I messaged you on Instagram. I have a casting of the original hilt for Highlander 2’s Connor sword. Not for sale, but thought you’d get a kick out of it.
I bought the Duncan sword at Excalibur Cutlery in Southcenter Mall in the late 90’s. It was the one from Toledo Spain. It was stolen a few years ago. Will always be my favorite sword from the franchise.
The highlander 2, had a scene where Connor McCloud enters a café and walks to a jukebox. I bought the exact same jukebox for my 21st. Birthday. It was an Ami manufacturered 200 record model, 125db amp in it, it could rattle windows.

So cool! I'm sorry to say I've never heard of Highlander until right now, but your enthusiasm for the franchise makes me want to check it out! You have a great collection.
Nice! Highlander is what got me into sword fighting and I'm a HUGE fan of (most) of the franchise. Some friends of mine were writers on the series. I also wrote the majority of the sword entries for the Watcher Chronicles DVD extra features. I also wrote the Chronicle entry for Herbet Gris/Graydon Hammer, and my face is the face of Peter Gaicus, who was mentioned in a conversation between Methos and Joe towards the end of the series.
I loved this walk down memory lane. I had forgotten about Atlantic cutlery, but I did in fact buy many swords and knives from them. I started with the original, and pretty much watch the second one for the scene when he becomes young again. I love the collection. I am rewatching the show, also my favorite from the time, right now. I need to get on that list!
I didn't see the Highlander series until it was reruns when I was in high school. But I remember loving it so much. I don't remember the last time I watched it, but it has been more than a decade.
Until we meet [probably in an underground car-park] Bill; I will say this one time..."THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE". One Conner MacLeod - One Highlander movie. "I've got something to say...it's better to burn out than to fade away"

I honestly can't describe the joy I get when I find out that someone I'm a fan of is also a fan of something I love. Highlander has always been one of my favorite franchises ever... of all time. I've even seen a bit of the spin-off series. I think Richie's sword might be a fun little project.
We just had a zoom viewing with a group of friends of the original Highlander movie, then I see you are doing Highlander segments. Coolness! On to the request: The Kurgan's sword, not just the sword, but the sword that he puts together. Either as just a display of the part, or what I'd really love to see...one that can be put together.
Very cool collection, Highlander was a good show, remember watching it as a kid and I’m just rewatching it now. Working on a statue of another TV show I used to watch, can’t wait to finish it and print it.
Highlander was my absolute favorite! I had the sword but it got stolen and I always wanted to rebuild that collection. I’m totally jealous of what you’ve got. Awesome story awesome mythology. The movies kind of flew off course but that doesn’t take away from the magic that the original had and the TV series. Groovy video
How about the Toledo-Salamanca sword used by Fasil in the beginning of "Highlander"? It's basically modelled on the sword of Philip II of Spain, but it is a beauty nevertheless.
When I lived in L.A. in '97, I worked at the Virgin Megastore with a fella who worked as a production assistant on the Highlander series. My roommate's mom was a crazy fan of Adrian Paul, and my co-worker was able to hook her up with a Highlander crew jacket. It was pretty sweet.
You should make a screen accurate version of the sword with a consafe blade (I would love to see if it is possible to make a good looking sword blade that is both consafe and also not too fragile...)
It's been many, many moons since the movie (which I loved BTW), but Queen's Who Wants to Live Forever "I love my style" lyrics are still stuck in my head!
DUDE, I was crazy for Highlander since I saw the first movie back in the campus theater at Purdue in 1986. (I think I'm about 10 years ahead of you in age.) I never did props or costumes from it, but if I was husky like Clancy Brown, I'd have totally done Kurgan "in disguise" with all the safety pins in neck. I'm sorry your intro was the 2nd movie, or as we called it "the Sickening".... that Renegade version was slightly better, but man, WOW. I only got to see some of the Adrian Paul series though. "Hi. Hi, I really liked your video, I wanted to ask you where you bought that version of Duncan Macleod's katana since that particular model I have been looking for for a long time to buy if you know where I can buy it, I would appreciate it if you tell me where Thank you
I could share with you so much stories about Highlander the series. In different context, I came to work with a script, a producer and a screenwriter of the series. So let's dig in : who is your favorite character from the series ?
Highlander is one of my all-time favorite movies. I have the Marto licensed Connor katana, and I love it. Sadly, the cats got a bit too amped up one day, and somehow knocked it over, breaking of the dragon's head. I still have all the pieces, but short of trying to glue it back together, I don't know if I can fix it. Also, I have that Queen album, and it's fantastic!

