    I don't know if I could stay at one of those places for longer than 1 day. I'd rather stay at a cheap hotel.

      I have also always had trouble sleeping with other people making noise so this would be a challenge for me M D.

    Well, it is unique... Appears to be nice, and clean... Coffee shop below... You know me, and you, coffee is a must... 500php per night... I would only have a problem with the CR.. I have to do #1 a couple of times per night, and I think I would be awake again after a walk down stairs... Thanks again for the video, Rod...

      Thanks Bruce. I have never stayed in a hostel but my experience with sleeping several to a room is that someone will be snoring and keeping me awake all night.

      @@AmazingPhilippines1 I know how you are with the noise... They would have to watch out for me!!! Hehehe... I sleep right through the snoring...

    Obviously for a much younger crowd than I’m used to anymore. Probably would have loved it when I was twenty.

    • @AmazingPhilippines1
      @AmazingPhilippines1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Noise has always bothered me when trying to sleep so it probably wouldn't work for me but it is a cheaper option Anthony.

    Personally I would never stay at a Hostel but I know it’s something that many young travelers on a budget enjoy. What I really like about this Hostel is that it’s made from shipping containers. I’d love to build a house with containers, they are definitely stronger than most buildings.

    Two things: 1) skulls on wall with bench seating?! You can sit but do not lean back as the skulls will bite your back.
    2) $10/night.... $300/month?!
    I believe you can get a single hotel room at a monthly rate comparable to that pricing. And nightly I suspect got for not much more; So why share with up to eleven other strangers?

    A very economical option for the younger crowd. Being brand new, it's of course clean and I was impressed with the hardwood floors. I liked your comment, "the CR includes toilet paper".

    HQ Hostel 8-12 mixed bed dorm with common bathroom is $10 per bed. over the street is the San Jose Pension house Which had air condition double rooms with cable TV own bathroom free wifi for $12. There are so many new hostels in cebu. With dorms. prices from $5 per bed. Rod can you please do a video on reddoorz Zapatera. Not far from Queensland. They have air condition double rooms from $8. Queensland manor is also now on airb&b for 800 a night.

    It’s for Backpackers and not us expats that’s for sure. Even though it’s new and clean I’d never be able to fall asleep with strangers in my room snoring or etc.
    Also many backpackers are smelly from my experience LOL

    I saw the rooms on AirBnb and they wanted like a little over 1K per person or room of 8 for almost 7K. But i think the price for 1 person is too much,.,. could have gotten a studio room for that price else where.

    • @AmazingPhilippines1
      @AmazingPhilippines1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting. Thanks Jon. Airbnb tends to be higher with their fees but that is too high for a bed in a shared room.

    Nice , clean colorful and stylish place. Not so good for me with the bathrooms downstairs, but that's hostel living I guess.:) You missed going over the most important house rule at the front desk Rod--"No lascivious behavior will be tolerated and will be punishable by law." Some backpackers might make it hard for conscientious group travelers and other backpackers, by being slobs and bringing the new place down, but I hope not. I once saw a female backpacker washing her dirty feet in the ladies comfort room sink while in transit at the old Mactan airport. Rod--I recently read in Sunstar about a new "pod" hotel opening in Cebu, like those immaculate looking ones often found in Tokyo. I pondered the overall hygiene of pods used by some backpackers here in the tropics. You might want to find about more about it.

    • @AmazingPhilippines1
      @AmazingPhilippines1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Regina. I have never stayed in a hostel and I think the noise and snoring would bother me. I did read about the pod hotel also and will try to get by there one day. Group stay with strangers could be interesting or a nightmare.
