maybe NK probably threw its entire military head first into the assalut, meaning that they have essentially no back lines or troops on the chinese border.
yeah...these clowns did the same thing in the NK vs US build up video...all about how mighty NK was...very little mention of what reality would be. seems this video is more of the same. LOL
You are 100% right. For one thing, SK troops do get the vaccinations. And lets be real here. The North Korean army is only loyal insofar as they have a gun pointed to the back of their head when ordered to march. The ones who don't defect will be routed in short order. And South Korea has a missile defense system on par with Israel, thanks to the US helping them install it. NK can *launch* a lot per minute, but you won't see that many finding their targets. :p Not to mention, China's wet team isn't just interested in getting the nukes. They also have a few who are there to cut the head off the snake if it turns on them, too. And there's no way the NK army would be trapping millions of people in Seoul.
Pshhh, you give the current administration Way to much credit. Uncle Brandon would simply shake his fist at N.K. and then sign more gender identity bills

That's why things are going horribly wrong in the USA.
@@teapott-caddyman Facts. That's what they don't understand. US and other super powers are waiting patiently for NK to make a mistake so they can sink them. All NK have is its nukes, its soldiers are malnourished and poorly equipped and trained. Its military assets are way outdated. Heck South Korea alone would sink NK in a matter of dayz.
This video significantly overestimates NK's capabilities. As seen from Russia's invasion of Ukraine, even an overmatched defender can put up a good fight against a much stronger opponent, yet SK, despite the defender in this scenario, is a much more capable military power than NK (and probably even Ukraine for that matter). The problem is, the cost on infrastructure and civilian lives lost. But in terms of actually winning a potential war, even without significant US assistance, SK should be able to win, especially in a defensive war. The scenario of NK taking over Seoul and having any agency on its own future as a nation is extremely unlikely. Sure, like the video said, NK has a huge army - 4th largest in the world. SK is also huge - 8th largest. And their air force, navy, armored vehicles, artillery, all their equipment, are all extremely modern and cutting edge, compared to NK fielding mostly WW2 and cold war tech. And SK's soldiers are well fed, well educated, fighting for their homeland instead of a dictator, and have better morale than their NK counterparts. NK's only advantage is nukes, which they don't even have a reliable delivery method for right now.
@@srichard6237 every country knows that if u underestimate ur enemy u will lose, ask russia against Japan and Ukraine, and America against Vietnam and the taliban
True but I also think NK troops would have a higher morale than the Russian troops due to their hatred of US and SK due to being secluded from the outside world. Unlike Russian troops who don’t know why they are fighting
The South Korean military is much stronger than perceived in this video. Also it's not that easy for any North Korean to just walk in South Korea with a bunch of nerve gasses or other lethal toxins. What also is forgotten is the presence of the United States 7th fleet. This fleet has a huge arsenal of weapons to completely decimate North Korea. Furthermore it is still up to debate whether the North Koreans are really capable of reaching the American mainland with their few nuclear warheads. And as we speak, the same American military is working on both scram-jet hyper-sonic missiles and super powered lasers to shoot down any incoming ICBM. In all honest ways I think the chances for North Korea are much slimmer than this video suggests. Let's also not forget that the US Military does not publish all it's secrets, so who knows.
I haven't even watched the video yet, but it concerns me they messed that up. If no one else got involved, South Korea could obviously easily stomp the North. (North Korea can't even feed themselves, how are they going to fight?) The problem is, in the real world, China is right next door and would make things messy even if the US got involved.
Without nukes, SK can singlehandedly defeat NK. Those covert agents won't get into the country with such weapons. They have their own CIA and intel groups whose job for the past 70 years is counterintelligence. Full scale assaults on bases can't occur until they somehow break through the DMZ. SK also has thousands of artillery and thousands of conventional warhead ballistic missiles. NK can't win against SK in a conventional war. And that's EXACTLY why NK went the nuke route. They're not dumb. AT ALL.
North Korea military would numerically overwhelm South Korea only to immediately defect and and fight against North Korea for a guarantee of 2-3 bowls of rice a day. Seriously, not too many people actually want to fight for the North, not as long as they can be fed and also defeat North so their families won’t be murdered to 3 generations.
