it wasn't very good in horizons 1, 2 and 3 that you had to dodge out of the way of driver tars and traffic cars while doing the speed and drift zones, but I hope that horizon 5 have driver tars and traffic cars will be ghosted in speed and drift zones
I will be honest here. For me, it's a bit sad that this is the end of forza horizon 4 ( sure, the game hasn't reached the end of life) . The game was incredible and had major flaws, but I still had a lot of fun playing the game, especially with friends and I hope that other fh4 players made some memorable moments with their friends too. I hope you guys have great future days, and see you on the mexican streets.
I bought fh4 in this summer sale as the ultimate edition was on heavy discount (about $16). I have played the hell out of it in these past 4 months. About 151 hours. I had a ton of fun in this game. I also liked the winter.
The seasons were made even worse by the fact that despite having a season, you would still be going for summer races. So despite season being 'a big thing', you just bypass it even if you dont want to.
Winter was my favorite season. There could be an argument for "getting good". But my argument is that shit was beautiful to drive around in. Either way more dynamic weather is a good thing.
Honestly as the fist game I bought with my own money, horizon 1, may not be the best of the Forza games, it still remains my favourite. My second being 4, third being 3 and my least favourite being 2. I have played 5 but not finished so I’m not going to put it here. I say 2 is my least favourite by tbh, I loved every single bit of that game. So in reality this could easily be changed. Lol

One thing I’d love to see is the ability to hit 300 in a Bugatti Chiron. It’s pretty disappointing imo that the first car to hit 300 irl can barely hit 250 in the game. Probably won’t be useful but it would be really cool

