How tidy were those sheilas? Can you make the wifi be geofenced to your property? For a bit of fun I often get some wigel wifi going on my phone to see if people have a dashcams operating, logs their ssid, mac & gps location.
They had the usual bitch face and stupid tattoo though... well one of them did. My stupid car tried to do some bluetooth pairing to someone while I was driving down the highway the other day. Fucking bluetooth.
Very curious. What is your background? Every time I come to your channel. there is always something different. You are like Johny Sins but for TECH. You fuk with everything lol.
I'm no expert but judging by the cutouts in the overhead map lights, i reckon its a set of microphones for bluetooth/voice commands. Could be speakers up there too but bit weird if it is
Did you try to avoid the pinging to Google? Or just did it the easy way? The problem with this approach is that you still need internet access at all times, otherwise the wifi connection drops. I'm trying to avoid this ping in order to skip this dependency but to no avail at the moment...
Great install, thanks for sharing how you set it up. Nice work on the glove-box reassembly too. 😂 How's the stereo going? I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product !!
Very good videos! Won't you loose warranty doing all this changes in the car? I'm from Brazil. Here Byd is giving a five year warranty in new cars. But the owner has to take the car to a authorized service periodically in order to keep the warranty (actually Byd is also giving one year of free maintenance). But, in order to keep the warranty, one is not allowed to make any changes in systems of the car in non authorized services. Sorry for my english...
Did you do anything to disable the A pillar airbag before pulling the trim piece away, or were you just very careful? Or… not, I suppose, if that’s appropriate! :)
@@svenwaibel7007 Right, ok. I'm guessing you must be in another country then, Europe maybe? There's barely any wait time for EVs in Australia, even Teslas are available within 1-2 months.

This is an awesome guide, thanks for sharing! Did you have to angle the side cameras towards the front to get full coverage given they are on windows near the rear of the car?
Paul, did you explore using the existing cable setup in the OEM Dashcam area so you could feed through the Infotainment, or is that not possible (just curious if it can be done) Also, don’t suppose if I drove my Seal and BlackVue DR750S-2CH dashcam over, you’d instal it for me for a fee? I need to get it done, but want to get someone to do it that won’t totally F-up my car because they don’t know what they’re doing! 😜
I didn't see a constant 12v on that OEM dashcam wire, so I wanted to do it my way to be sure it's not reliant on any other system. Also, I'm quite sure you can do your own camera install. I mean, I just showed you how to do it :P
You did, and it just told me I’m too chickenshit to try! 😂 (Keeping in mind that I once fried the electrics in my old Datto 260z by putting in the battery back to front about 20 odd years ago - shows my lack of competency to touch any sort of car electrics or wiring… Sadly, I’ve got a brother in Perth that’s an Electronic/TeleComms Tech that would be perfect but unfortunately wrong side of the country. All good, I’ll find someone in Brisbane to do it for me - just have to pull the proverbial finger out.
70W seems quite a high power draw for a couple of pokey cameras: are you sure the didn't have 2x 300mA fuses rather than 3A? (For cameras, I've never had an issue taking power from the nearest wire; and you will have 12V Battery from the dome lights, and there's probably a switched 12V in that big lump in the ceiling.) I admire your fastidiousness though!
Hey Paul, I’d seen some documentation saying there’s an internal fuse box that would let you skip needing to go into the “engine bay” area. Was that inaccurate? Thanks for posting mate, my Seal Premium has just arrived at the dealership as of yesterday, these videos are a godsend
Hey Paul, you're a pretty bright fella. Simply dont know how the BYD derives its 12V constant supply. If from 12V SLA battery, then constant quiescent drain from dashcam will cause it to sulfate, or accelerate its aging. Of course with the assumption that it's not a deep cycle battery. Additionally, as an FYI, Rossmann recently published a series of video RE fuses available on platforms such as Amazon (and by extension eBay, Aliexpress etc). Conclusion was that they withstand at least 2x their current rating for an extended duration. Cheeeeeeeers!
Me and Louis Rossmann think very much alike. I saw that fuse video too. As for the 12v battery, it's a lithium thing which gets charged from the big battery pack. I've had a similar dashcam setup in a Tesla for years. The Tesla originally had a lead acid 12v battery, but I changed that for a lithium one too. Either way, it's not going to drain to zero.
There’s an app you can run now on the android system which records all 4 360 vision cameras. It’s been out in the wider community for about a day now. So this video didn’t age well 😂
@@TallPaulTech fair. If your video is to show people how to install an additional 4 cameras to the existing 7 cameras already in the Seal, then this is a great show-and-tell 👍

Got any footage of removing the plastic of the window frame? Where does the wire need to be to don’t interfere with the airbags?
Hi, how to remove the internal light panel? Is it hold in places only by clips or tthere are any screws?
Thanks for your videos it's really informative keep it up ❤

Imagine how many devices would be completely fucked if Google decides to shut down its DNS one day.
Just update the software to use some other public one…
That brings a new meaning to the Killed by Google site ;)
@TallPaulTech can you tell our show, how to get the airbag out?
Is it save to just pull it out?

Surprised you couldn't use the 12v supply that's right there under the cover for the BYD dash cam - I assume there's both constant and switched 12v.
Don't assume that
The BYD dash cam doesn’t have a parking mode, there’s a significant risk it doesn’t get constant power

A car manufacturer can't dictate what you do to your car. If I put a stereo in, and the air con dies, those two are unrelated.