I usually enjoy these videos but I think it’s ridiculous to even speculate that random people in hazmat suits could walk around Seoul spraying lethal biochemical agents without immediately being noticed, questioned, stopped, arrested and interrogated. Especially considering these are supposed to be devastatingly effect weapons, you’d imagine that would be noticed pretty quickly.
I think drones are the real risk for acts of terrorism. It's relatively simple and inexpensive to build a Swarm of hundreds or thousands of small drones that could distribute chemical weapons or explosives to targets using nothing but cheap GPS or other satellite guidance modules. Terrifying to think how many terrorists are crossing the USA southern border right now.
It would be noticed very quickly, but north korea would probably get the attack off because they would just use plainclothes suicide attackers armed with the chemical agents that would knowingly infect themselves, and they probably have a large number of spies in most south korean cities stockpiling the materials needed to manufacture the weapons.
So much of this is assumed ignorance on the part of the south and the United States. North Korea would be flattened well before they the mass bombing and shelling that would instantly happen and the carrier strike group would crush the capital, North Korea simply doesn't have the force.
I've never seen such an overestimation of North Korea in any video and assumed incredible ineptitude of every perceived enemy of NK XD The Russia-Ukraine war shows that Russia's greatest weakness would be themselves, North Korea would fare no better. The massive artillery bombardment is fairly an accurate description of what NK would initially do however that's assuming all artillery pieces are well maintained and crewed with trained men. That's a lot of if's to be honest.
also assuming the US and ROK haven't spent the past 60 years figuring out every single location NK has hidden bunkers and arty emplacements along the border, and assuming they don't already have a bunker buster pre-aimed at each location ready to fire the moment everything kicks off. The first surprise barrage would be devastating. After that, many of NK's guns would be silenced.
Don't underestimate North Korea by comparing them to Russia. The culture and mentality is totally different. These people's entire lives are for the military and they've been programmed to believe the US is basically satan their entire lives. Asian warrior's honour is different.
Ukraine is the third strongest army in Europe. The error there is just in western media and the way they decided to run the story. Concerning NK they already defeated USA once, so....
Would think they keep their stuff pretty well maintained. But I would question the moral and the willingness to fight of the soldiers and in all scenarios Seoul would fall pretty badly.
I normally agree with what you guys say in these videos but I honestly think you underestimate the USA and South Korea military power and way overestimated North Korea. Nk people are starved, lack proper training, and there equipment is outdated/unmaintained, a key thing we are seeing play out in Ukraine with Russias "massive" military.
All these biological and chemical agents would quickly in fact North Korea as well especially if the wind's blowing back in their Direction that is the worst scenario depiction I've ever seen or heard whoever made this little piece of documentary has an IQ of 60 and below
NK defeating USA, SK and China is so ridiculous, that it borders science-fiction or alternate universe. In reality, NK would be flattened and partitioned within a week of a war.
Fallout from a nuclear attack on South Korean cities would likely affect the Chinese coastline. China would respond much faster than the USA. Invading immediately. North Korea would become another province of China within a week. Also, airbases in Japan would be able to respond to an attack on Seoul in about an hour. I like the video, but I think you guys gave too much credit to the North Korean army.
I agree the PLA intelligence in the region would give China the upper hand and would lead to a quick victory for China before the US even gets troop's to Korea. China has a huge advanced military with the manpower to invade North Korea. North Korea couldnt fight on 2 sides with the south counter attacking at the same time.
I really enjoy this channel. Always has very interesting content. However, the reasoning behind this video seems highly favored for NK. If US troops and civilians, not to mention SK people, were killed by biological or nuclear weapons, the US would obliterate NK within hours. Both short range tactical and ICBM nuclear missiles likely would be launched. The reasoning would be to prevent further loss of US and SK life. I believe the US and SK have war gamed this scenario extensively to prevent exactly what you are describing. And I can't imagine China allowing NK to do anything like this.
As far as China "allowing" things, China does not control North Korea. It wishes it did! And constantly tries to subvert and take it over. It's why the regime is so paranoid. Both Kim Jong-Un's older brother AND uncle (by marriage) were Chinese assets and were executed accordingly.
