I took a chance and brought one when it was launched, having had it for just over 2 weeks now, its a bit of a beast, I have printed lots of pla, petg, and have more then 138 hours of printing abs.
It has been fantastic ! For the price of it I really don't think you can go wrong, and just to let others know I have more that 16 machines now and 7 years of printing experience, and I feel like this is a good machine, its not perfect, but no machine is.

@@David-ty6my I own Bambu machines and the Q1P, and since I print mainly ABS, there’s just no comparison. It heats up so fast and maintains high temperatures, absolutely no warping. As someone who uses Klipper mainly, Q1P is a lot easier to work with, with Bambu printers you have to accept all the software annoyances. Yes, the print quality on the Q1P is not as good, even at 4000 perimeter accels you can still see ghosting, I think I’ll have to do something about the belts, but other than that, I absolutely love this machine. It costs a lot less than the A1 and barely more than the A1m before the price drop. I know the Q1P costs more in other places, but yeah, it’s still really competitive. You’re probably buying this machine for its high temp capabilities, and Bambus just can’t even compare. If you print other materials, ehh… the quality is definitely worse, if you’re just a 3D printing enjoyer, and has way more budget, then maybe the Bambus. But if you like working with Klipper (you don’t have to for this machine, it’s an “option”), or if you do high temps (ABS is a lot more hassle free compared to say PLA, and the material just has better performance) then you can seriously consider this machine.
Also the customer service for Qidi is unparalleled, a lot more enjoyable than Bambu. The build quality isn’t far off that of Bambus, and finally yeah, it’s all about the price point and the unique feature. The chamber heater is absolutely not a gimmick, it just makes printing ABS so quick and easy, preheats in like 10 minutes, an enclosure and a bed can not compare. Also, I will personally rank the Q1P higher in terms of software and user experience, mainly because I’m more comfortable around Klipper, and I like customizations. The web interface is also better than all the Bambu annoyance.
So yeah, other than the print quality, which probably? maybe? can be fixed, everything is a win for Q1P in my opinion.

      @@jerrymk6846 how about multi material?

    • @jerrymk6846
      @jerrymk6846 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

@@David-ty6my None, but I don’t need it, and I believe most don’t. For simple layer change filament changes, or some embedded text with 2 or 3 layers, swapping by hand is totally viable, and good enough for occasional use (other than you’ll be sitting around the printer for a few minutes, it’s not as hard as it looks, as Prusa Slicer has the single extruder multimaterial system, which automatically purges, unloads and loads the filament, you can do a swap in like 10 seconds). Yes, it’s a downside, but Bambu’s enclosed printer’s AMS unit costs more than the Q1P in certain regions, which is just a plastic case and 4 filament drives. How’s that?
It can’t do everything sure, but it’s hard to ignore the price point. Also, Klipper will allow you to add your own multi material system, if you need that on a budget.

I went ahead and bought the Q1 Pro and i am quite satisfied with it. I don't like the bed leveling knobs but that is my only gripe and QIDI has improved the printer with an external Ethernet port on rhe back (which I use) and the flex plate is now easy to line up. For filament changing i only use the Load function. For the lack of a knob on the door I use a small piece of packing tape stuck on the side to help open the door when I need to.

Excellent review as always! I hope the other youtubers in the space are taking notes, because your video format is so information dense, and your ranking site is awesome.
The only critique i could possibly come up with is your audio sounds a little poppy. You might have your mic gain up too high. If you did that to combat background noise, you might want to try lowering your gain and running your vocal track through Auphonic (I use this for talking head videos and it does amazing audio cleanup and volume normalization. Does a really good job of getting rid of peak noises that blow out the levels.

Very nice and thorough review, which I found very useful. Great amount of details, and superb comparison between similar choices. The CoreXY enclosed 3D-printer market is becoming heavily saturated, and especially from June, the competition will be fierce. We already have BambuLab's offers with the cartesian A1 becoming available in May, and Creality ironed out most of their kinks in the K1 with the K1C, which is already available now. Sovol SV08 is coming the same time as this QiDi Q1 Pro - for Europe where I live, that's early June - and many others are already on the market or on the way to market.
One small note: You deserve a better microphone with better recording software, as your current microphone has weird glitches, which at times makes it sound like autotune was applied by someone who was drunk. The metallic sound which comes at times, reveals that it's due to low bitrate between the wireless mic and its receiver - but maybe that's due to signal interference. In any case, you deserve something better sounding and better performing. Keep up the good work!

21:00 - I disagree greatly; having heated filament backing up into your ptfe and other parts is bad and causes jams/clogs and sticks to everything as it backs out. I have 14 printers (Anycubic, Bambu, and Qidi), none of my Qidi Tech printers jam or clog like Anycubic (and some times Bambu) do. I hope Qidi Tech never changes this.

I find it odd that they list the print volume on the Amazon listing only in inches. While I am American, my brain does 3D printers in metric. I am pretty sure this is true for everyone. I had to convert their inches to mm just to see how it compared to a Bambu printer for print area. Same with temp. They say "140F." I have no idea what that means in terms of 3D printer temp.

Is there a reason you still haven't awarded the Q1 Pro the best enclosed 3D printer in its class? The Price has remained low and they have made physical and software improvements including a new print bed alignment that has 2 stops.
This printer is much better than the K1C from everything I've seen.

@@riba2233 i use stuff like tweezers and pliers to collect dirt and failed parts from my printer quite often. The issue is that when the printer is connected to power there will always 230v on this device, in America I could just turn the plug and it would be fine because there is only voltage on it in one position in Europe its always. If there would be only voltage on it when the heater is turned on i would be fine but since its always its an issue for me. If you plan to print with ABS or ASA, the Qidi with its heated chamber is a better choice. Otherwise, the workflow and small details of the P1S are better. However, one thing I don’t like about both the P1P and P1S is the lack of a touchscreen.

After my experience with the Artillery Sidewinder X4 Pro I think a reviewer needs to live with the printer for at least a week or longer. Maybe the machine has problems that don't rear their ugly head until after at least a week. My X4 Pro started having layer shift problems around that time. Then today my fan shroud broke.

Hopefully I won't offend Aurora with this. How old is she? To me, she looks like she is in her early teens. If she is, she is going to go far in life. For someone this young, her understanding and testing process is far advanced that she uses compared to anyone else her age or older for that matter. Keep up the good work. My only complaint is to me she speaks in a monotone voice and it makes me a little sleepy 😆. Good job Aurora, keep it up.

She is perfect the way she is because this is her style and if you listen carefully you can tell when she is impressed or excited. She is masterfully knowledgeable and no BS. I know everyone changes but I hope she stays this ways for as long as possible. It's her dependability that makes her unique and the reason why she is this way.
