Mate, when you are 60 years old you will look back and know you had a good life. It's all about the adventures and the stories, you will have plenty. Good to see, keep going...

Eh life doesn’t end at 60! 😂 😂 there are still adventures to be had beyond 60, I’m 61 this month and this year I aim to do a 100 mile section of the Cambrian way, the Skye trail and maybe the coast to coast, with the cape wrath trail next spring. If you have the desire to see new things it never leaves you. But I understand what you mean 👍

@stewart gregson haha... If I had written 90 yrs old someone would have still picked me up on it . I'm only a couple of years behind you and likewise I've no plan to slow down. 4 trips up Snowdon at the end of last year and off to Chamonix for Mont Blanc in May. Enjoy your travels my friend, sounds like you have some fun plans.

Hi Liam, I'm a Brit from the North of England who was so fortunate to move to Gozo/Malta almost 6 years ago. I was glued to this video for the entire time, as knew all the paths/roads you took. I'm so pleased that you had an enjoyable time over here. Like everyone of your subscribers, I look forward to each time you post a new adventure. Your content is always amazing, fresh, relevant, down to earth and your editing skills are really great. Keep up the fantastic work and enjoy each day. Peace ;-)

This is amazing. I was a 20 year old apprentice in the Royal Navy in 1962, serving at the Royal Naval Air Station at Halfar at the south west tip of Malta. We had two weeks “station leave”, meaning we were not able to return to UK. With a fellow apprentice, we were able to borrow camping gear and everything we needed from the Naval stores, and we did this same walk around Malta and Gozo, taking virtually the same route, finishing back at Halfar. The islands were much less developed then, and we camped on beaches in Gozo where there was not another person to be seen. Mellieha bay was a totally natural beach, nothing there. We were frequently offered food and drink by local people we met on our walk, and sometimes traded canned food from our supplies for fresh. One of the many happy memories of my time in Malta 60 years ago. At that time, much of Valletta was still not rebuilt after the war damage. I’m now 81 and planning a holiday in Malta this year.I know it won’t be the same, but I’m sure many of the sights will still be there. I have been back once in the 90’s so saw some of the changes.

Alan Whitfield amazing story. It so nice to hear stories how Malta used to be. I have been twice and liked it every time. It is so calm and peaceful although some places are overrun by tourists . It looks like Mexico in some places with all the Cactus that are there lol. We go to st Paul's bay. And saw some of the English forts there. They look like they were built yesterday. That how in good condition they are. Love the food in Malta. And in the three cities one of them we had a pizza. Wow. Never had pizza like it. Beautiful it was. Even the bottled water was like so fine n just tasted amazing we loved it. Love the people there

I'm local from the Maltese islands and discovered your vlog. That first island which you pinpointed, is Filfla. With a permit, one can visit. But mostly just staying on the boat. Filfla was used by the British military for target point training, and what you see is a miniature of what Filfla used to be before that in size. Malta's West is rugged as well, and I think you opted for country roads for a few paths.. also weird as it may sound..maybe it was your best bet to opt such roads instead, considering that the ones you avoided are mostly private land and would have also taken you longer to complete due to their steep slope. I did them however, and they are rugged with awesome cliff views. The geology of rocks, fossilized shells is typical all over here. So much to say due to our long history. I really enjoyed your approach, just raw and free backpacking! :)

Brought back some good memories. I lived in Malta for 7 years and my local walk was Dingli cliffs after work most evenings. The small island of the coast where you camped is called Filfla and was used for target practice by coastal defences during WW2. Its now a nature reserve and only authorised visitors allowed. It is reported as a breeding ground for great whites... For those wishing to do a similar walk, do it during the spring time as temperatures easily get up to 40C in July and August. ps There are NO snakes in Malta or Gozo.

I would highly recommend you get some sunscreen, brother. Too much sun is not good for your skin. Take care and all the best.

Malta always seems so bright cos the buildings are built with limestone which reflects the sun and makes it all look so bright . Valletta has this affect when u go there. I really like Valetta. It is a lovely city.

Great stuff Liam, always wanted to go to Malta, we had planned in 2019 for 2020 which got cancelled in the end. We plan to go again in the future, looks beautiful.

Good to see you backpacking outside of the UK now, I'm genuinely happy for ya.
I'll be backpacking in Thailand in 10 weeks. Can't wait 😁

I'll be visiting Gozo in a few months. I used to like staying on Malta but it's a lot more built up now compared to when I started going in the early 1980s. I stayed in Xaghra last time close to the Ggantija Temples you visited. This time I'm staying in Nadur. I've walked a lot of the island but return to a comfy Airbnb each night 😁