This is totally correct. I was at AF Wargaming for a number of years and North Korea was an annual game with all of the combatant commands involved. China’s intervention would be immediate and likely long before any attack by NK Forces. Xi would not permit WMD this close to their borders. Kim has also been warned by the PRC that the US has a legal right to attack NK, given circumstances. This set off Kim’s ultimate fear of being killed and to this day does not sleep in the same bed twice.
Dropping a nuclear weapon into Pyongyang would not be all that effective because of its location. The mountainous region that surrounds would not cause the same damage as seen in Japan. Nuclear radiation and expanding cloud of contaminants would depend on several factors but would probably be limited to a the size of the weapon used.
Being that I am an ex tanker and was on rotation to Korea at one point, I will tell you there are a lot more than 50 abrams tanks in south Korea at any given time.
I'm not expert but Abrams tanks don't seem to have had much impact in Ukraine so I doubt they'd do much against the North Koreans especially since they've deployed a billion mines
@@alwaysdisputin9930 have we sent Abram’s to Ukraine? And if so are they the sepv3? But I do agree that they wouldn’t do much in Korea, or any mountainous areas for that matter. Tanks aren’t good in mountains
If we were so inclined to wage war with NK it would have to be an all out war without pulling any punches. That means we’d have to turn the whole northern peninsula into rubble and glass, and I’m all for that. Also if they nuked LA in retaliation i would also be okay with that.
The US military logistics are insane better than any country or empire in human history. the US military can easily invade any and I mean ANY country on earth with ease, but occupation is an entirely different question that’s way harder in the modern world.
@@thegodfather768 easily could Russias borders are far to big and you forget but Alaska is right next to Siberia they just wouldn’t stay to long and would get kicked quick without a large enough force
This has to be one of the least realistic "what if" videos I've ever watched. The more I watch the more I am baffled. This is like an idea for a video game. I had to double check this video wasn't put out on April 1st as a joke.
It has to be - any 'war' between the U.S. and North Korea is already unbelievable anyway as neither side has any real motive. The only way one would happen is by accident - in which case South Korea would get shelled and N.K. would get strangled.
Actually, this was previously an idea for a video game. The "Homefront" games were based around North Korea actually attacking and partly conquering the US.
Former Air Force Sergeant here, we can have all our US bomb birds in the Air and in the South Pacific in a day or two! This is a plan that we practice twice a year! Our Navy would do shore bombardment from afar with cruise missiles and decimate NK easily!
Preach sarge! They really went over the top with their inaccuracies on this one. The US are shown as almost 3rd world backwards military. Absolutely clueless on this video by the channel. Former METNAV active duty, Ammo reserves.
Fairly certain that any use of nuclear weapons against overseas US military assets would result in a quick call to China advising them to close their windows and get the washing in as their neighbours are about to have a massive BBQ.
Nukes used on North Korea would cause fallout in parts of China. It would basically be an act of war against *both* nations, even if the target is North Korea. North Korea would not get hit by nuclear weapons.
I would love to see a Chinese-American alliance. We need it at this point and yes I agree North Korea would be flattened in seconds after attempted strikes on guam or American bases
@@randomidk6141 Agreed: an alliance between the Republic of China and the United States would do quite well for the US, The Republic of China and honestly the world over as that island nation produces like 95% of the world's computer chips.
There's no way the Norths forces would succeed in such a push. There are many reasons, a combination of strategies developed by allied forces to deal with mass assault of troops, and the lack of North Korean logistics capability mean they would achieve little. They have no modern equipment, and access to barely any parts. It's thought that they dont have even hours of fuel in reserve for all their airforce let alone armoured vehicles if they are even functional. Their troop morale is low and they lack reliable equipment. North Korea is a tiny poor nation with very little manpower and manufacturing to go with it. All they have is their lmited range low yield nukes and standoff artillery aimed at Seoul. Size isn't everything, 1 for 1 comparisons do not work here, the souths army is more than a match because it's capability is high. Yes their army is large, but this ignores many weaknesses inherent in North Koreas armed forces. Communications are easily disrupted due to the small size of the country and age of the technology used, they also lack redundancy for powering these systems. The US would target the power grids, jam communications and generally ruin the Norths ability to issue orders - they can do this very quickly and no doubt have it all preplanned, thus the entire enemy force will be left confused with no initiative hours into the war. Most of the US operations in the beginning will be about sowing chaos.
