No, I'm not back in Malta all of a sudden. I decided to skip over some of my videos of Malta from when I was there a few weeks ago and am now going back and editing those videos. There will be a few more videos from Malta coming next, some more Greece videos and then I will be traveling to another country sometime soon. Hint: it won't be a Mediterranean island, but something completely different. UPDATE: When I mentioned that I'd just visited an old quarry at 12:17 in the video I wasn't referring to the modern one I showed, but another one. I made a separate video showing that quarry, which you can watch here: th-cam.com/video/AAhCvLdpA8k/w-d-xo.html

Gabriel , Just wondering if you saw sign of the British having a navy base there . When then Princess Elizabeth married Phillip , they were stationed in Malta . She lived a regular navy wife , shopping for groceries etc . She loved it there . Later she became Queen and couldn’t live a regular life.

I think the ruts are left from a method of quarrying that has been lost. The loose rocks for the walls you see are the results of this quarrying.

Hi Gabreil, these ancient cart ruts were done when the terrain was difference much more pliable stone wheels carved into the existing terrain more modern than the Megalithic temples of Malta. Those giant stones weigh tons. You must ask yourself what form of technology did these ancient civilizations have to move tons of weight thousands of years ago when today with modern equipment, it would be a challenge. There are many theories that they use sound waves but how exactly?

  • @dansouth2088

Just my opinion on the ruts. In Pompeii, those ruts were carved from the carts themselves. These ruts on Malta look like hand-hewn pathways for carts. In other words, man-made. I mean just look at the temples on the west coast of Malta. There are blocks of stone that are 40 tons that have been hewn and transported over the landscape and set into place. How did they do that 5500 years ago?? We think we are so advanced but the ancients were more amazing without our modern technology. PS - The archeological museum on the main street in Valletta is well worth the visit.
