Can't believe they ball hinged the head again. I thought they abandoned that already by now, since all 3.0 figures have the double ball peg. Other than that, great figure. Need it.
This figure is an absolute masterpiece; quality joints, robust shoulder pads, perfect balance (even with the tail), excellent attention to detail, and the right colors; even the face looks as if drawn by Toriyama himself; it's been a long time coming (I blame Super for the lack of basic Namek/Androids figures) but finally, the BEAST is here: Frieza's 2nd Form, one of the ogres of DBZ (right up there with A13 and Broly); the best SH Figuarts of 2023. 11/10.

Good to see something different in the Dragon Ball SHFiguarts line, hope they’ll make a Yadrat Goku soon, it’s the one I’ve been waiting for a while. Also fav transformation is the last one, but make it mecha 😎
Wow this figure looks great, i'd say overall the pros outweigh the cons for sure. And this is also just a really cool form of Frieza that we dont ever really see in figure form, especially with this quality/articulation. Also, one thing to mention, not sure if you noticed, but his head can look WAY down really good. Like he can really bury his chin in his chest.
This was my favourite design for Frieza! I remember I was kinda dissapointed he got small when he transformed 😅 Though was more dissapointed that he didn't keep his horns in his 4th form! As he had horns in all previous 3.
Final Form Frieza will always be just perfect for me👌🏻 Golden and Black are dope as well especially since it doesn’t changer his shape I’m not a fan of a buff Frieza I feel he works best when he’s small😂
I think the shoulderpads are neat and would definitely work well for saiyan armor. But for this form? I dunno, they irk me. Frieza's shoulderpads are supposed to move with the rest of his arm, I'm sure. So it would have been better had they been attached to his arms instead of his chest if you ask me.
@@AnthonysCustoms I think any image I link here gets auto-filtered by the system, so I can't provide visual reference. But when I google 'Second Form Frieza', the pictures I see do have the pad more flush and attached to the shoulder and arm. Like the manga panel with him on a knee- the pad seems kinda fused to his deltoid and deforms with the movement of his arm. Funnily enough, the third form actually seems to cause them to split from the arms and turn them into proper shoulderpads.
I really want full power frieza and mecha frieza. Personally, those are my favorite 2. We better get at least full power because that buff form is too good
Awesome figure! Regarding favorite forms it's definitely a toss up between this one and his final 100% bulky form. Would definitely love to see a King Cold as well
I've seen a couple people heat, bend and then glue the index finger on the 'peace' hand to turn it into a perfect middle finger hand lol so I definitely don't think you were the only one
Kinda agree with everything here especially about the lack of paint, but I will say I actually don’t mind the thigh sculpt thing mostly because I like the way it keeps the musculature going up the leg until the swivel itself as opposed to being broken straight in half like the marvel figure you showed. That’s kind of why I like the sculpts for many mafex figures too despite the lack of good thigh swivels. I also know that when taking pics or posing you won’t really notice it too much, that’s even more true for the characters with pants.
Solid review, hit all the points. I love the fact this figure has a matte finish but I do wish Tamashii Nations would start incorporating more paint and shading into their figures again. Other than that, this is a very nice release 🔥
My favorite Frieza form is actually this one. The horns look so good and i love that he was actually intimidating in this form, bis voice wasn't so squeaky and dumb, he wasn't tiny. He actually looked like a villain to be afraid of. Also when i firet saw second form Frieza stab Krillin on one horn i freaked out.
@@AnthonysCustoms I actually found to only have problems with both the coolers and three of the buus I bought, all coolers had a wobbly left hip joint and loose hips, and all super buus had loose ankles. Yet both second form Frieza's I bought were perfect, for the first time since purchasing Figuarts DBZ figures, they actually made one I had not a single articulation issue with it, also has a wider range of articulation than Cooler. Better neck articulation range, it can look down much further and up if you use the ball hinge correctly by moving the neck slightly forward then moving the head ball hinge up and though it's slightly more work can actually get every pose a double ball peg can get when comparing it to buus and coolers head articulation. Four arm swivel, wider ankle pivot, better knee bend, especially knee forward locking, additional tail joint etc. For Frieza's tail, try removing it and using a hair dryer and or hot water and then attach it, should solve the looseness issue, did for my Cooler.
@@Amon0016 I got lucky with Cooler but I've had that same wobbly ankle issue with Super Buu. I sold my Buu recently and don't even miss it. Second form Frieza's way more enjoyable anyways.
When I saw that ball hinge that just dissatisfied me as I thought the bigger figures get the double ball peg, although all of the sh figuarts line needs double ball peg at this point it’s cheap and stupid that they don’t move well with that hinge.
I really, really, really want a 2.0 regular Final Form Frieza next. I know we probably won't for a while, and I expect to get 100% and Mecha-Frieza first, but yeah, my favorite form is Final Form, and the 1.0 just doesn't do it for me. It aged well compared to its contemporaries, but it still aged pretty harshly. Give me a good 2.0, make him as expensive as First Form Frieza and just use that price point to give him some extra accessories, like a death beam and different tail parts (arced) and such.
@@omegashenron8 No, a 2.0. Because they haven't made one. The only ones we've gotten are repaints and those don't count as 2.0. All the Final Form Frieza figures we had in the SHF lines have thus far been 1.0s.
@@omegashenron8 You're partially right. They made new faces for the Resurrection release (which are also used for the more recent Fourth Form release), so you're not entirely wrong. But I still don't consider that a full 2.0, which we need tbh.
Golden Frieza, they’re doing a vacu-chrome Cooler, so I’d imagine they’re going to reuse moar of that mold for a Golden Frieza, by my god it’ll be fingerprint magnet like their Daft Punk figures
My favorite Frieza is the Trunks Saga look. Man, Tamashii Nations really needs to make a figuarts Frieza from the Trunks saga along with Goku's outfit from that saga.