It’s not hard. Most people will agree. It was just an inconvenience because the other 3 weeks had you set in a certain distance. Then for 1, SINGLE week, it changed because of some snow. Honestly, I disliked the season for that single reason. Threw off the gameplay
I feel they got the seasons pretty spot on for here in the UK, Spring and Autumn are similar but visually different, Summer feels about right (a bit dry to be honest) and Winter is more cold (some of the challenges were frustrating in Winter though) and snow is pretty uncommon where I am (South Yorkshire) but there are areas that are covered quite a lot of the time but they are more northerly (north of the border (Scotland) generally gets much more snow than we get here).
Horizon 4 felt awesome in the very beginning but not too long after everything just felt stale because of the lack of a story, something to work towards. The only thing I really like about FH4 are the driving physics…
I know almost everyone hated snow. But kinda bummed that only like 1-2 tracks in FH5 are gonna be snowy. Just by the mountain top. Kinda odd that they still have snow tires in the game.
I loved the winter season, was my favorite. I love snowy landscapes IRL and made it fun to do my weekly challenges, didn't care much at all for summer, no leaves or flowers or snoaw.
I for one thought the seasons were actually a really cool addition and I enjoyed having new looks to the game every week, I think winter could’ve been a bit shorter or have been more than just snow everywhere, woulda been cool to see actual changes in how quickly your tires heat up and woulda been cool to see snowstorms like in blizzard mountain
Yeah. One thing I hope for future forza games is that cars are limited. For eg, there could be only 35 limited mercedes clk gtrs like irl, to make the game more realistic
I think that a cool new feature with Fh5 is that you can actually gift cars to new players or a player of your choice. So now you can technically “trade” cars with other players as well as race for “pink slips”. It’s just a nice feature to have for plenty of reasons.
I only played horizon 1 and 4 I liked the story more in 1 you had a goal and you wanted to complete those with four i didn’t get that urge to do the stories in fh4
Yep, still to this day for me. Horizon 1 was the only game in the series that actually had me wanting to and enjoying playing through the story. There's no sense of progression. Already have like every car in FH5 and it's just like, alright now what. The races give you no sense of progression so why bother.
Personally as someone who lives in the UK, I often found horizon 4 less enjoyable to drive around in as many of the places in game I knew in real life which made the feeling of exploring less exciting than in games like horizon 3 which were set in places I'd never been to.
Yeah I refrained from using worst this time because I know for many players Horizon 4 was their first title and to be fair in the grand scheme of Open World Racers it's still the King of the Pack right now.
That last point on the wheel makes me so happy! I bought a wheel a few months back and when I finally got to use it on FH4 I literally hated the feel and couldn't find any realistic settings so I gave up and haven't used it once since the day I got it. Only reason I kept it all this time was in hopes that FH5 would get it right and hearing that they did made it worth it to keep the wheel so I'm beyond happy.
I'm not a fan of the crew 2 cat handling but try the wheel, cruising actually feels better on the wheel than it does in fh4, only reason I kept my wheel too bro.
I actually really liked the physics. I also liked the way my cars felt with them. Maybe it's just me but Horizon 3 didn't feel quite as realistic (I run hardest difficulty, no assists.)
For an open-world title, the physics are pretty good. Only problem with FH4 was the force feedback with the wheel. But I could still enjoy it with my G923.
@@MDCYF that’s, not only a problem with the steam but also with the Microsoft store version. Don’t even know why this should make a difference. But in all honesty the physics where absolutely terrible with a steering wheel. On the other hand with a controller it was just perfect. Not too realistic and not too Arcady.
For me with the g920 on fh4 is that you can't really 'feel' the car stepping out when drifting or sliding into a corner until its too late, and the force feedback was a bit naf aswell
Winter was by far the best season for me. I love driving around in the snow and messing around in the icy conditions. The seasons gave it so much more life. FH3 was very bland I though, fun to play but bland. That’s why I loved blizzard mountain. Really hoping FH5 has the same feel with the storms etc. Already pre ordered the premium version and can’t wait
I'm more in line with you, not other commenters here. I can't say winter was the best for me but I did really enjoy it. Partly because it was such a change from the others. Overall, I also prefer FH4 to FH3 and not just because it's my home country. For me, the map of FH3 was the big letdown. Not because of it's diverse biomes but because of the layout. All the interesting areas where at the edges of the map and you had to deliberately go out of your way to drive through them. The lighthouse, the canyon, the pink lakes and the pool in the jungle. I also never felt any desire to drive through the middle of the map when going north/south, it always seem to lead me along the far left or right roads. I also found the not-a-city a bit bland. FH4 certainly had it's issues and FH3 was still excellent, I just felt a bigger desire to play FH4 more. :-)
I have a question, so at 2:57 if you pause there you can see press R thumbstick for detailed view, does that do the old fh4 view for the cars? I will miss the old view of cars
No unfortunately it doesn't, from memory I believe the detailed stats also shows the cars drivetrain, P.!, it doesn't change the view of the car sadly.
Couldn't agree more on every point, FH4 was still an enjoyable game, but FH3 with its expansion has left me much much more memories of good times than FH4
I play fh3 and 4 on wheel and I find drifting and just driving in general in fh3 is way easier and more gratifying than that in fh4. Having driven a car irl although not at speed I find fh4 to be very buggy on wheel such as the force feedback jerking violently to one side for no reason. I didnt get this with fh3. I hope fh5s ffb wheel gameplay is much like that of fh3 where it just felt more satisfying to use.
OH MY GOD THANK YOU FOR MENTIONING THE G920!!! I thought it was only me! I bought mine back in 2018 and thought mine was faulty too until I went to Dirt and realized how amazing the wheel is. FH4 with the g920 was absolutey unplayable. I had friends come over and try their hardest to even stay on the road. A terrible disappointment. I haven't had the chance to play FH5 with the wheel yet but I hope it will be better.

