    Great vid! I ride a 99 shadow,wanted one ever since I sat in my brothers when I was a teen. Being in my 40's I'm very pro safety gear unlike when I was younger. I'm teaching my son to ride now and you hit on all the important points..

    I love your videos. I used to ride friend's bikes 20+ years ago. Two weeks ago I bought my very first one...an 05 Yamaha V Star 650 Classic and I love it. I'm still working on getting my skills back and I have some fears that I have to get over and I'll get over them with time and practice, your videos have helped me. Thank You and
    ......Stay Safe.

      Congratulations on buying your first bike! That is awesome! It takes time and practice, but you will get there! Just keep a positive attitude and in time, those fears will ease. I think we all have some kind of fear when it comes to riding. That is what keeps us from doing stupid things! I am glad my videos have helped you! I appreciate that! You stay safe as well!

    Twowheeld you've touch base on a lot of things I can relate to, im looking at many bikes to start on. I keep leaning towards Yamaha v star 250 for my starter. I eventually would like to get on the Iron 883. Love watching your videos!

    • @TWOWHEELD

      al last thank you for watching! V-Stars are good bikes. Find a bike you are comfortable on and grow into the Iron. They are such cool bikes. I almost bought an Iron for my first bike, but don’t regret the Honda Shadow Spirit 750 one bit! Keep me posted if you pull the trigger on something!

    Hi. What saddlebags do you have on. Looks really nice

    • @TWOWHEELD
      @TWOWHEELD  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there. Thank you. They do look nice on the bike. The previous owner had put the bags on several years ago. I am unsure of the brand. There are no tags or markings of the manufacturer. I have looked, as I get asked often. I have also searched to see if I could find these bags new, and cannot find them. Sorry I’m not much help.

      It is easier to ask for forgiveness than it is for permission. 😆 It is good to have a support system, but I know what you mean. My wife was super supportive at the time, but my dad did not like the idea one bit! Four years later, my wife now rides and my dad still hates that we ride. He had a bad accident 42 years ago, so I understand that. Thanks for watching! Good luck on your purchase!

    I just finished my riding course and passed. Now I need to save money for a bike. I like the Honda shadows, Harleys. I'm looking for a cruiser beginner so my wife and I can ride together. But I'm very excited, I learned a lot from the MSF course through Harley-Davidson. Already a buddy of my wanted to sell me his sons 2008 Honda Shadow 750cc. I'm 5'4" , 160lbs. I like the bike but with no money right now, just have to save. I'm looking for something with mid controls. Can a Honda Shadow convert from forwards to mids? Cool video btw. Thanks.

    • @TWOWHEELD
      @TWOWHEELD  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Congrats on passing the course! My biggest advice would be to sit on several different bikes and find one that fits you. I am not certain on the ability to move controls to mids on the Shadow. I would have to look into if there is a mounting point. If you are looking at Harley, the Sportster 883 comes with mid controls. The Shadow has a relatively los seat height, so that will benefit as well. Just find one you fit well on. You can always tweak it a little with seat and bar changes as well. Thanks for watching!

    Should you be flat footed on the motorcycle?

    • @TWOWHEELD
      @TWOWHEELD  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is a very good question! You want to be comfortable. Some riders can only touch the ball of one foot when they stop. Just as long as you’re comfortable and confident when seated and stopped.

    Whatever you do, don't start on a 750cc bike... its way too big, heavy, and dangerous. Like sitting atop a freight train.
    You want something light, nimble, easy to control, forgiving, easy to stop, easy to work on, fun and flicable.
    Start on a 250cc Honda Rebel. I've got both, and going between the bikes is night and day. I would never ever recommend even the biggest guy start on a 750cc or bigger bike.

    • @TWOWHEELD
      @TWOWHEELD  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you for your feedback. I think everyone has certain limits to consider before they choose a first motorcycle. This motorcycle served perfectly for my wife and I to learn to ride on. I struggled riding the little 250cc in my motorcycle class. I mean, I was able to get a 100% on the riding and written test, but I had already learned to ride on my Shadow before the class. I am tall, and it was difficult to fit on the smaller bike. I still have this Shadow, but I am too tall for this bike. I ride it around locally, but have my big touring bike for the longer trips. It’s nice to hear your perspective, as it is a reminder that everyone does have different limits right from the get go. You want to be able to pick the bike up from its side. If you can’t get it back upright, it’s too big of bike for you. Kind of another way to look at it. Thank you for watching and commenting! Ride safe out there!

      Just saw a Facebook post in the Honda Shadow forum of a guy who started on a 750cc Shadow and is in the hospital and lost both his legs, because he got into a fight with a semi truck on the interstate... and lost. Fun picture of him in hospital and bike still stuck under Semi...

      @@choppergirl that’s too bad! We never like to hear of a fellow biker being injured. Take the proper courses, find the bike that fits your needs at the time, practice in parking lots, continue to practice through the years, and stay vigilant out there! Ride safe.