This scenario was pretty good up until the point where North Korea freely used nukes on US forces but for some unfathomable reason the US did not immediately respond in kind especially since it is indicated that China has broken ties with North Korea. At the very least the US would use tactical nukes to hold off the massive North Korean assault across the DMZ.
@@oscar007999 The U.S. decreased their tactical nuke supply, but they still have a few hundred tactical warheads. More than enough to slaughter any force from NK. And besides, in wartime, we can always make more.
People who resort to eating bugs and who use oil from cats n rodents to preserve the wooden stocks & bodies of their rifles. There are youtube channels of defectors who thought the plane they arrived in Seoul in were time travel machines. DPRK has an average adult male height that is 2 to 3 inches shorter. The starvation in that place has literally changed genetic averages & no doubt brain proteins & general intelligence. Their nuke technology began from the AQ Khan network "nukes for hire" which got halted in the early 2000's. It would be horrific if in 2022 they could replicate Hiroshima at most, but the retaliation at a yield ratio of 100:1 would be unbelievable to people with state-run tv, limited hours of electricity, and no radio but state propaganda. They are literally living in the past and Coallition technology to them is likely witchcraft.
I would say a potential reason would be how close NK is to China. Regardless of their being allies, there is no way for China to know until the latter stages of a missile launch that the nuke is headed for NK and not them, which could risk escalation.
North Korea's logistics and actual military strength has already been commented on at length, but it's worth noting that mobilization for this hypothetical war would be impossible to hide. Seoul would still get flattened by conventional artillery, but there's no way the world is getting caught with its pants down.
I appreciated that the often overlooked likelihood that China would come down against North Korea rather than save them. North Korea is of rather limited usefulness to China and if they stepped out of line enough they would quickly become more useful as a diplomatic win by being crushed. To put it succinctly: China would LOVE to tell the world "call Beijing not DC when there is trouble" and putting an swift end to a rogue state would be a strong position to make this argument from, especially if they press a comparison to US action in the middle east.
100%. I was told that when the father was rattling the saber a bit too loudly, the Chinese Ambassador commented how quickly China could resolve the situation if it ever wanted. The Chinese would know this attack was coming and already resolved it before it started.
It's not just wanting prestige. The Chinese historically have viewed Korea as a subordinate, satellite state, like a colony. North Korea not being under Chinese control is a constant irritant to Beijing. On top of which, there's no way China would let South Korea, the US (and especially Japan) conquer North Korea and therefore have a pro-US regime and military right on the Korean-Chinese border for spies to come from and refugees to flee to.
China's only interest in NK is as a buffer state from US allied SK. NK has no other strategic interest for China. They certainly don't want to have to feed the North Korean people.
If anything China would want to replace the Kim dynasty with a puppet regime that it could keep a leash on. I could see a military junta be formed with the WPK still maintaining the government.
The relationship is deteriorating though, tensions are starting to get high between China and North korea. Really one of the major things preventing china from washing its hands of NK is the fact that they dont want US troops on the korean border. If the US and China could put aside their differences about the situation between themselves (Unfortunately trump saw to that not happening blaming them for the virus, the freakin oompa loompa) i imagine in about 10 to 15 years an extreme wake up call is gonna hit NK
The B-21 has yet to make it's first flight, and will not be available for several years. It will be a decade before it is available in the numbers needed to make a difference.
Dude, the US only has less then a handful of the B-21, mass production hasn't started, and testing isn't complete. We would never send it into combat until it is ready for combat and we have more to replace it should it be shot down. Which is another reason we wouldn't send it into NK, it is new technology, the Russians or Chinese would help them if it meant getting their hands on that new technology to reverse engineer it.
Yeah, they can feed and equip their military during peace time, how are they gonna do it in a shooting war. Plus defections would be very high, including generals and entire army divisions.
I can't even go along with that level. To reach the conclusions of this video would require a massive degradation of the forces, planning, and subsequent performance of the S. Korean and US militaries, but also of the general readiness of the civil government assets of S. Korea. It isn't a best case scenario, it's pure fantasy.