I know Im gonna anger some people but I kinda liked winter ... sure puting the right tires on a car JUST FOR A FEW DAYS was tedious and tiering ... but idk maybe it is that I just like the whole atmosphere of winter and driving through snow, watching how my car gets dirty of snow is satisfying
I think the reason for the short highway is that it isn't diagonal, its straight up and down and doesn't even stretch all the way to the bottom nor does it bend around the corner of the map for some extra length
I might be the only one but I actually really like playing in winter, every time winter hits I just like to cruise relax and pull up mad slides in a RWD car (I don't play that often bcs of my time schedule ) Yea, I agree with you on the default settings of wheels, but with some fine adjustments it's actually pretty good, and the physics are better then fh3 where they seemed like an arcade game.
Horizon 4 was my first horizon game and was actually the reason i have an Xbox. My Dad (Who before was a playstation fan over xbox) saw trailers for horizon 4 and thought it looked so good that he got me an xbox for christmas. I’m also from the UK so it’s cool to see how perfect they did the UK imo.
tbh, i will miss the winter so much, i really loved (love) to play when winter season cames . Especially, i love doing some night rally at winter, its so cool :D
I loved winter for its beauty. In my opinion driving in snow takes skill and if you have a problem with that, that's a problem with your driving abilities, not the game. Plus, driving up into the hills in the north in winter, when the sun is setting...that's the most beautiful any Horizon game has ever looked. Also, in winter your drift scores are increased by about 2-3%, which was crucial for those of us trying to get high scores on the Needle Climb.
I will never understand why people hated winter. Everyone liked snow in FH3, then for some time liked it in FH4 and then suddenly started to hate it. I had never any problems with driving on snow, I think people just could'nt adjust themself to the conditions. If you max out a car then ofcourse it will be difficult to drive soo I think its the people not the season.
Also one thing that would've made sense is in the winter season (and others) is if the weather, particularly snow, cleared up and was sometmes lighter and changed more instead of always being in the way. That would of made the experience more refreshing. Also at least where i live it only snows a few times a year but in Edinburgh it is probably much more common
BIG VOUCH for the steering wheel settings. FH4 was always a laid back game for me to use with a controller, and I would use my wheel in more "simmy" games. When I finally decided to use the wheel on FH4 I was able to use it like it should be used, but something felt off. Kind of similar story as with PC2. Hopefully the improvements they said they added for wheels makes it feel a lot more natural
i also played all forza horizon games and being honest the first time i played hf4 i felt like there was something missing, reason why recently i was more stuck with fh3 or fh1 (still have it on my xbox 360). When i finished the main campaign i felt like "wait that's it?" i felt like i was just halfway through because of how "static" it was. Surely some events were pretty awersome like the hovercraft but im pretty sure im going to enjoy way more the fh5 campaign since it's a great step forward for me (still fh1 will be my favourite one)
One benefit 4 had over 2 and 3 was the manufacturer view when i wanted to change/select my car.. Quick jump to a certain manufacturer saved so much time, in comparison with previous games. And about winter, i agree 100%, man i hated that, to the point where i stopped playing during winters.
The wheel issue is real! I love Horizon games. I started with FH3 but played it at a very casual pace as I was a lot more into sports games at the time. When Horizon 4 came out I went all out. Played it over and over but was never wowed by it… Probably scenery and weather reasons. Then, during the pandemic I bought a wheel and was immediately frustrated. I race well on controller so it was very frustrating. So much so that I’ve only used the wheel 8 times… I know the number because thats how little I used it. To hear your review of the wheel changes brought some serious joy and I’m VERY excited to see how my skills transition with the wheel into FH5!
Agree on every point. Also, the snow season was dissappointing compared to the snow map we got in Horizon 3. I still sometimes visit Blizzard Mountain just to enjoy those crazy snowstorms and deep snow offroading ❄☃️

