  • With my FB6 Civic completed with full bolt on hardware upgrades, it’s time to get the software set up. Hondata is the tuning software that I find to be best paired with these vehicles as you will get the best tune for the price, and there is also room to grow should you want to build the engine or even turbocharge it. With that being said, not everyone knows how to get engines running right, which is why I hit up TuningByNick.
    If you guys are interested in getting your car taken care of by Nick, feel free to reach out to him in the following ways:

      Why are you getting engine knock, running a stock ECU with a modded engine? These engines can handle knock quite well, but it will eventually lead to oil consumption.

    • @LUVgamingOrDie
      @LUVgamingOrDie 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      As long as you have a good tuner who doesn't push the power to high it's perfectly safe especially on naturally aspirated engines. Just remember any power added over stock will make you lose reliability no matter what.

    Hey man good vid as always 🙏🏻 I have a question regarding gas octanes specifically shell 91 vs petro 94. I see that your car is tuned on 94oct, what was your reason? I know for a fact that 94oct or higher is used for FI cars to eliminate or minimize to some extent detonation or pre detonation. In your opinion what are the pros and cons of both octanes in racing/tuning (performance) perspective? Or even economical use for n/a or FI engines.

    • @RagingBullNuts
      @RagingBullNuts ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Higher octane can get away with more timing which equates to more power(to a certain extent).

    • @jesselee4405
      @jesselee4405 ปีที่แล้ว

      94 looks better on a graph, or maybe they just have 94 octance in Canada

    • @truth4reel
      @truth4reel ปีที่แล้ว

      Higher octane rating = higher detonation threshold, therefore more advance ignition timing and higher compression ratio can be run for more power and torque

    So i noticed while Nick was tuning that you had your VSA, Hill start, ABS, and traction control. I had these exact lights pop up after swapping my clutch out. I actually still have them. How did you get rid of them? We’re thinking it’s something to do with the steering column

    • @milanmastracci
      @milanmastracci  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So those lights illuminated at Nick's shop since the front wheels were spinning (on the dyno), while the rear wheels were stationary. So you most likely have a faulty wheel speed sensor that needs replacing. I would get an OBD scanner and see what codes come up.

      To run a larger TB you need cams, a larger plenum, a good header and exhaust. 72mm even on a stock kfrank or k24 will negatively affect low throttle power, ie bog. The stock 62mm TB is well enough to support any kseries bolt on engine

In EU we use DIN correction so it doesnt matter what outside temp is. If you dyno at 35c temp you will get +2.5% correction, if temp is -10c you will get -2.5% correction of actual power.

      When I made this video, aftermarket K24Z camshafts didn't exist.

    Huh my 9th gen accord sport makes more than that and it’s a “full bolt on” car

      You're running a completely different engine. You're basically running a 10th gen Honda Civic Si 1.5L Turbo engine. It is a lot harder to make power from a car that is not factory equipped with a turbocharger.

      @@milanmastracci my car doesn’t have a turbo, it’s a k24w I said 9th gen accord not 10th gen lol but I think the reason I’m making more power is because of a lot higher compression and GDI. However I do love the 9th gen Si i just wished there was more all motor potential there

      Oh that's my mistake! Yes the higher compression ratio will for sure help! The engine build for this car I have going is relying on higher compression pistons to make that extra juice

    I don't like how you made option 2 sound bad to make Dyno tuning sound better. Street tuning is far more superior to dyno tuning. Yes dyno tuning is much safer and realistically a better option because it's safer but still not as good as being in the elements on the hard ball. I have always done street tuning and have never had any issues what so ever.
