I was trying to upgrade my RAM to 32GB, but I couldn't figure out how to get to the RAM underneath the keyboard. You made it real easy. Thank you for this tear down video.

Glad you included the last 1 minute - my biggest pain with laptops over the years is failure of the power connector. Glad to see it is modular on the G75.

Thanks for this video. I've already torn into my G75VX to troubleshoot/clean a noisy fan and considered making a video of my own to help others out. Since you've already beat me to it I'll refrain from making another video.
In general though the video van, or VGA fan as the aftermarket vendors call it, was unable to be cleaned/oiled enough to make a difference so I had to order the parts from overseas which just arrived today. These fans aren't cheap so taking care of cleaning em up folks or you'll end up doing like us and tearing apart your machine!!

I'm getting one of these tomorrow and plan to upgrade the ram in the 2 internal slots. I've taken many laptops apart but after watching this video, this thing scares the hell out of me lol. Good job making this great video. That was a hell of a lot of screw's and cables to keep track of. Wish me luck lol.

very helpful video, but a bit quiet. I'd bump the volume up a bit. You know what you are talking about and it is good to actually hear what you are saying. :-)

Nice video that was THE most detailed video on the G75 I have seen! Ive been wanting to put in 32gb of ram and possibly just maybe replacing my gtx660m with the 670 or if it is possible a 680m and also Ive thought about putting in a better cpu than my 3630m. What kind of graphics card and cpu upgrades are possible with the G75VW? Please let me know. Thanks!

Hi...very nice video. Actually this video kinda made my life a bit sweeter. I just bought a G75VX-T4066H. I am a bit confused about the RAM upgrade for this one. I know it can have up to 32 GbRAM but the available slots are only two and already has a 8GBRAM DIMM underneath the motherboard. As i saw inn your video there are two more hidden, on the other side of the motherboard (underneath the keyboard). My question is: Do you know if this goes also for my model? Thanks in advance for you answer.

This is an awesome video. Thank you for the work you have put into it. I have a question, though. I need to check my keyboard LED ribbon cable. I sent the laptop in for repair, and they replaced the mobo. Afterwards, the keyboard LED's didn't work. Didn't bother with it, at the time, as I didn't want to send it back out for another month. But, now, I'm looking at checking it (already trouble shooted BIOS version, drivers, been through OS-reinstall for other reasons, etc.... narrowed it down to hardware and figure they just didn't connect it or didn't connect it well). Do I really have to go that far, removing the screen, to remove the keyboard? I'd prefer to mess with as little as possible. When I replaced my wife's keyboard, in her Toshiba, it was three screws, connect and done. LOL. Please advise if there's a shortcut, only for the keyboard. Thanks.

    Thanks for the help :)
And incredibly enough, this wasn't half as bad to disassemble as my moms Acer machine.. That was, ah - I think I counted about 50 screws.. or I stopped counting there. I've had to bake the motherboard of that laptop in the oven twice now, takes a bloody war to pull it apart ^^
The ASUS here was almost a pleasure working with, least when it comes to laptops :D

Very good video, I was trying to disassemble it today and I got scared when I took off the display and wanted to take off the keyboard, but it got stuck. Now I see why. I didn't want to risk it and found this video, it's clearly now that I should've been screwed off three bolts there near blu-ray drive.

Hi, this video is fantastic and I thank you very much. My question is: do I really need to remove all the parts like you show in the video if I should put thermal paste on Gpu? I guess the girl says so in the end of the clip but I'm not sure I got it well.

I was hoping to see the location of the CMOS battery. I lost the ability to boot (it's a long story!) but I am quite sure that resetting the BIOS will get me back to the previous impasse instead of the current one. Do you know where that battery is (or jumper or other way to reset the BIOS)? Thanks

Hi, great video. I wanted to ask you, is there a way, this will void your warranty? I dont want to dissasemble whole notebook, but just want to insert a ram into free slot under the keyboard, but there arent really any warranty stickers or anything, so I wanted to know if opening G75 just so I can inserrt a ram is traceable for warranty reasons?
    Thanks

I do have a question! My right fan drives me nuts! It got this weird noise coming from it when it goes faster. It wasn't like this before. How can I make the noise disappear? It seems that there is dust there, but I'm not sure. I can make video for you, so you could see it first before answering. Will you please take a look at it ?

I want to know if it is possible to separate the keyboard from the palm rest and the panel above the keyboard. Since I want to replace my keyboard on a g75 and I believe asus estore only sells the replacement keyboard alone without the palm rest and the power button panel.

Hej! I was looking around and could not find any info i need about the screen. Not even on their webbside.. I wonder if this laptop is capable of 120hz refresh rate on screen? you can easly find it out by going to screen resolution--->advance settings--->monitor--->Screen refresh rate. Make sure that box "hide modes that this monitor cannot display" is checked. thanks in advance!

Does th the motherboard have to be removed in order to get to the gpu heat sink? My laptop is hitting low 80 degree Celsius when gaming and when I opened the laptop I was surprised at how hot the card was and how cool the copper heat pipes were.. This tells me I must be getting poor conduction from the gpu to the heatsink?

  •  9 ปีที่แล้ว

hidevolution i hope you still see comments on this video lol
for what is that connector just bellow the wifi ? (the one bigger and with MB on it?)
also, my screen is with an issue, it sometimes display blue colors where it shouldnt , sometimes is red or purple, with a stripe on the left
if i make a pressure on the right side of the touchpad the problem go away...but it back on after a time or when i travel with it on a bag ...what can it be?

I did this teardown because I was running extreemly hot and I foun a bunch of lint clogging the heat sink vents. When I put it back together every thing worked except I am getting an I/O error initializing Drive 1 Drive 0 is fine. I have checked and remounted the hard drive ribbon several times the bus is dead even when I reverse the drives. Any help on this issue. PS I have a screws left over could I have put a wrong screw in some where or left on out that is need for a ground on this bus?
