Newcastle upon tyne is such a lovely and beautiful city in the north-east of England.I'm from the Netherlands, born and growed up in this little country in europe, but i love England so much.I save money for my emigration to England and.... Yes indeed,...Newcastle upon tyne will be my hometown in the future. But first i go to Londen with Christmas.I çant wait to see London again since 12 years, just three weeks for waiting.Holland sucks,England rocks.

Radiant Silver Labs Hhaha LOVE the Toon! It IS cool - and so quirky and charming and feels like home even when I'm living 5,500 miles from my family and friends and hometown. It's the best :)

Radiant Silver Labs I lived in Newcastle just for a year and I want to go back. I keep on watching these types of videos and feel sad. The Geordies are the most friendliest and I truly felt at home most of the time.

Hahahaha! I asked if he wanted to play "Wonderwall" and he said yes but then played that instead. He's so awesome, we became good buddies whenever we saw him busking. I even ran into him nine months later when I went back to Newcastle for spring break!

I wish I had gotten a chance to explore Chinatown! My group leader took us all on a Hadrian's Wall trip and we hiked along it for 3 hours in drizzly rain, but at the end he rewarded us with the best sticky toffee pudding at a little pub. I hadn't known much about Osbourne Rd. when I lived in the fresher dorms, but when I went back last March, my friends lived right by it. It looked like a lot of fun, I'll have to spend some more time there next time I go! Thanks Charlie!!

Oh my gosh Sina-Kim, thank you for the sweet comment, it made my day! I have lots of videos like that to watch when I miss Newcastle, so the fact that you watch mine to cheer up makes me so happy! Isn't Pitcher & Piano the best ever?! So classy and the drinks are delicious. Next time you really have to go to Grainger Market, it is so cute inside with fabulous deals on all sorts of fresh produce, bread and cheese. Lots of other miscellaneous things as well. Thank you so much for watching! :) xx

Sheila, Brilliant, I was born and brought up in Newcastle but I haven't been back in 30 years but you certainly made me feel home sick.
I remember Northumberland St very well, however when I lived there there were cars and buses going up and down this street, so it's been a long time.

I love your video, Sheila. Every time I feel frustrated because of not going to university there (I preferred to stay home in Germany although I received an unconditional offer from Newcastle Uni), which does happen quite a lot, I watch your video to cheer myself up a bit. And I just love Pitcher and Piano! Next time I visit, I'll definitely check out Grainger Market. Cannot believe I haven't been there yet. Thank you so much for your lovely video!

I need to know, though, which parts don't you agree with? Let me know if you have any suggestions of where I should go on my next trip, because I loooove exploring the Toon and the surrounding areas! x

I live in Newcastle, next time your here you need to visit the discovery museum. You will see why Newcastle is so impressive from its history, first place in the world the electric light bulb was used, fasted ship, etc etc. but on a sad note bob tropples is now closed, its an all meat place now. very sad as a vegetarian myself . thank you for this, nice to see an Americans view of my hometown

Next time you're back in toon, you gotta hit their Chinatown, on Stowell St.(Across from St. James' Park). Their Chinese food, rates right up there with NYC's Chinese.
You have to go see Hadrian's Wall. Newcastle, UK was once the northernmost military outpost for the Roman Empire.
Surprised you didn't hang out on Osbourne Rd for more nightlife. I visit the toon 2-3x a year, to be with me Geordie Lass. If you need suggestions on what to do/where to visit, please free free to ask. Charlie

You're right, I don't mention the Tyne Bridge at all! I can't believe I didn't! Well, I included some clips of it so at least viewers can see what it looks like. Hi!! Yes, as w411y1 has pointed out, you can definitely take the metro from the airport right into the city centre. I used to take it to the Haymarket station, but you can also get off at Monument to be right near Grainger Market, or Central Station. I believe there is a stop near St. James' Park as well, and possibly one closer to the Quayside? I think I rode it to there once, but I forget the name of the stop.
