I SO feel you on the 'book as a souvenir' thing! I went to the UK (I'm American) and bought so many books because of the different covers + the fact that I got them in the UK is so special when I look at my bookshelves
there's a book called Hidden Manifestation by Oliver Mercer, and it talks about how using some secret techniques you can attract almost everything in life it's not some bullshit law of attraction, it's the real deal
Just so you know, the name Roisin is pronounced 'roh-sheen'! it is an Irish name so the phonetics are different to English. Also, the authors name, Mhairi, is pronounced 'vah-ree', it is a Scottish name. The 'mh' makes a 'v' sound in Scots Gaelic(and sometimes in Irish Gaelic as well!)
I love the ‘ Rachel we don’t need it ‘ self reminder 😂 cause i can totally relate, otherwise this video is just an other form of therapy for me you are so authentic and i enjoyed the shopping as if i am there … thank you girl 🥹
This was so fun to watch! Your excitement is so contagious ☺️ the struggle of being a reader/book collector & seeing all the fun editions that you know you can’t all fit in your suitcase is so real
I like to get a book on a trip and write on the inside cover where I got it and the date! So when I read that book/ look at it in the future I’ll remember the trip I got it on! 📚💕✨
Watching you shop for books at Barnes for the very first time is truly an awesome experience... It's funny bc I loooove the UK covers so much more 90% of the time! ❤️
As someone from the UK, 8 I have to disagree and say our covers are better 😂 plus I think you’d be shocked at the price of our books. I think you’ve lived everyone’s dream to visit B&N in NYC ❤
We just started getting the special sprayed edge books at Barnes recently but we’re getting more and more and I love them!! Loved seeing your bookshopping you were making me laugh :)
Anxious People is one of the most life-changing books I've read! I love it so much. I hope you enjoy it! 💛 I also love the excitement you had with you for this entire video. It's so cute and contagious! Going to Barnes is also a dream for me and I enjoyed watching you fulfill yours. 🥺✨
I've never been in a Barnes & Noble that large! It's such a good feeling when you walk in a bookstore and you get butterflies in your stomach, just everything good is in there!
Been loving these vlogs! So much fun seeing what would be “mundane” to me through someone else’s eyes. ❤ and yes… Barnes can be overwhelming but so fun haha
Ahh i was so excited to see that you went back and bought The Ex Vows! I'm currently reading it because Sara gave it 5 stars i think and i loved loved loveed the cover😍 not really far in yet, but love the writing style, could've cried already on page 50 lol
the way you say H is so satisfying haha. i loved this video, felt like i was walking around with you matching my energy. Fly Away is not necessary reading IMO like Firefly Lane, but i didn't HATE it as i enjoyed having extra time with the characters. it was just kind of like some extra epiloguey stuff but it did get very dark yet weirdly cheesy at times. i think its a very individual preference, i can see how some people didn't like it.
This was so much fun to watch! It was like going book shopping with a friend ☺️ I just picked up Death at Morning House as well, I can’t wait to get to it!
Lol omg Rachel I live in NYC im 34 now and have been going to that Barnes since I was like 12 years old- and its still Overwhelming in there lol 1:49 😂😂😂 i spend so much time in there i get lost
What a coincidence. I was in New York City just this past weekend myself, but I live in Washington, DC, so I do this trip once or twice a year. Anyway, I was also at the Union Square Barnes and Noble and The Strand. I picked up one book at The Strand. (I was there back in March and bought a few others then.) And, I picked up three books at Barnes and Noble. I also bought one book at McNally Jackson. It's fun watching someone else cover the same steps around the same time. When you were in B&N, asking where the fiction was or where the romance was, I said go up the escalator to the 4th floor or look behind you to your video. Apparently, you heard me.;-) Hope you had a good time.
Funny thing about Fly Away is that when I saw Kristin Hannah speak back in Feb she said that was her least favorite book and that she should not have written the sequel. I've read all of her books and I have to agree! :)
Mhairi has been around for years. I picked her up at the start years ago. Read her very first book! You won’t regret it. It’s called - you had me at hello. Nice to see the bootubers talk about her work.
This probably happens in Australia too, but in the US a lot of times bookstores around the area that the author lives in will have books by the author signed because the author can just come by and sign their stock a lot easier. And I’m not sure where in New York Maureen Johnson lives, but I know she lives somewhere in New York.
What a great video! ❤ You are working so hard even when you are on vacation; you have been spoiling us with uploads! You with a view was a great read for me, i think you will like it!
i read and adored the Ornithologists field guide to love, its definitely emily wilde vibes, maybe a bit more romance focused and yes it is a bit silly like the other india holton books, big recommend ❤️
Love, love, love Kristin Hannah! The Four Winds made me cry, scream, and want to punch the daughter many times. My favorite of hers is Winter Garden, but so many great books!
Haha, I love how you act like a kid in a candy store 😄! Barnes & Noble is pure magic! I’d seriously have a hard time choosing, too. If I was there, I’d probably just end up reading random pages of a ton of books! 📖✨
There’s so many fantastic books by Fredrik Backman. I hope you try out some of hos others. A man called Ove, Beartown and my favourite And every morning the way home gets longer and longer. So touching!
i had the chance to see Kristin Hannah’s book tour for the women and she said regretted ever writing Fly Away. I think it’s skippable. Highly recommend True Colors. A heartbreakingly beautiful romance on a ranch. One of her more underrated books in my opinion I adore it.
I went to Los Angeles for the first time last month and I also visited American bookstores for the first time so I feel like I’m watching my own reactions to everything 😅 I live in Greece and we also get the UK covers of most books so buying American editions of some of my fav books was a MUST😍 Also it was so hard to show restraint cause I wanted everything to fit in my suitcase🥹
Girlie you need to get to England and go to 66 books warehouse… ok it’s not arranged the best but all books are 70% off the retail price so it’s like £2/3 like a book outlet
"i'm overwhelmed" after being in the store for literally 15 seconds HAHAHA
“It means… female rage” I’m crying that was perfect🤣
The way your first time experiencing a Barnes and Noble is going to the largest one in the world is insane to me! So happy for you! 🎉
I had the exact experience when I travelled to NY from Aus, it was absolutely magical
This feels like we just got to go book shopping with Rachel as besties on a random Tuesday, I LOVE it🥹
I SO feel you on the 'book as a souvenir' thing! I went to the UK (I'm American) and bought so many books because of the different covers + the fact that I got them in the UK is so special when I look at my bookshelves

