month, little by little, I'm 100%. It took about 10 months to get there and now I just stay on top of it to prevent any injuries. Haven't had a prob since. I'm also 59yo.
      As for long trips and the seat, consider buying a pair of bicyclist shorts to wear under your riding pants. They cover the sitz-bones and create an open space for your prostate too. My bike seats are all good but this may be an option.
      Great video btw/love that bike!

    Awesome video, just picked up this beast. I find 2nd gear is neutered out of the box. Question, how difficult is it to remove the ecu? Not even sure that I want an exhaust as i love the sound of the induction noise. Can they flash an ecu without naming an exhaust? If I had to get an aftermarket pipe, I would want something not too obnoxious with some nice pops, and bangs on off throttle. Thanks in advance!

      Yessir vcyclenut will make a map for any mods he does have a stock bike map which adds I think like 4hp across the rev range and fixes those dead spots. You're right 1st and second are neutered actually they all are but those are the worst. Haney moto has a good video showing how to remove the gas tank and get to the ecu. It's an hour or so job mostly just because you want to take it slow and not scratch anything. I think it was 4 days shipping there and back. I think a flash alone can last you a while and vcyclenut will revise your flash in the future if your mods ever change. Talk to him, he's smart!

    I live on an island full of bumpy roads and potholes I did two tank slappers on my Ducati nightshift scrambler and my Ducati café racer as well as a CBR 650 four-cylinder. The roads just would not permit bikes like these to be driven. I know I have the XSR155 miniature version of this 222 60th GP anniversary edition and even that doesn't like it when he gets stuck behind a motorcycle with a side car that is waving left and right at 20 km an hour and won't let you overtake. The bike starts juddering because even in second gear the reps are too low.
    I'm going to stop driving at 180 to 200 km/h which I think is probably about 130 mph? I've realized it's not normal and I'm probably going to hurt myself. I'm going to have to learn to slow down - fast bikes just tempt me too much because that's what they're made for (driving fast,), but I really am going to have to stop now living on this island at 58 years old. I'll have to stick to the maximum 100-120 kmh

    • @admireinspire
      @admireinspire  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ya that's what I'd say. Just more power everywhere. I like riding in mode 1 so stock these bikes are always on off a bit especially at like 1-2% throttle like constant state cruising but a flash always fixes that for me and I can just stay in 1 and be happy. I'd say if you have a catted system and none of that bothers you you're prob solid. But I think with the exhaust I'm getting the bike would run lean without the flash so engine safety was also a concern for me.

      @admireinspire  ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't like them out of the box but I did some heavy braking drills like brake as hard as you can a couple times and I find it really improved things. Sometimes pads or rotors can have some ridges and if you really push them they can smooth that out so more contact means more performance. I find they kind of surprise me now but I haven't riden a really top notch bike in a while maybe I'm just used to something that sucks lol. Maybe something I'll focus on are the vibrations I get through the handlebar that after a while cause my right arm to get numb.