Iraq had the 4th largest standing army in the world in 1991 with Cold War era toys much like North Korea still has now, if not better, as well as chemical weapons and a battle hardened military... Yet, this would be even more of a turkey shoot than that ever was.
The only thing is Seoul is so close to NK while the iraqis had no real targets that close. It would cause quite a mess. Sure, it would be a turkey shoot but NK has enough junk to mess up South Korea for a long time.
Thing is, Saddam foolishly let the US-led coalition build up forces for six months ("Desert Shield") before the battle to liberate Kuwait began ("Desert Storm"). That huge number of allied troops made a big difference. In Korea the US has a small force by comparison; planning assumes weeks for transport ships to cross the Pacific and disembark at Pusan: exactly the port city this video's scenario takes out.
You fail to take into account the South Korean army in the scenario you describe. Kuwait had no real army to fight Iraq and the Saudi's offered only a bit of comfort. This would not be the case in Korea, the South Koreans would be fighting for their homes and they have what's believed to be the 6th strongest army in the world. The U.S. would not be the only foe for North Korea, and might actually be the lesser of two giants it would have to face in the scenario outlined above. @@IrishCarney

This!! I mean no human being with 2 brain cells to rub together would think DPRK could hold back the top 2 economic and military powers and South Korea and Japan combined.. TF were they smoking??
The biggest mistake any adversary country could make is to underestimate US and South Korean military capabilities. The opening salvo from North Korea supposes millions of South Koreans killed, although highly unlikely, A more likely scenario if that actually succeeded is the complete obliteration of North Korea by South Korean nuclear strike assets, that only the most naive would believe doesn't exist. Plus, US nuclear submarines stationed off North Korea would strike within minutes. The thought that North Korea could actually destroy a US military base is unlikely. Any attack on a US military asset in that region would be met by a swift, comprehensive and terminating attack. This video describes a slow response by the US and South Korea which is simply unrealistic. Let's face it, North Korea would be receiving a devastating response including tactical nuclear weapons within minutes of any hostile action from them - and they know it.
If there's one thing that we've learned from Russia's bungling in Ukraine it's that logistics are paramount. The North Koreans may have a lot of artillery but I wonder how easily they'd be able to resupply them.
That's only a tiny portion of what NATO can do. Not having a *direct* influence / engagement against NATO, is giving Russia a much needed "easier" time, even though its still failing at something that was supposed to be done in literal days. If NATO were to engage, Russia would've been beaten back to their border, or thrown nuclear armaments by now if NATO was directly engaged.
Russia is winning though. Ukraine had aid from nato and Russia is using their weaker military. Moreover, ukraine is so devastated in the spam less then 2 months...
Buddy Russia is not even using thyre Advanced Techs in war, thyre using Old soviet era tanks, artillery, Armoured Vehicles and still winning The only latest technology thyre using in war is missiles,EMP vehicles They knows NATO is spying on thyre army's advanced weapons and techs so they use old ones to fool them lol
this future conflict wouldn't even be around if Truman would have let MacArthur keep pushing them back to China during the Korean war instead of falling back to the 38th parallel.
The one part of this that is very real is the amount of artillery NK has. But that also makes for a target rich environment for CAS type aircraft. I'm sure if I realize this, US military officials have to and are prepared to bring forth these air assets. The other thing to note is that NK does not have large reserves of food, in fact they struggle to feed their population. I don't think NK could sustain a push into SK without capturing food resources in SK. Kind of pointless if you have contaminated those sources. You also create problems when you contaminate territory you want to traverse with nuclear fallout. You are essentially going to deny yourself that battle space for a period of three weeks and will have to concentrate your forces into fewer corridors. This turns into a target rich environment for American air assets.
US would first eliminate NK artillery I imagine in the first 15 minutes of conflict if you have any doubt about US ability to inflict grievous harm ask Russia.
DPRK doesn't have that much in the way of artillery, either. They have the artillery pieces, but do they have the munitions? And the logistics capability to move those shells to where they need to go? They don't have the electrical capacity to provide consistent electricity to the capital city 24 hours a day. They don't have the fuel capacity to run a transportation network. Where are they going to get the energy for serious logistical moves? North Korean artillery is a paper tiger. And you think nukes deny areas but forgot that biologicals do the same.
While this scenario would depict what would happen if nukes weren't used in retaliation, in reality, the US would respond with nuclear attacks. Pyongyang would be turned into a radioactive crater immediately as the first target along with known strategic sites. This doesn't even count the unknown weapons that were possibly deployed for the SDI initiative that could be aboard US spy satellites, submarines, and in South Korean bases. Plus, even with the million man army the North claims to have, they have zero battle experience, zero war experience, and zero invasion experience. Most would be poorly trained at best, poorly equipped with limited supplies, and even worse, morale in the north, from what is known, is some of the lowest of any standing army. Most members of their military are more focused on civil and agriculture work with a vast majority taking a military role just to get their next rationed meal. Against a superior fighting force, or even a mediocre, they'd be wiped out quickly and most deserting. Most probably would quickly desert as soon as they got across the DMZ alive, and most deserting would be instantly killed by their own men, which would further thin their numbers of effectiveness. None of these known factors work in the north's favor. Numbers of people don't win wars. Neither do nuclear weapons and threats. And trading Seoul for LA... That's a far fetched scenario because even with the missile systems the north has acquired over the years from Iran, most of those are out of date and ineffective against modern missile defense systems. Their own efforts have been based on getting lucky at best, because their tests have all been inconclusive or even incoherent as far as if they could have a successful missile program. Factor all this in, and chances are, whatever pipe dream Kim Jong Un would think he had of victory against South Korea would evaporate within hours.
I don't think the Americans would nuke such a large civilian population but instead use low powered nukes against any NK government buildings away from civilian areas.
Wouldn't even need that. They got 30 nukes, I'd bet missle defence can take down 30 nukes (they probably won't work anyhow) US wouldn't need nukes - their use would be vengeance only. US would butcher NK limited 70-80 year old tanks and MIGs, even just hand to hand, vs a starving ill equipped army with no combat experience. Only issue besides securing the limited nukes, would be the artillery - and that's not due to the damage to the US, which would be very limited, it's because it would greatly damage populated cities in S Korea, our ally. They have no idea they exist only because the US allows it...
I'm sorry, but you honestly believe the US would not protect their bases with the bomb? Especially after it's been hit 1st. Attack subs in the area will decimate any ground forces with cruise missiles, and so would the air force. This is at best a best scenario for North Korea
Yes people will say Biden will do nothing but if he does that would completely ruin his Presidency even more and the South Koreans would never surrender to a nation that is directly opposed to their way of life
@@oscarhess1376 his presidency would be ruined if he did nothing. If he reacts strongly, he will gain a lot of support with the far right and even more support with independents from the south. If he does nothing, it will show weakness and I don't think that's him