I've got the marto Connor katana that I bought about 20 years ago as well. It's always been my favourite movie. Was going to have a massive kurgan tattoo but went with all my favourite music album covers instead.
@@punishedprops that's kind of how I knew she was a keeper. She hadnt seen any of the other movies or show and still went out with me to see it because she liked me.
Am so with you on the Highlander series... dont own a sword, but have the dvd sets and met Ardian Paul on a convention...a very cool and nice guy. There can be only one...
We don't acknowledge the second movie. Even the fan edit that removes all the references to aliens it's a horrible tragedy. The third movie was just a remake of the second with Mario Van Peebles. I saw that in the theater. Unfortunately. There was Highlander the Movie (there can be only one) and Highlander: The TV Show. I think the Highlander TV show was the first complete set show I owned on VHS.
Just as a heads up, IF you decide to do the MacLeod claymore (it's more of a longsword/bastard sword) there are photos of the screen used prop on the prop store website
quite honestly, the Highlander 1 movie was long time my favorite (and then came Jackson and the Ring). The soundtrack however is simply beyond compare, one of the best albums of all times (fun fact: a kind of magic was Queen's commercially most successful single release ever). :)
Highlander 2 or better known as the The Quickening is when Christopher Lambert got hurt very badly using a pipe to deflect sword when he was badly cut. That movie was remade true 2nd movie is called The Final Dimension. Peter Wingfield aka Methos is a real doctor now and Works in LA as Attending Anesthesiologist. All the swords use after The Quickening accident where aluminum for use in the fight scenes the hero sword aka close up where dulled steel. Jacob Kells duel swords from Highlander: End Game would be great prop to make from aluminum.
I loved that they just had their swords when they needed them. I mean, Duncan could be out for a jog in a tank top and shorts and if he encountered another immortal, he immediately had his sword. I never questioned, "Hey, where'd his sword come from?", I just chalked it up to the mystique of the immortals.
Ahh! I love it! The first movie totally caught me, the second was weird but I kinda let it roll off me, but I was totally all in for the series. I never had enough cash to buy the replica swords or even the DVDs at the time but I totally would have. I loved that they'd bounced back and forth between Europe and North America, it kept the settings fresh. I think the third movie kinda retconed the whole alien thing, then again they didn't really stick firmly to their initial ideas long, seeing as the first movie was supposed to be the Gathering to end all Gatherings, and the series constantly introduced new immortals.
Could you please make a shin godzilla head (or full body tutorial)? I want to make one but I have no idea how to make the jaw split or how to use led. wanted to make something that allows the jaw to split and the led to slowly turn on when pressing or doing something so that I could copy the movement of when shin godzilla is releasing its atomic breath. Thank you very much I was just wondering how much that was worth I don't know because it came from the manufacturer but it came with a red Scabbard and a golden hand guard and it is beautiful but cost me $350 back when I was twenty years old which is I'm guessing 25 years ago or 30 years ago
I really wish someone out there would sell the handles alone, I have a nice handle on a crap 50.00 knock off but to get it off I'm pretty sure i'd have to take a torch to the blade and I'm terrified of melting the handle. I have yet to find anyone 3d printing them either surprisingly.
In my opinion, the line I remember the most and thought was awesome was in the first movie after McCloud was hauled in from the first fight seen: Cop: You went down that garage to buy this sword from that guy-- What's his name? Nash: - I don't know. You tell me. Cop: Okay, his name's lman Fasil. You fought about the price and cut off his head. Nash: Want to hear another theory? This Fasil was so upset... about the lousy wrestling tonight... in a fit of depression, he cut off his own head.
Dude I have a Duncan McCloud sword sword original from the movie it only cost me $350 it was but that was back in 1996 I think but The Connor McCloud swords are twice as much. I would love one but that's out of my price range 600 or $700 I guess
I love the highlander, that franchise gave birth to my eternal love of swords & characters with swords. The movies are pretty great even if we all agree that the second one is an illegimate child that nobody speak of. The show is one of my favorite tvshows, even if I cried flods over what happened to Tessa.

I really wish someone out there would sell the handles alone, I have a nice handle on a crap 50.00 knock off but to get it off I'm pretty sure i'd have to take a torch to the blade and I'm terrified of melting the handle. I have yet to find anyone 3d printing them either surprisingly.
If the blade isn't good it's entirely possible the handle is just glued on. That's frustrating though!
The book of ancient awords that Brenda wrote from Highlander 1 can be a great prop.
In my opinion, the line I remember the most and thought was awesome was in the first movie after McCloud was hauled in from the first fight seen:
Cop: You went down that garage to buy this sword from that guy-- What's his name?
Nash: - I don't know. You tell me.
Cop: Okay, his name's lman Fasil. You fought about the price and cut off his head.
Nash: Want to hear another theory? This Fasil was so upset... about the lousy wrestling tonight... in a fit of depression, he cut off his own head.
Nice :D
Dude I have a Duncan McCloud sword sword original from the movie it only cost me $350 it was but that was back in 1996 I think but The Connor McCloud swords are twice as much. I would love one but that's out of my price range 600 or $700 I guess
Check out Texas Steel props and replicas
I love the highlander, that franchise gave birth to my eternal love of swords & characters with swords. The movies are pretty great even if we all agree that the second one is an illegimate child that nobody speak of. The show is one of my favorite tvshows, even if I cried flods over what happened to Tessa.
Heck yeah!
Highlander 2 - The Sickening. "There should have been only one!"
(Though I kinda liked the 3rd too, and the series was fun.)
Hah!
I'd say the making a replica case for a kurgan sword for when it's broken down would be pretty damn cool
Oh yeah!
I was so into that show I thought about getting a Watcher tattoo.
Cool!
