I live a short way from a Toppings book shop, but have never been 😱 Covid partly to blame, but I don’t go into town very often and just forgot about it. I take this as a sign that I need to go, pronto! I love Bath - I went a couple of times when I lived in a nearby city and ran the half marathon many years ago - good times, thank you for reminding me. Every time I watch your videos, I think about that you would love The secret garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett! I was given it by my grandmother a year ago. It is a middle grade classic, but even for adults it is wonderful. You are taken into the spring and it really made me embrace nature. Also, the writing style is not normally beautiful. It is about a girl where her parents are dead and she has to move to a very large house with her unknown uncle. She comes across as very weak and grumpy but is forced to go outside and discovers how beautiful spring is and she blossoms like a flower. She finds a secret garden where no one has been for years. And she finds her nephew who is very sick but nature makes him better. I don't know if you have already read it, but if not you really should!
Bath is one of my favourite places for book shopping and cosy coffee shops 😍 I’ve only been a couple of times but would so love to go back again! Also, your videos are soooo cosy and lovely 💕

I have a friend from England (London) who's lived in US for the last 7 years now and he simply cannot understand why any American would ever want to go to Europe. He's been on that California high the whole time he's been here, so much so that he's actively and aggressively put down every other state in comparison. And I don't understand why anyone would want to come from the States unless you happen to be running from a 3rs world country and you've been fed the illusion we all live in mansions and party with celebrities. The USA is harsh, the people are mean, and unfriendly, I don't think bigger or more is always better, and our culture is based on over consumption, over stimulation, and most days I just can't handle it. I'm sure living in Europe has its disadvantages too, but Europeans, annually, are ranked as the happiest people in the world. So, I'd like to be that too.

Since you were in Bath, may I suggest to you "The sinister booksellers of bath" by Garth Nix (though it is the second book of the left handed booksellers of London). Not sure it's your cup of tea but I really liked them both and highly recommend them ^^!

I’ve never seen books all with same cover. How come they all have same cover and same colour?
I think it’s a part of Persephone Books’ branding! Every book that they have published/re-printed have a grey cover and their dove grey covers are so pretty🥰🌱
I also thought that was very interesting! It almost feels as if they want to give some sort of equality to their books? Don’t know if that’s true, but it seems like it hahah.

I have a friend from England (London) who's lived in US for the last 7 years now and he simply cannot understand why any American would ever want to go to Europe. He's been on that California high the whole time he's been here, so much so that he's actively and aggressively put down every other state in comparison.
And I don't understand why anyone would want to come from the States unless you happen to be running from a 3rs world country and you've been fed the illusion we all live in mansions and party with celebrities.
The USA is harsh, the people are mean, and unfriendly, I don't think bigger or more is always better, and our culture is based on over consumption, over stimulation, and most days I just can't handle it.
I'm sure living in Europe has its disadvantages too, but Europeans, annually, are ranked as the happiest people in the world. So, I'd like to be that too.