This entire scenario is basically dependent on whether or not the North Koreans can get undercover agents in the South Korea without being detected. Not only that but it also is extremely unlikely. Despite all of the saber rattling and all of the posturing North Korea has only one major goal. And that is simply to survive. They won’t admit it but the North Koreans know that they cannot engage the United States in battle. It’s more than likely that if an operation like this were to take place it would literally spell V complete and total destruction of North Korea. Also if they launch nuclear weapons I highly doubt the United States would have any real reservations about firing nuclear weapons back. If anything the United States would probably fire a single missile which by the way usually carry multiple war heads and most likely hit certain cities in the like in North Korea. For instance the capital city of Pyongyang and the port city of Incheon.
No, the US would 100% not fire nuclear weapons at North Korea for a very simple reason: China is right next to them. The nuclear fallout would spill into China and be considered an act of war. A similar dynamic exists with the *much* larger Ukraine, where any nukes used would affect either Russia or NATO.
No the US would 100% fire nuclear missiles and we would tell China to put up or shut up because any war with North Korea will be because China wants to invade Taiwan so we would probably be firing nuclear missiles at China at the same time.
I don’t agree with the chemical attacks. Anyone whose spent time in Korea and the DMZ understands this won’t happen. North Korea will have to gain supplies from these large cities for logistics reasons. Doesn’t make sense to spread chemical weapons and risk killing your own soldiers that are needed for the push South. Time is of the essence for North Korea to take the country.
In 30-50 years Kim will invade when he is about to die of old age and disease. Not while he is young. Or he will change and decide to change NK into SK merger and open up reunification peace talks.
One thing not mentioned is the physical state of the average North Korean soldier. From what I have seen and read, lack of food in the country has resulted in many soldiers suffering from malnutrition. How long would they last in any sort of hard, sustained fighting, especially when U.S. & South Korean forces would be hammering their supply lines? Also, I have to wonder what kind of condition NK vehicles and aircraft are in. The majority of their weapons systems were considered modern back when Lyndon Johnson was president. With all the sanctions on that country, I have to figure the spare part situation is not very good.
I love it how each section turnes into "the NK air force is decimated, but it overcomes the Japanese, US and SK air forces." Or "the artillery has been decimated, but the NK guns make it impossible for the US and SK SF to make any headway". Are you out of your mind? You want realism? The first wave has been expected, and is stopped as has been US doctorine since the Korean War started, then the turkey shoot with the migs begins which would already give the US air superiority. Then all of a sudden, 4 nukes somehow make it through all of the defenses and THEN the US fights back? You know nothing john snow.
There's a story about Soviet troops in the Winter War. After finally breaking Finnish lines, the starved Soviets stopped to eat soup and the Fins regrouped causing to soviet assault to break. I'd imagine it may be similar here.
The front lines are, but NK can't send the soldiers to the front lines without the west seeing it a mile away. The DMZ would be drastically reinforced if NK armies set up shop on the other side.
Actually, you're more like a trip wire to force our hand in entering the war. We destroyed two nations for two buildings getting trashed. Think what we wold do if we lost 40,000 of our troops in SK?
I couldn't stop laughing while watching this clueless and poorly written video. 1. In Korea, US military accepts the command of the ROK Defense Ministry, also known as OPCON. Korea is the only place on earth where US has agreed to accept the foreign command of its troops. 2. China won't interfere because of two reasons. A. It already has a secret non-intervention agreement with the ROK. B. North Korea would nuke Beijing if the PLA troops crossed the Yalu river. 3. There is a reason why ROK commands 60% of global howitzer market; ROK has thousands of howitzers and has the economy of scale to outperform and underbid anyone, including both Germans and Americans. 4. @@ConnorMiniken North Korean nukes are meant to be used as nuclear land mines to take out invading ROK troops on North's soil, not to nuke Seoul. ROK(South Korea to you) has the densest ballistic missile defense in the world, so good that UAE dumped US system and ordered $3.5 billion worth of Korean ballistic missile interceptor system after Korean system defeated Israeli system in a live-fire shoot out contest, Saudi Arabia will announce its order later this year. Beside, the US pledged to drop 80 nukes on North Korea once the first case of nuclear warhead use is detected.
I don't think NK would nuke Beijing, their literal sole, & only "ally". I think PLA crossing the river would be just like the original Korean war, to back NK pathetic, malnutrition, weak, sorry logistic supply, outdated & inferior in literally everything North Korean military. China if they wanted to at any point could take over North Korea, they just don't want the hassle of then having to take care of even more multi-million starving population, industrializing, and modernizing an entire other country. In my opinion atleast, they probably like the things the way they are, using BK as a buffer state against NATO, like Russia did with the eastern block of USSR.
