I'm thrilled to have discovered your channel, and I've been enjoying watching your videos. I'm even thinking about getting an LDRC MX5 myself because your content is just that fun!
Glad I bought the rx7! I will have to do this mod as well. I have the dasmikro gyro and have it dialed in perfectly, the car just wants to spin way too easily when scrubbing speed. I think having more steering angle will help prevent this!
Great video's for these basic mods! I just bought the 1899 (Nissan Skyline) and it drove terrible!. In the end it all came down to suspension with too much friction resulting in irregular surface contact of the wheels. I do wonder what material your tires are made of. I see a mold parting line in the middle of the tire and it looks like rubber. I have the hard plastic tires and could use slightly more grip on my slippery floor. There seem to be different tire compounds for these cars and different diameters but I have not been able to figure out which will fit and where to buy. Only a short video on youtube mentioning some of the types.
@@APEXRCGARAGEthat would be awesome! I think there's lots of drivers of these cars that don't even know there are different tire compounds, let alone which tire fits on which car. I hope you can find some time to share your knowledge about the wheels/tires.
When I went to Ali express they only had the 86, so I brought that one. But it’s still should be good, I would have liked the Mazda more though. I love your videos
@APEXRCGARAGE hells yeah. I posyed my video of the 80° angle kit today and mannn. Its on a whole new level. Might take it out to seven tails circuit here soon!
Hello, thanks for the video! Do you have any suggestion on alignment setup/upgrade how to prevent rx7 from spinning around on slow tight turns? Still figuring that out. The setup is stock rx7 with dasmikro gyro. Thank you!
Hmm not sure what that could be. Maybe double check that your wheels aren’t hitting anything when they are turned. It could stop the wheel and spin you out. Other than that just practice throttle control, takes some time to get the hang of it.
My rx7 has an issue where the servo has too much throw to the left(which turns the wheels right) so once the wheels are at full lock to the right it then keeps pulling the control arm and knuckle inward towards the frame and binds it up and just pushed the front end instead of turning.
Mine was locking up on the fenders. Check yours. I actually had to cut mine in half due to both limiting angle and locking up wheels as a result. Don't remove the fenders altogether bc the front part holds up the popup headlights.
Heyyy great video, btw i just want to ask, I really love your video, so i have list down my option between ldrc rx7 or wltoys k969.. I really confused which one is better for beginner like me to start an rc drift car and which of these two product better interm of upgradable and drifting,
Can’t go wrong with either. Just depends on your preference. The LDRC is rwd so it drives much different and looks more like real drifting. The k969 is awd so it’s probably a little easier to bash around.
Idk man, nice work but I’d just buy a RMX-M RTR tbh. Way better performance and still relatively small (& more expensive obviously so that’s the only “downside”).
Yeah the 1/10 cars feel a lot better. The mini rc’s are twitchy and don’t have the same weight shift as a 1/10. These are good for when you only have a small space to drift
I'll never understand why RC drifters care so much about the scale appearance of their cars but then completely cheese the drifting itself with non-scale steering angle, lack of tire grip, and gyros. You're cheating yourself.
Ok, I'll give it a try... RC RWD drifting isn't possible without gyro and big steering angle. Thats because of the small wheelbase. A human beeing isn't fast enough to prevent the little cars for spinning out. The experience on RWD drifting is great. It feels and looks very real. An onroad GT car looks much less realistic by the way! ;) An 1:8 MT not either if he's jumping 10m high... And do not beleave it's easy to drift well although You're using a gyro. You need lots of skill and training. Last but not least: The cars don't break, becUse of the slow speed. Gentleman style 🎉

did u do the mod yet, i have the rx7 as well and im looking to increase the steering angle. Is it just as simple as cutting the stopper off

They have the Rx-7, AE86 and NSX available on ali. ✌️😁
They are all the same. Ae86 just has a thinner body.
Will you be posting your hub extensions? Ive been trying to get people to make this for me for like a month and a half lmao
I'll be posting soon! the file needed to be cleaned up

Remove the wheel liners front the inside of the body, the wheels hit them when turning. It’s one screw on the inside of the body. Should fix things 👌🏻
Just to be sure, I don’t really need the 80° steering rack upgrade for the Rx7? :)
You dont need it, but it may be easier than DIY'ing more angle
hello, can you write what size the ball tips of this model
How can I lower it with out cutting or anything just want lower height

I will upload to thingiverse when I get some free time!

how about to nsx? can i remove the stopper and keep the stock suspension?
NSX content coming soon!

Wait, on the RX7 what did you do to get more angle? Just cut the stops on the knuckles?
Yeah pretty much. Watch my video “LDRC Budget Drift RC! - Onisiki Gyro Test”. It shows what I did for the steering angle on the rx7
Do u sell a ready made kit like this with all these mods?
No I don't, maybe in the future I could do something like that
Or you could just increase the camber of your suspension I've also tried this with my ldrc drift car
