      It's so naive, just thinking about the range and reactive armor.
      A fight between 2 tanks would be :
      US Tank spots the NK tank
      US Tank come in range to fire
      NK tank still haven't notice US TANK
      US Tank fires, NK tank is totally annihilated
      and even if NK tank miraculously come in range to fire, they would just damage the reactive armor and then got instantly destroyed

    • @vagabondwastrel2361

      I think it is more about a tank being a tank. Tanks are a big shit test to infantry and structures. Yes, modern armor would simply destroy the nk tanks with style. You can still use them as hardpoints hidden from view like what was done in ww2... except with a hell of a lot more setup time. I think google earth would have been a bigger "oh shit" than showing tanks. "I can see you have some chipped paint on your hand rail... from space.

    • @GorillaCookies
      @GorillaCookies 3 ปีที่แล้ว +47

      The US Military action in Vietnam was not a War. A War involves taking as much of a enemies ability to wage war away as well as not allowing any suspected military asset to remain if possible. In Vietnam the US Military was not allowed to war fight in reality. It was simply a disaster of epic proportions . I wouldnt even describe it as a police action since we werent allowed to really do much from the get go unless fired upon. My dad and all 5 of his brothers are Marine Combat veterans who served in Vietnam. The NVA & Vietcong werent simple farmers as so many seem to want to describe them. They were battle hardened gorrilla fighters who had been fighting in bloody battles since WW2 . They had a long established transportation and supply route that involved a incredible network of underground tunnels facilities that were thousands of miles in length. Saying the US was Defeated in Vietnam is wholly innacurate. The US Military was easily capable of defeating the north vietnamese. But for political reasons the military was kept from unleashing its potential . The B- 52 bombers of operation linebacker 1 & 2 had no problem convincing the North Vietnamese that peace talks were in their best interest . And those as well as almost every other operation the US military were executing were neutered and left very little chance at inflicting the potential power the US military had by the policians. A Flight of 10 or so B-52 strategic bombers with the order to flatten Hanoi would have been devistating for the people living there. I witnessed 1st hand what a B-52 full of conventional gravity bombs does to a area that its carpet bombed. 10 of them would be a gruesom mess

He called the Pueblo a massive ship, its only 177ft long, and it was a spy ship from the 60s. I mean, the American military industrial complex is a behemoth. For example the american airforce has the largest number of military aircraft in the world, the american navy has the second largest number of military aircraft in the world.

      Also they glossed over the important part: America's navy is smaller for many very good reasons, and that's *why* it's stronger. North Korea is wasting money on a fleet that large. They only have about 1500 miles of coastline to worry about, and 46k square miles of land to support their fleet. America has 95k of coastline, and nearly 4 MILLION square miles of land to support it. We're pouring more resources into a smaller fleet, resulting in a much more powerful one. It's the difference between being able to slap someone 1000 times, or punch them once hard enough to cave their chest in.

    • @Papawill13
      @Papawill13 3 ปีที่แล้ว +117

      How is that Awkward? The average American in 1776 had the greatest weapon on Earth, in the rifled barrel. Most English soldiers, as in over 90%, just had muskets. So the average Farmer had a better Gun than most of the Greatest Military Force on Earth at that time. Its the ONLY reason why America exists.
      Go look up the Battle of Bunker Hill, there is a reason the English won that battle but lost almost 3 times as many soldiers as the Americans did.
      Most deaths in battle come when one side breaks and flees the battle, but in the Revolutionary War the Americans were able to retreat from almost EVERY Battle without sustaining casualties. This was because of the Rifled Barrel. As the Americans fled (which they were great at during the War) they had sharpshooters slowing down the advance of the British, which allowed the fleeing Americans to gain distance and regroup.
      The Rifled Barrel was Very Expensive, but for people on the Frontier it paid for itself with its accuracy. Most Armies, including the British, did not have the money to arm their soldiers with Rifles, so they got muskets.
      America lost almost every major battle in the Revolutionary War, but they won almost every Skirmish because of the Rifle.

The fact that authoritarian systems exist to this day proves to us that there are several systems that are metastable. Push them a bit and internal conflict can cause all sorts of chaos and suffering. But theres still a chance that a slight pressure wont change things at all. To hope for NK to change from within is a pipedream. The NK elites enjoy too many privileges to want to scrap their current system. Meanwhile, the peasantry are too weak to overthrow their government. It seems almost impossible for change in NK to come internally

      Infantry force vs. infantry force, it would most likely be very bloody on both sides - but with all the branches fighting as a single unit, this hyopthetical war would be like the Grand Army of the Republic (Star Wars) fighting Medeival knights on horses, armed with swords and lances.

    The navy comparison was roughly similar to saying that the North has more horses than the US. Also, the Pueblo Incident involved a slow research ship that had been commissioned for spy work and was crewed by barely trained sailors in international waters. It was being chased and fired on by several attack craft and a sub. The captain surrendered because his ship had little in the way of defensive capabilities (two .50 caliber machine guns that only one sailor knew how to operate) and he knew they couldn't escape. It took a submarine, five attack craft, and two jets to capture a slow boat armed only with two machine guns, and the North still crows about it to this day.

They use NK as a sort of "farm" for Human trafficking, and as a political sock puppet to gain leverage in international dealings.
      How much truth there is to these claims, I don't know... but I'm confident that it's at least partially true. There is plenty of supporting evidence out in the open: follow the money, and look at all the cases of NK girls being shipped to China.

      Possibly. Including the Helicopter Carriers, the US has about 20 Aircraft Carriers, about 10x's as many as any other individual country. Plus the Super Carriers are all nuclear powered with unlimited range. Also all of the US aircraft are top of the line and the most advanced in the world. Countries like NK are using outdated equipment, Army, Air Force, AND Navy. They technically have more submarines, but just one US Sub could wreak havoc on the entire NK Sub fleet. NK is outclassed by the US in almost every measurable way. So yeah, it could come as a shock.

      They are both completely and utterly misinformed. The US would destroy North Korea very quickly, but war will never happen. Seoul is too close to the border and there are thousands upon thousands of artillery shells just waiting to rain down on South Korea at a moment’s notice. So if the US ever did attack, hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions, in Seoul would be killed and/or injured. Basically, this is North Korea’s insurance policy. Conversely, North Korea also understands that there is a red line that they can’t cross or they will be annihilated. Sinking ships way out in the ocean and shelling outlier islands don’t cross that line. But a land invasion over the DMZ, or shelling Seoul, are absolute red line actions that would lead to war. Both sides understand the game and both sides will never go too far. After all, it’s been 70 years. There will never be another Korean War.

      I have a large tattoo on each shoulder, plus have had a procedure called a "Nerve conduction study". ( Docs stick a big ass needle in one end of an arm or leg, and another at the far end. Then they shoot a current through it to see how well the nerves conduct signals. )
      I had a hard time staying awake for the tattoos, and found the N.C.S. actually helped kill some of the nerve pain I had been dealing with.
      Oh, and I've also had more stitches than a sack full of baseballs, thanks to motorcycle and car wrecks.
      So... when it comes to needles, I'm apparently immune to pain. Also, my screwed-up nervous system makes me rather immune to Tasers as well. lol
