Here's my opinion I think the Multiverse in DC is much like a farmer's crops. DC universe resets itself much like a farmer. They initially grows the plants they get to a stage in which they have to be Harvest this is when the DC crisis happens and after that it resets back to zero. Every Multiverse must be eaten by the great Darkness during a crisis in order to start the balance over again.
I am currently loving this story. Though in my opinion, I would say that the power levels in this crisis are a little wack. I think they could downscale it from switching the great darkness with the empty hand. (just so it doesnt go overboard with the scaling of power)
The empty hand almost sounds like an evil version DC version of the Living Tribunal, at least power wise. And if that's the case, then anyone above street level should be able to beat him...cause that's how Marvel treats the LT.
The Empty Hand is more like DC's version of the Chaos King or the Black Winter from Marvel. While the Great Darkness is DC's version of Marvel's Oblivion. That's how I see it. Or it could be that the Great Darkness is just DC's version of the One Below All.

I hope that they end up making a new injustice sequel comic and game. If they included dr. Manhattan and one of the story lines let’s superman take his full power, that would just be insane. They’d have to even the playing field somehow. Like superman uses the new powers to bestow powers on new injustice league members and the insurgents have to develop tech to steal the powers and put them in weapons that let them stand a chance. That or they ally with gods or Lucifer to get power that way.
Im glad they are going more in depth with The Great Darkness and eventually the presence. They haven’t been mentioned in so long and now they are back to remind everyone there place in the Entire DC Universe Landscape. Nothing is above them besides the over monitor being the concept that forever binds them all together. This also allows for more story telling and be able to truly balance out the power scaling. Omniverse Level: Great Darkness, Presence, Lucifer, Michael. Multiversal Level: The Empty Hand, Darkseid (Not there yet, but can be), The Hands. Dr Manhattan. Superboy-Prime, Batman Who Laughs. Theory is that there will be a omniversal crisis that will allow crossovers from the actual marvel and image comics (spawn). It was already hinted in doomsday clock that marvel and dc will cross over so it is very possible.
There's always a "most powerful" cosmic character for every crappy event DC does, who is made irrelevant by the next event with an even more powerful character. It's so old by now lol
This would be more interesting to me if they villains actually win and they kept that as a status quo for a few years. That's one of the fews ways I won't view this as another crisis event that we'll move on from few weeks later

So, I had the great fortune recently to have JUST finished Alan Moore's Swamp Thing run where this guy shows up basically right in the middle of Crisis on Infinite Earths thanks to weird cultists wanting to use the instability of every universe merging into one to conquer the afterlife and turn it into... well it's Alan Moore so basically into every fascist's dream. Constantine shows up and puts together all the afterlife attuned wizards and magicians and whatnot, and also Swamp Thing since he can commune between the two. The Specter is contact and he says "Oh yea, that crow those cultists sent to wake up the ultimate evil? I let it pass" Why'd the Specter do that? Apparently he wanted something that could actually challenge his power, because apparently the Specter temporarily was inhabiting the body of an anime protagonist. Yes, he gets beaten rather quickly. The shadow ultimately reconsiders the nature of good and evil thanks to the Swamp Thing and gives the Presence's hand a big ol' hand shake. That event was intended to describe how good and evil were going to become more nuanced post-Crisis and not so absolute. So, I guess in this Frontier thing, that's off and the Great Darkness is going full-on mustache twirling evil now.

Dark Knights Metal and Death Metal are being ignored because Scott Snyder was actively undermining everything Geoff Johns had written. This story is undoing the undoing and putting everything right back to tell the story that follows Infinite Crisis.
I mean Empty Hand literally is a multiverse buster who can destroy multiverses with ease, take this with a grain of salt since it’s words from a bad guy but he states that their multiverse only exists because he hasn’t decided to make a move yet, this is stated in Multiversity last few issues btw
Hard to say Darkest Knight was probably on the level of The Hands that serve the Source or Dr.Manhattan who could create and destroy multiverses yes but if Empty Hand has never really shown much of what he can do but if he really is the right hand of Great Darkness who is equal to Presence he should be on the level of archangel like Lucifer/Michael. If not he should at lest be on the level of The Hands.
I see they've gone back to their original naming conventions. The original Multiverse becomes Multiverse 2 while the new Multiverse from prices on infinite Earths became Multiverse one. Who knows maybe the Dark Nights death metal Multiverse became new Multiverse or what have you

Does anyone else feel like this is the DC black winter hinted about? Cause I haven't forgotten about the cross over that was teased. And with this being the closest to true Darkseid we have witnessed in comics. And the hulk traveling through the bleed in marvel. I could be dreaming but...it's just the set up if fat too close to what was teased for this to be anything else. Could that DC/Marvel cross over come some time after this event??? With Zaslav in charge of DC, it's entirely possible that he'll wind down their comic book division. If there's a Marvel/DC crossover, it'll be because DC comics licensed their characters to Disney.

I mean Empty Hand literally is a multiverse buster who can destroy multiverses with ease, take this with a grain of salt since it’s words from a bad guy but he states that their multiverse only exists because he hasn’t decided to make a move yet, this is stated in Multiversity last few issues btw
Hard to say Darkest Knight was probably on the level of The Hands that serve the Source or Dr.Manhattan who could create and destroy multiverses yes but if Empty Hand has never really shown much of what he can do but if he really is the right hand of Great Darkness who is equal to Presence he should be on the level of archangel like Lucifer/Michael. If not he should at lest be on the level of The Hands.

I see they've gone back to their original naming conventions. The original Multiverse becomes Multiverse 2 while the new Multiverse from prices on infinite Earths became Multiverse one. Who knows maybe the Dark Nights death metal Multiverse became new Multiverse or what have you

Does anyone else feel like this is the DC black winter hinted about? Cause I haven't forgotten about the cross over that was teased. And with this being the closest to true Darkseid we have witnessed in comics. And the hulk traveling through the bleed in marvel. I could be dreaming but...it's just the set up if fat too close to what was teased for this to be anything else.
Could that DC/Marvel cross over come some time after this event??? If it's real of course.
With Zaslav in charge of DC, it's entirely possible that he'll wind down their comic book division. If there's a Marvel/DC crossover, it'll be because DC comics licensed their characters to Disney.

I was a big fan of the first few Crisis-type events, but I have become fatigued.
I mostly read Marvel and occasionally read DC...well just Batman. I wanted to check out dark knights metal...but I guess now I don't have a reason.