Overestimation of NK and underestimation of SK and USA. The US would have to use nuclear weapons in response to a nuclear strike by NK. It would send a terrible message if they didn't. Any tinpot dictator with nukes would think they can use them without fear of retaliation. Bad job on this scenario,
Exactly attacking if NK attacks SK they will be fighting FOUR COUNTRIES that have the best armies in the world with USA's overwhelming air power and SK and Chinese troops with Japanese troops. Also China and US will surround the North Korea sea in with their navies that outclass NK. Then Chinese air force , South Korean air force , Japanese air force. NK with turn into dust.
@@flawless_Cowboy nah it's the same as us fighting Cuba... If you've ever read revelations it'd be similar for the North Koreans an absolute bloodbath. They be slaughtered in mass within a week by the USA airforce
I’m positive that NK will have worse logistics issues than Russia in the invasion of Ukraine. I highly doubt that their equipment is maintained and functional.
This video is a poor description of how a war with Noth Korea will go. If North Korea used Nuclear weapons, the USA would respond with nuclear weapons with it's goal being to end North Korea. The nukes would be tactical precision strikes but nukes would be used. The CIA and Special Forces would eventually hunt Kim down (Saddam Hussein/Osama Bin Laden) and eradicate him. This video didn't mention drones, cruise missles, steath fighter aircraft, smart artillery, navel assets etc. There would be a lot of South Korean casualties but in short North Korea would be overwhelmed. I remember this guy saying Russia would dominant Ukraine the war would be a short war. 🤔
the west does not have tactical nukes, but using chemical weapons would provoke a nuclear strike from US subs in an attempt to decapitate North Korea's nuclear capability (not so much attempt as success)
The US has run countless scenarios and war games and everything listed in this scenario…and found that the average time to total destruction of North Korean military would take about 42 minutes…with what’s available and nearby. This video also forgets air, sea, and undersea assets. If you don’t think we have nuke subs off the coast and stealth aircraft available…to just wreck face…and if you don’t think we wouldn’t use low yield tac nukes on every major NK asset if they launched nukes…you are sorely mistaken The “but” here…is that in those 42 minutes…they could ravage several major South Korean cities.
Completely agree. If NK launched any nukes we'd just glass them. I truly can not imagine any president pacifist or worse not responding with counter nukes. Could we lose LA or maybe another city or two? Absolutely. But, would NK exist afterwards? No.
There’s no way North Korea would stand any chance against the American and Chinese military working together. That’s gotta be 75% of the world’s military strength. I think you are massively overestimating what North Korea is capable of.
True, but with the way North Korea works I'm sure Jong is willing to enlist every person in NK to fight, causing things to last longer than they should. Also I doubt the USA and China would work together in a situation like this.
North Korea boasts 1.4 million soldiers. It's soldiers are mostly normal citizens that did compulsory military training which included how to shoot a gun. The soldiers have to maintain their own uniforms, and are given basic rations of rice, potato, and corn. As well as being demoralized and severely undernourished, the soldiers are emotionally compromised and deeply confused, many traumatized by the cruelty of the regime which conflicts with the human instinct to care for each other. The soldiers, 17-35yo officially, and with an average height of 4.6", are malnourished and lacking in comparable physical strength. In an actual war scenario, the North Korean troops and army would fall apart toward the end of day-1. Lacking modern warfare and tactical practice, a conventional war would be over day 4. The moment the regime launches just one nuke, all military bases and pyonyang would face incineration about 25 minutes later. Regardless of the damage to the united states and south korea, North Korea would be destroyed. this video is not accurate.
This video isn't taking into account the large Air Force contingent located on Digo Garcia (Indian Ocean) and the huge stockpile of bunker busting bombs. The Marine Contingent located in Northern Australia that use to be stationed in Okinawa. With all that the U.S. can move within hours of a war, the North Koreans would be defeated in a matter of hours not days or months.
So far in the video you haven't mentioned how malnourished the North Korean army is. I think that's going to be a huge factor in any kind of ground war.
Before I watch this...it would be over QUICK. No nukes would be used. Your video on if somehow they had an ICBM to reach our west coast was good on intercepting it.
The US will respond with a nuclear weapon if a treaty partner such as south Korea is hit with one. This isn't debatable. This video means to tell me that North Korea can use chemical, nuclear and biological weapons against the South and American bases in Korea but the USA stays with conventional weapons? 😂😂😂😂
I can see the north korean troops pushing south, coming across south korean culture, wealth, and food availability, and quickly realizing how good they have it compared to the poverty of the north.
You cannot convince me that the strength of both South Korea and the U.S weren't severely downplayed for a more interesting video