i wish this video was out a few days ago, i bought a g29 with the intention of playing fh4 until fh5 releases, i've been searching settings for days and none of them feel good at all, i was regretting buying it so much. thanks for letting me know i'm not crazy
I had a terrible time with the wheel too. For me I’m on thrustmaster TMx. For me the precise issue was that the in game steering would return to centre a fraction later than the actual wheel. Meaning there was a noticeable pause between my input and the game responding (this could not be mapped out on Xbox no matter the settings), and unless you have super human telepathy it’s simply un- drivable in that state.
Completely agree about the seasons it was really cool at first but after a while it got tiring, especially when you want to drive something fast rather than an off-road oriented car.
I bought Logitech G923 exclusively for FH4. Boy how I was disappointed. Gap between what I could do with controller (driving on sim mode without any assists) compared to what I struggled with using wheel was astounding. Happy to hear they redesigned whole thing.
I also loved the added verticality over FH3. That map was so flat, whereas FH4 had the mountains in the north and the magnificent Fortune Island DLC, which grew to be the best DLC for drifters by a million miles. I'm hoping FH5 has even more verticality, not just in the volcano but elsewhere. It really makes a map feel alive.
With playing FH4 on a wheel, I too use a Logitech G920, but I have found that you can’t feel what the tyres of the car are doing, which is the whole point of force feedback. I have fiddled with the FFB settings, but the wheel always came across as too light, like the tyres were made of butter. Like Eric, I then tried F1 2020 and Assetto Corsa, and then Project CARS 2, and my wheel has felt far better than it ever did in Forza Horizon 4.
Thanks for the film Eric. I won't miss the obnoxious driving of the drivatars when in offline mode. Determined to crash you, especially when you leave your house at the start of a drive or if you've programmed a long route. They always seem to be going slowly right on the apex of a fast turn when you arrive doing Mach 3. Very annoying.
4 was the first and only horizon that i've played thus far and I thoroughly enjoyed it up to the point where multiplayer stopped working for half of my friends that played it as well as my save being corrupted. Had almost 30mil and around 700ish cars. After corruption I only had 2mil and around 200 cars and some of the cars on the garage screen no longer had an image on them. Up to that point the game was great and I had easily put in hundreds if not thousands of hours into it. As far as all these bugs and glitches other players have experienced, I never really experienced them myself. The game had always worked fairly well for me.
A lot of the cars in FH4 were upgradable to unstoppable beasts. I'd miss the Ferrari 599 Evo 300+ mph speed glitch, cause it was amazing how fast the car goes. I bet you agree that it's very cool. FH4's 599 Evo is the Koenigsegg Jesko of the game, until the Jesko itself was introduced.
Idk about you but i loved just to wait for winter to just drift around the map its really fun im actually really sad that snow wont be really seen much in fh 5
4:06 I live in London so it is a bit different to the north but it rarely snows properly here once or twice a year at the most sometimes we get practically no snow.

Literally in winter in the uk we barely ever get snow but in forza horizon it makes out like we have consistent snow every winter which is not the case at all
Something that I would like to see is with the winter season: changing month by month. You made a great point about how sometimes GB won't see as much snow in one winter vs another. If they could tone down the snow one month and make it an all out blizzard another, that would be so cool.
The winter honestly grew on me. While it could be annoying it was an amazing week for a cruise. Just like the car sounds, while awful it was kinda funny revving a 4 rotor to 10k

