Problem with DC comics is they are too reliant on crisis events to sell books. But hey they gave Darkseid a huge power boost by making him a member of a lantern Corp.

the problem with the lanterns is that they’re just falling into the same trope as the infinity gauntlet with everyone eventually getting their hands on it. most comics fall into the same tropes and don’t really come up with semi original concepts the more popular thy are

Leave it to DC to reset the reset that reset it's last reset because "starting over" is apparently the only way they know how to drum up interest in their comics. And it works because every time they do another Crisis, by the end, I can't wait for them to reverse what they just did. Here's looking at you Doomsday Clock.

The darkness isn't evil, it's absence of anything. Essentially, it gives anything the power to create anything.
Im glad they are going more in depth with The Great Darkness and eventually the presence. They haven’t been mentioned in so long and now they are back to remind everyone there place in the Entire DC Universe Landscape. Nothing is above them besides the over monitor being the concept that forever binds them all together. This also allows for more story telling and be able to truly balance out the power scaling.
Omniverse Level: Great Darkness, Presence, Lucifer, Michael.
Multiversal Level: The Empty Hand, Darkseid (Not there yet, but can be), The Hands. Dr Manhattan. Superboy-Prime, Batman Who Laughs.
Theory is that there will be a omniversal crisis that will allow crossovers from the actual marvel and image comics (spawn). It was already hinted in doomsday clock that marvel and dc will cross over so it is very possible.
Most of them have Multiversal feats.

And since death knights metal already did a dark multiverse they cut it out because it would be too confusing to have a dark multiverse and an anti-multiverse alongside the main multiverse. Neat.

I think that is literally the case. The omniverse will collapse and cause the secret wars, which will cause the omniverse wall to collapse and allow for Marvel and DC to cross over.

I dont see how people are taking it like the other crisis didnt happen when this is only happening because of the others.
DC comics has a habit of creating stories filled with crisis events that serve no purpose to future main DC stories and retcons upon retcons.
For example DC rebirth was suppose to correct certain stories events from the New 52 and then Doomsday clock was another back to basics followed by Dark Knights Death Metal was to remember every crisis event. And now we have this dark crisis event and odds arw they will retcon the DC Universe all over again.
Could it be that DC is trying to follow the DCEU with a complete start over, and this time for a good reason, instead of another crisis event.
@@jbeastjj7936 I want to believe that I really do but knowing DC's track record I don't feel like that's going to be their excuse for this. The reason for this if you read the future state comics. That was supposed to be their way of introducing the new generation of Heroes to replace the original heroes, but future state didn't meet up to their expectations so that's why we're getting this whole dark crisis on infinite Earth event.
However even with this all being said and done the odds are of them continuing where they left off from this is very low.
So it's basically the depletion of black ink cartridges

Mate respectively Lucifer absolutely fits the bill of being the great darkness according to most recent canon. Which brought up the idea of it all with issues 10 and 11 in which dan Watters confirmed he was supposed to be. But that aside there was plenty of evidence throughout that storyline and whither or not it's changed in the future is entirely up to future writers they could change it without question. Lucifer and. Geb are both referenced to as Satan, they even went on to say geb was Satan with unironically standing next to a mural of Michael piercing Lucifer with a spear which according to Watters run happened. Both are more than just there names when we are first introduced to geb we learned he isn't just called Satan turns out some believed him to be Cthulhu and other various dark entities. Well turns out Lucifer isn't just Lucifer either the dude has over 1000 origin Storys and is known as 1000 different beings such as the shadow on the wall of the cave. Both are responsible for all the bad things that happen, thanks for JLI we now know geb is responsible for every crisis that happened out there but it turns out he isn't the only one who makes bad things happen. The morningstar tired of everyone blaming him for all the wrong turns out the devil is as bad as all of that Lucifer is a key part to creation he is the literal darkness the very concept of bad whither he likes it or not which he doesn't. Which the presences as a defined entity relies upon actually it was discribed this to in the og geb story. And like geb turns out Lucifer in a sense came before as well if you can recall his conversation with raguel Lucifer explicitly states perhaps that's why he made me the way I am he needed shadow to define his light also within that same conversation we learn existence is only possible through a mix of light and darkness just like what was stated in JLI and like geb who was called the darkness that comes for the end of everything Lucifer him was discribed as the great beast of judgement that comes to end of everything. Not to mention who in all of creation do these two have the biggest hatred towards? God or the presence this two are literally locked in an eternal conflict with the presence. To say the similarities and such is in my opinion silly now if course I've not the chance to read all of dark crisis so perhaps things were changed but going off of the most current Lucifer run he most definitely is supposed to be.
Watters statement is non canon since Great Darkness is the oldest being currently.