@@tetraxis3011 They would still get decimated.

Sadly, the fact that the ROK is a military superpower is a top secret for some reason, including Infographics.
Also china is north koreas only ally ,sooooo I highly doubt they would step in, to defend South Korea .
Exactly, that's ridiculous. That's a movie, not reality.
It would be noticed very quickly, but north korea would probably get the attack off because they would just use plainclothes suicide attackers armed with the chemical agents that would knowingly infect themselves, and they probably have a large number of spies in most south korean cities stockpiling the materials needed to manufacture the weapons.
thats what you get for thinking
Overestimating is more accurate than underestimating I think
Don't underestimate North Korea by comparing them to Russia. The culture and mentality is totally different. These people's entire lives are for the military and they've been programmed to believe the US is basically satan their entire lives. Asian warrior's honour is different.
Ukraine is the third strongest army in Europe. The error there is just in western media and the way they decided to run the story. Concerning NK they already defeated USA once, so....
Would think they keep their stuff pretty well maintained. But I would question the moral and the willingness to fight of the soldiers and in all scenarios Seoul would fall pretty badly.
I‘m not one for underestimating military capacity, but I do feel NK was overestimated here.

Fallout from a nuclear attack on South Korean cities would likely affect the Chinese coastline. China would respond much faster than the USA. Invading immediately. North Korea would become another province of China within a week. Also, airbases in Japan would be able to respond to an attack on Seoul in about an hour. Yeah this channel is dumb
Wouldn’t dropping a nuclear warhead in North Korea also contaminate South Korea too with radiation fallout, and ocean/water poisoning?
Dropping a nuclear weapon into Pyongyang would not be all that effective because of its location. The mountainous region that surrounds would not cause the same damage as seen in Japan. Nuclear radiation and expanding cloud of contaminants would depend on several factors but would probably be limited to a the size of the weapon used.

"What North Korea vs. USA War Would Actually Look Like"
*South Korea becomes an island*
Exactly
I completely agree...
Even Russia is struggling with little to no gains in Ukraine.
You could even just eavesdrop and prevent offensive actions with targeted attacks.
If NK can barely feed itself during peacetime, I imagine they would have their fair share of crisis by starting a war.
Damm I think you made a very good case
This scenario was pretty good up until the point where North Korea freely used nukes on US forces but for some unfathomable reason the US did not immediately respond in kind especially since it is indicated that China has broken ties with North Korea. At the very least the US would use tactical nukes to hold off the massive North Korean assault across the DMZ.
Sadly, if I recall, while the US has certain warheads whose yields can be dialed down, they no longer have a stock of tactical nuclear munitions.
Especially when u also consider that the US used nukes twice for less.
@@oscar007999 The U.S. decreased their tactical nuke supply, but they still have a few hundred tactical warheads. More than enough to slaughter any force from NK.
And besides, in wartime, we can always make more.

If the US and China could put aside their differences about the situation between themselves (Unfortunately trump saw to that not happening blaming them for the virus, the freakin oompa loompa) i imagine in about 10 to 15 years an extreme wake up call is gonna hit NK
this is 7 months ago, US now have B-21 raider , the most advance stealth bomber and its also nuclear capable..

The only thing is Seoul is so close to NK while the iraqis had no real targets that close. It would cause quite a mess. Sure, it would be a turkey shoot but NK has enough junk to mess up South Korea for a long time.

Oh, they know. This is clickbait not a real school.
NK cant. They barely have enough fuel to fight for 3 to 4 days.

This is the only well thought out comment I have read here.
You disagree with the video with very reasonable reasons. Unlike other comments
Like in Afghanistan, we would bomb the North Koreans one day, then air drop sammiches the next.
Wasn't this the same channel that posted a Russia invades Ukraine video like 5 years ago?
And predicted the Russians would just waltz in, and after a coupe of days, total victory. The video hasn’t aged well.
N. Korea hasn't fought anybody in 70yrs. I don't beleive they'd be as efficient, even early on, as you guys are making it seem here.
Actually you know what, they can nuke LA, I’d be fine with that
I don't think the Americans would nuke such a large civilian population but instead use low powered nukes against any NK government buildings away from civilian areas.

You realize the moment NK used a single nuclear device the entire country would just be glassed instantly right?

I don’t agree with the chemical attacks. Anyone whose spent time in Korea and the DMZ understands this won’t happen.
This is all assuming that the N.Korean army doesn't fold.
They would probably be surrendering with bowls once their supplies run out
Wile E. Coyote has better luck with rockets than North Korea. I think we'd have this in the bag.
You know nothing john snow.

the west does not have tactical nukes, but using chemical weapons would provoke a nuclear strike from US subs in an attempt to decapitate North Korea's nuclear capability (not so much attempt as success)
The US has run countless scenarios and war games and everything listed in this scenario…and found that the average time to total destruction of North Korean military would take about 42 minutes…with what’s available and nearby.
Why wouldn't america just send a few tactical nukes and other long range munitions into north korea
I've always thought N. Korea's arms were shoddy quality at best. No oil for their equipment, no real food, no fuel, etc how could they compete?
Ig they spent more money on unclear and train their soldier like beast.
This is just sensationalism. Way overestimating North Korean capabilities and underestimating allied capabilities.
Extremely overestimated but underestimating is never the answer strategically!
Remember when we mobilized like half the US military in Korea just to cut down a tree on the DMZ?