I think the main reason why so many people hated Horizon 4's car sounds is because of Motorsport 7, which used some kind of weird sound engine that probably had nothing but a few sliders/toggles that made all the cars sound computerized and artificial. Combine that with the completely different sounding copy-pasted recordings that were almost never accurate and you've got a recipe for disaster.
I think car sounds could have been better for many cars. However i kinda got used to the UI for Horizon 4. But I definitely agree with the horizon life thing being in every tab, think thats pretty redundant. BUT i really liked how the cars were listed in FH4, multiple rows to consolidate and shorten the time it takes to scroll through a section. Winter was cool for a couple seasons, but i agree, it gets old. I actually like the clothing items though, but obviously there were too many things like that in the wheelspins. But ive gotta say, i really really want the ability to make a convoy with ai drivatars like in horizon 3. That was always fun for me because i dont play online.
Bugs for me mainly, here are the two main ones I find annoying: 1. I won't miss the insane loading times when playing online with other randoms (I'm hoping this is not something in FH5) 2. some in-game physics for cars are crazy, hitting a breakable object (e.g fence) would send me flying to the other side of the track or even spinning me. But saying that I loved FH4, the landscape was quite pretty, even though winter was more difficult to drive, it looked amazing. Can anyone confirm if FH5 will implement the following for online races: 1. Ghosting at start of the race 2. Ghosting if someone tried to RAM 3. Wall riding penalty
Winter is awesome if you install snow tyres, i umderstand many players don't know about snow tyres, but here in Sweden it's not even legal to use summer tyres in winter, since we have alot of snow in winter, especially in the northern parts :) Rwd hypercars are not good for winter, but a slightly slower cars is great in winter if it has snow t🔏yres 😀❗

Personally I don't find any issues with my G29 on FH3, FH4, FM7, GT series, etc. Simply just have to adapt to the driving style of each game. My wheel settings are on default in-game and 900 degree in Logitech settings. I am kind of opposite to most people since I can't really play racing games with controller.
Gamers when FH4 comes out: This game is good Gamers when FH5 comes out: FH4 was terrible Gamers when FH6 comes out: FH5 was terrible, The community should be more grateful for FH4

Snow in videogames is awesome, but not when it covers the whole map for a full week
Using is sparingly or in sections would've been a better option!
Thing is it hardly snows here in the UK
I think about a third of the roads weren't covered in snow, but most country roads and little side streets are covered in snow

I know almost everyone hated snow. But kinda bummed that only like 1-2 tracks in FH5 are gonna be snowy. Just by the mountain top. Kinda odd that they still have snow tires in the game.

I loved the winter season, was my favorite. I love snowy landscapes IRL and made it fun to do my weekly challenges, didn't care much at all for summer, no leaves or flowers or snoaw.

I for one thought the seasons were actually a really cool addition and I enjoyed having new looks to the game every week, I think winter could’ve been a bit shorter or have been more than just snow everywhere, woulda been cool to see actual changes in how quickly your tires heat up and woulda been cool to see snowstorms like in blizzard mountain

I think that a cool new feature with Fh5 is that you can actually gift cars to new players or a player of your choice. So now you can technically “trade” cars with other players as well as race for “pink slips”. It’s just a nice feature to have for plenty of reasons.

Yep, still to this day for me. Horizon 1 was the only game in the series that actually had me wanting to and enjoying playing through the story. There's no sense of progression. Already have like every car in FH5 and it's just like, alright now what. The races give you no sense of progression so why bother.
I will not miss some of the car sounds from previous Horizon games. A lot of them sounded the same. Great content as always ;)

Personally as someone who lives in the UK, I often found horizon 4 less enjoyable to drive around in as many of the places in game I knew in real life which made the feeling of exploring less exciting than in games like horizon 3 which were set in places I'd never been to.

Yeah I refrained from using worst this time because I know for many players Horizon 4 was their first title and to be fair in the grand scheme of Open World Racers it's still the King of the Pack right now.
That last point on the wheel makes me so happy! I bought a wheel a few months back and when I finally got to use it on FH4 I literally hated the feel and couldn't find any realistic settings so I gave up and haven't used it once since the day I got it. Only reason I kept it all this time was in hopes that FH5 would get it right and hearing that they did made it worth it to keep the wheel so I'm beyond happy.
I'm not a fan of the crew 2 cat handling but try the wheel, cruising actually feels better on the wheel than it does in fh4, only reason I kept my wheel too bro.

I actually really liked the physics. I also liked the way my cars felt with them. Maybe it's just me but Horizon 3 didn't feel quite as realistic (I run hardest difficulty, no assists.)

For an open-world title, the physics are pretty good. Only problem with FH4 was the force feedback with the wheel. But I could still enjoy it with my G923.