And I think he certainly did that. Also you might have missed this other point not only does the presence relie on Lucifers existence to be a defined entity Lucifer implies he came first in a sense he needed the shadow to define his light aka the dark came first. Also if you didn't know this they're other Storys in which the presence created both light and dark while I don't believe it's been confirmed in dark crisis it's more than like geb is apart of the presence. And was made for a similar perpuse lucifer was like I said he literally fits the bill.

The Great Darkness existed before The Overvoid and Presence as also confirmed by Joshua Williamson. Upside Down Man ( avatar of Great Darkness ) was above GEB as confirmed by James Tynion. You are trying to hype the old canon by saying Presence > GD but the truth is Great Darkness is an endless void which came before anything and everything and that includes Presence , Overvoid and Source as well

Yes I'm well aware of n52 and his loss which doesn't say much to the sandman Lucifer. As A it's wonky timeline wise, secondly there's no context which makes it utterly useless and thirdly it's likely not to be the same guy anyway per destiny's and Izzy words as Lucifer is an important being creation trys to fill the void and as seen in blacks run they're other Lucifers floating around all supposed to be the same dude but aren't. Yes usdm was said to be above geb but got retconned. Again Lucifer was confirmed to exist before the presence as well Lucifer himself implied it and later on the angels confirmed it the presence needed the concept of black to reflect his light to begin with otherwise he doesn't exist as a defined entity. The presence has been connected to the void numerous times in DC. Swamp thing, spectre, whatever story synnar was, etc. I don't need to make up anything it's called read the story it's all there.

What if instead of directly battling a villain, their heroics come by way of some convoluted sci-fi disaster flick?
Like…. The sun just starts to screw up due to some MCU related antics and they have to go correct it, or a giant meteor is heading towards earth so they need to stop that.
Something like that to where it’s more about using their resources and powers more so than punching someone.

I am currently loving this story. Though in my opinion, I would say that the power levels in this crisis are a little wack. I think they could downscale it from switching the great darkness with the empty hand. (just so it doesnt go overboard with the scaling of power)

The empty hand almost sounds like an evil version DC version of the Living Tribunal, at least power wise. And if that's the case, then anyone above street level should be able to beat him...cause that's how Marvel treats the LT.
The Empty Hand is more like DC's version of the Chaos King or the Black Winter from Marvel. While the Great Darkness is DC's version of Marvel's Oblivion. That's how I see it. Or it could be that the Great Darkness is just DC's version of the One Below All.

Oh, Perpetua again. No? I couldn’t tell the difference. Both have made Darkseid their jobber. Both are esoteric concepts given…unimpressive physical forms.
Until a new "mega event spectacular cross over of the century"... in a few months.
I hope that they end up making a new injustice sequel comic and game. If they included dr. Manhattan and one of the story lines let’s superman take his full power, that would just be insane. They’d have to even the playing field somehow. Like superman uses the new powers to bestow powers on new injustice league members and the insurgents have to develop tech to steal the powers and put them in weapons that let them stand a chance. That or they ally with gods or Lucifer to get power that way.
Kind of sounds like the other Injustice story but with Dr. Manhattan chuckled in 😂
Here's my opinion I think the Multiverse in DC is much like a farmer's crops. DC universe resets itself much like a farmer. They initially grows the plants they get to a stage in which they have to be Harvest this is when the DC crisis happens and after that it resets back to zero. Every Multiverse must be eaten by the great Darkness during a crisis in order to start the balance over again.

This would be more interesting to me if they villains actually win and they kept that as a status quo for a few years. That's one of the fews ways I won't view this as another crisis event that we'll move on from few weeks later

My problem with dc is they keep basically having the same story over and over again and every new group of comics have to make u a newer more powerful villain it annoying

Hard to say Darkest Knight was probably on the level of The Hands that serve the Source or Dr.Manhattan who could create and destroy multiverses yes but if Empty Hand has never really shown much of what he can do but if he really is the right hand of Great Darkness who is equal to Presence he should be on the level of archangel like Lucifer/Michael. If not he should at lest be on the level of The Hands.

1. I just don't want the pre-1985-Crisis version of DC comics to return. It was hokey and lame beyond belief, so good riddance. On a sidenote: Does either Marvel or DC do, ya know, actual super hero stories anymore, or is it a never-ending procession of "Big Huge Universe/Multiverse Crisis Oblivion Crisis Events"? IOWs, bringing back the Pre-Crisis DC Universe might be more sensationalism because they've run out of ideas for "regular" super hero stories. 2. Ok so going back to at least the early 80's we've all seen many well-known posters full of dozens and hundreds of characters of either Marvel or DC comics. I would love it if they made a definitive cosmic hierarchy of either Marvel or DC of all - and I mean ALL - of these ludicrous space gods and their roles in the Universe/Multiverse/Omniverse/Etc.