Anthony, I don't think the pink that people complaining about is the bright hot pink color, but the pinkish purple of the face. The pinkish purple in the center of his face (where his nose and mouth are) is supposed to be the same color as his neck, hands, and feet. Maybe it's just your camera, but they look like totally different colors.
I wonder if they could have seat the shoulder pad inside the butterfly joint so it moves with the shoulder. That pad is suppose to be part of his arm iirc.
Not sure if it's the camera, but, the main "purple" area of the face looks like a different colour from the neck/hands/feet, when they're all supposed to be the same colour...Is it that way in person? It looks more noticeable than the painted pink areas you mentioned.
is anyone getting his left arm tight and squeak?? After minutes of testing poses and articulations is becoming tightier and squeaker for me at the shoulder rotation.
In the UK 2 fingers up is also profanity so still somewhat offensive here. Favourite form of Frieza is Final Form and similarly the figure I want next is a full power buff Frieza. Personally cant wait to get this release, aesthetically proportions and faces look amazing akin to Cooler bar the lack of shading (again).
Now Bandai just needs to release a frieza black and a ultra ego Vegeta and maybe a reissue of ultra instinct Goku so we can get some displays from the manga

I dunno if anyone noticed, but the neck, hands and feet should have the same color tone with the face. Its not the same as what was promoted or even in the picture in the box nor is it anime accurate. Regardless, it looks like an amazing figure, just a little touch up on color tone though.
Honestly I really really want a cyborg freiza.. that's always been my favorite design but 3rd form Frieza has always been my favorite of the organic original forms.. I love the bizarre ugly forms the most tho I feel like the 3rd form fig is gonna be wonky on a technical level and probably not be great in terms of articulation and standing on its own... Gimme cyborg Frieza lol.. he's so damn cool looking.
Someone on reddit modified his hand so it is giving the finger. For the question of the day, 3rd form is my favorite, but they ruined the scaling of the upcoming figure.

These figuarts never get enough paint so thats not even a complaint anymore just the way they are lol. Look at great ape and porunga they just don't care about painting. You're lucky they even sculpt all the details they do.

I kind of disagree on your take on the tale. I like to be able to pose my action figures as much as possible. If I wanted a smoother but static look, I'd get a statue. All action figures are gonna have some segmented parts for articulation, that's just the nature of action figures
I'd be down for a regular Cooler, really... They clearly have most of a usable sculpt since they are making Metal Cooler. These Freeza figures have been failing to capture the faces properly. Something about the eyes or depth...
Second Form by far!! I love the look of his second form and tbh I like the flat colours on this figure for the purple looks waaay more screen accurate I'm so keen to get mine! Also they need to do the saiyan shoulders like his I've been saying that for so long! (like I've commented it on so many of these videos lol) they could easily have them recessed into the chest so there's no gap and allows for more range on the arms.

They already did a 2.0 a few years back.. Is what you mean a 3.0? Because 1.0 Freeza came out like 10 years ago.

yeah. they are different but not nearly as bad as it look son camera. in normal lighting, it's not super obvious unless youre looking for it.