But in all honesty the physics where absolutely terrible with a steering wheel. On the other hand with a controller it was just perfect. Not too realistic and not too Arcady.

For me with the g920 on fh4 is that you can't really 'feel' the car stepping out when drifting or sliding into a corner until its too late, and the force feedback was a bit naf aswell

Winter was by far the best season for me. I love driving around in the snow and messing around in the icy conditions. The seasons gave it so much more life. FH3 was very bland I though, fun to play but bland. That’s why I loved blizzard mountain. Really hoping FH5 has the same feel with the storms etc. Already pre ordered the premium version and can’t wait
I'm more in line with you, not other commenters here. I can't say winter was the best for me but I did really enjoy it. Partly because it was such a change from the others. Overall, I also prefer FH4 to FH3 and not just because it's my home country. For me, the map of FH3 was the big letdown. Not because of it's diverse biomes but because of the layout. All the interesting areas where at the edges of the map and you had to deliberately go out of your way to drive through them. The lighthouse, the canyon, the pink lakes and the pool in the jungle. I also never felt any desire to drive through the middle of the map when going north/south, it always seem to lead me along the far left or right roads. I also found the not-a-city a bit bland. FH4 certainly had it's issues and FH3 was still excellent, I just felt a bigger desire to play FH4 more. :-)
I will miss the green setting of 4, but looking forward to the evolution of 5. I'll just have to stomach Mexico!

No unfortunately it doesn't, from memory I believe the detailed stats also shows the cars drivetrain, P.!, it doesn't change the view of the car sadly.
Couldn't agree more on every point, FH4 was still an enjoyable game, but FH3 with its expansion has left me much much more memories of good times than FH4
I play fh3 and 4 on wheel and I find drifting and just driving in general in fh3 is way easier and more gratifying than that in fh4. Having driven a car irl although not at speed I find fh4 to be very buggy on wheel such as the force feedback jerking violently to one side for no reason. I didnt get this with fh3. I hope fh5s ffb wheel gameplay is much like that of fh3 where it just felt more satisfying to use.
OH MY GOD THANK YOU FOR MENTIONING THE G920!!! I thought it was only me! I bought mine back in 2018 and thought mine was faulty too until I went to Dirt and realized how amazing the wheel is. FH4 with the g920 was absolutey unplayable. I had friends come over and try their hardest to even stay on the road. A terrible disappointment. I haven't had the chance to play FH5 with the wheel yet but I hope it will be better.

I've played every horizon title and for me best to worst is horizon 1,3,2,4 and I hope 5 will be good, looks brilliant but hopefully it's as good as it looks

When ever it's winter season in fh4 I just took the week off from that game
I think the reason for the short highway is that it isn't diagonal, its straight up and down and doesn't even stretch all the way to the bottom nor does it bend around the corner of the map for some extra length
I might be the only one but I actually really like playing in winter, every time winter hits I just like to cruise relax and pull up mad slides in a RWD car (I don't play that often bcs of my time schedule ) Yea, I agree with you on the default settings of wheels, but with some fine adjustments it's actually pretty good, and the physics are better then fh3 where they seemed like an arcade game.
Horizon 4 was my first horizon game and was actually the reason i have an Xbox. My Dad (Who before was a playstation fan over xbox) saw trailers for horizon 4 and thought it looked so good that he got me an xbox for christmas.

I loved winter for its beauty. In my opinion driving in snow takes skill and if you have a problem with that, that's a problem with your driving abilities, not the game. Plus, driving up into the hills in the north in winter, when the sun is setting...that's the most beautiful any Horizon game has ever looked.
Also, in winter your drift scores are increased by about 2-3%, which was crucial for those of us trying to get high scores on the Needle Climb.
The wheel support and clunky UI we're huge no gos for me in FH4. Glad I wasn't alone on that.
Worst thing about the wheelspins in FH4 is that the quick sell option wasn't added until quite late on for duplicate cars!!
I will never understand why people hated winter. Everyone liked snow in FH3, then for some time liked it in FH4 and then suddenly started to hate it. I had never any problems with driving on snow, I think people just could'nt adjust themself to the conditions. If you max out a car then ofcourse it will be difficult to drive soo I think its the people not the season.
Also one thing that would've made sense is in the winter season (and others) is if the weather, particularly snow, cleared up and was sometmes lighter and changed more instead of always being in the way. That would of made the experience more refreshing. Also at least where i live it only snows a few times a year but in Edinburgh it is probably much more common
BIG VOUCH for the steering wheel settings. FH4 was always a laid back game for me to use with a controller, and I would use my wheel in more "simmy" games. When I finally decided to use the wheel on FH4 I was able to use it like it should be used, but something felt off. Kind of similar story as with PC2. Hopefully the improvements they said they added for wheels makes it feel a lot more natural
i also played all forza horizon games and being honest the first time i played hf4 i felt like there was something missing, reason why recently i was more stuck with fh3 or fh1 (still have it on my xbox 360). When i finished the main campaign i felt like "wait that's it?" i felt like i was just halfway through because of how "static" it was. Surely some events were pretty awersome like the hovercraft but im pretty sure im going to enjoy way more the fh5 campaign since it's a great step forward for me (still fh1 will be my favourite one)
I completely agree with your point on Winter Season, it was not fun to drive around in fun RWD sportscars.
One benefit 4 had over 2 and 3 was the manufacturer view when i wanted to change/select my car.. Quick jump to a certain manufacturer saved so much time, in comparison with previous games. And about winter, i agree 100%, man i hated that, to the point where i stopped playing during winters.
The wheel issue is real! I love Horizon games. I started with FH3 but played it at a very casual pace as I was a lot more into sports games at the time. When Horizon 4 came out I went all out. Played it over and over but was never wowed by it… Probably scenery and weather reasons. Then, during the pandemic I bought a wheel and was immediately frustrated. I race well on controller so it was very frustrating. So much so that I’ve only used the wheel 8 times… I know the number because thats how little I used it. To hear your review of the wheel changes brought some serious joy and I’m VERY excited to see how my skills transition with the wheel into FH5!

I had a terrible time with the wheel too.
For me I’m on thrustmaster TMx.
For me the precise issue was that the in game steering would return to centre a fraction later than the actual wheel.
Meaning there was a noticeable pause between my input and the game responding (this could not be mapped out on Xbox no matter the settings), and unless you have super human telepathy it’s simply un- drivable in that state.
Completely agree about the seasons it was really cool at first but after a while it got tiring, especially when you want to drive something fast rather than an off-road oriented car.
I bought Logitech G923 exclusively for FH4. Boy how I was disappointed.
Gap between what I could do with controller (driving on sim mode without any assists) compared to what I struggled with using wheel was astounding.
Happy to hear they redesigned whole thing.
I also loved the added verticality over FH3. That map was so flat, whereas FH4 had the mountains in the north and the magnificent Fortune Island DLC, which grew to be the best DLC for drifters by a million miles.
I'm hoping FH5 has even more verticality, not just in the volcano but elsewhere. It really makes a map feel alive.
With playing FH4 on a wheel, I too use a Logitech G920, but I have found that you can’t feel what the tyres of the car are doing, which is the whole point of force feedback. I have fiddled with the FFB settings, but the wheel always came across as too light, like the tyres were made of butter. Like Eric, I then tried F1 2020 and Assetto Corsa, and then Project CARS 2, and my wheel has felt far better than it ever did in Forza Horizon 4.
Thanks for the film Eric. I won't miss the obnoxious driving of the drivatars when in offline mode. Determined to crash you, especially when you leave your house at the start of a drive or if you've programmed a long route. They always seem to be going slowly right on the apex of a fast turn when you arrive doing Mach 3. Very annoying.
4 was the first and only horizon that i've played thus far and I thoroughly enjoyed it up to the point where multiplayer stopped working for half of my friends that played it as well as my save being corrupted. Had almost 30mil and around 700ish cars. After corruption I only had 2mil and around 200 cars and some of the cars on the garage screen no longer had an image on them. Up to that point the game was great and I had easily put in hundreds if not thousands of hours into it. As far as all these bugs and glitches other players have experienced, I never really experienced them myself. The game had always worked fairly well for me.
A lot of the cars in FH4 were upgradable to unstoppable beasts. I'd miss the Ferrari 599 Evo 300+ mph speed glitch, cause it was amazing how fast the car goes. I bet you agree that it's very cool. FH4's 599 Evo is the Koenigsegg Jesko of the game, until the Jesko itself was introduced.
Idk about you but i loved just to wait for winter to just drift around the map its really fun im actually really sad that snow wont be really seen much in fh 5
4:06 I live in London so it is a bit different to the north but it rarely snows properly here once or twice a year at the most sometimes we get practically no snow.
Forza horizon 4 will still be one of the best Open world racing games out there IMO even though it had its flaws

Something that I would like to see is with the winter season: changing month by month. You made a great point about how sometimes GB won't see as much snow in one winter vs another. If they could tone down the snow one month and make it an all out blizzard another, that would be so cool.
The winter honestly grew on me. While it could be annoying it was an amazing week for a cruise. Just like the car sounds, while awful it was kinda funny revving a 4 rotor to 10k

I think the main reason why so many people hated Horizon 4's car sounds is because of Motorsport 7, which used some kind of weird sound engine that probably had nothing but a few sliders/toggles that made all the cars sound computerized and artificial. Combine that with the completely different sounding copy-pasted recordings that were almost never accurate and you've got a recipe for disaster.
I think car sounds could have been better for many cars. However i kinda got used to the UI for Horizon 4. But I definitely agree with the horizon life thing being in every tab, think thats pretty redundant. BUT i really liked how the cars were listed in FH4, multiple rows to consolidate and shorten the time it takes to scroll through a section. Winter was cool for a couple seasons, but i agree, it gets old. I actually like the clothing items though, but obviously there were too many things like that in the wheelspins. But ive gotta say, i really really want the ability to make a convoy with ai drivatars like in horizon 3. That was always fun for me because i dont play online.
In regards to UK Winters: I don't remember the last time we had significant snow during Winter. It just rains a lot.
Bugs for me mainly, here are the two main ones I find annoying:
1. I won't miss the insane loading times when playing online with other randoms (I'm hoping this is not something in FH5)
2. some in-game physics for cars are crazy, hitting a breakable object (e.g fence) would send me flying to the other side of the track or even spinning me.
But saying that I loved FH4, the landscape was quite pretty, even though winter was more difficult to drive, it looked amazing.
Can anyone confirm if FH5 will implement the following for online races:
1. Ghosting at start of the race
2. Ghosting if someone tried to RAM
3. Wall riding penalty
I will never miss the general vibe of horizon 4, the drum and bass and the general feeling of the UK
Winter is awesome if you install snow tyres, i umderstand many players don't know about snow tyres, but here in Sweden it's not even legal to use summer tyres in winter, since we have alot of snow in winter, especially in the northern parts :) Rwd hypercars are not good for winter, but a slightly slower cars is great in winter if it has snow t🔏yres 😀❗

Winter season was the best season. It had the best visibility and if you weren’t experienced you’d not know how to drive on snowy roads or the occasional ice

Personally I don't find any issues with my G29 on FH3, FH4, FM7, GT series, etc. Simply just have to adapt to the driving style of each game. My wheel settings are on default in-game and 900 degree in Logitech settings. I am kind of opposite to most people since I can't really play racing games with controller.
I'll be honest I didn't hate winter. I just went to the frozen lake and played around with track tires on red cars. I had fun.