As another Aussie, I feel the desperation to want to go to Barnes and Nobles. I cant wait for the day!
I feel like youve been showing more of you’re personalty in videos recently.and youre so hilarious!
Fun fact: the Strand has a warehouse of unpopular and out of print hardcovers and you can purchase them by the yard for interior decorating purposes.
That store is massive!!! To be clear, this is not the norm all over the us. I’m in Colorado and we have nothing even close to this here.
So glad you said this!! It’s bothering me when everyone talks about this book ❤️
Wow thank you! Good to know. I want people to correct me if I mispronounced anything anywhere in any language
@@averyellwood4311 As a Scot the Mhairi pronouncation really annoys me too, even if I understand why people don't know how to pronounce it
I love the ‘ Rachel we don’t need it ‘ self reminder 😂 cause i can totally relate, otherwise this video is just an other form of therapy for me you are so authentic and i enjoyed the shopping as if i am there … thank you girl 🥹

I’m so glad you’re fulfilling your bucket list of things in the U.S.!
when the mic comes out you know it’s gonna be an amazing video
love you singing the alphabet - that is me every day at work, because I have to shelve so many books and can never remember where things go!!!
I like to get a book on a trip and write on the inside cover where I got it and the date! So when I read that book/ look at it in the future I’ll remember the trip I got it on! 📚💕✨

Thankyou from another Aussie for taking us on this journey and giving us all the content from US book shopping. It is truly a dream 😍

I feel like you should frame the Barnes & Noble tote and put in your library room, as it’s too cute to be a grocery bag 💗
I'm so jelly! I want to go to the 4 story Barnes and Noble so bad! I am so happy you got to go!💕
Anxious People is one of the most life-changing books I've read! I love it so much. I hope you enjoy it! 💛

What a dream to visit Barnes and Noble 😍👏✨️ this was so much fun to watch 🤌📖💌💗
Oh, I can so relate to how you felt as you entered B&N for the first time because I felt the same as I entered a b&N as I was in the US 😊
Been loving these vlogs! So much fun seeing what would be “mundane” to me through someone else’s eyes. ❤ and yes… Barnes can be overwhelming but so fun haha

You need to come to the UK and try The Works….the pricing will blow your mind!!

I love the Truly Devious books too! I never hear anyone talk about them so I’m happy you talked about them! Love that you got a signed book from her

Your tote bags are amazing and your joy at being in B&N was a delight!

this was so lovely!!!!! "i'm so overwhelmed" is so me lol. can't wait for you to read the ex vows! i LOVED it. i'm so excited for you
Mhairi has been around for years. I picked her up at the start years ago. Read her very first book! You won’t regret it. It’s called - you had me at hello. Nice to see the bootubers talk about her work.
"I just want everything already and I've only been in here for 3 minutes" That's the most relatable sentence about being in a barnes 😭
This was so fun! I’m so happy you got to go to Barnes!! 🎉☺️
So fun! I feel like i'm with you shopping. Love you bestie Rachel .
I also love “Firefly Lane” and the sequel “Fly Away” is fantastic!
I’ve been so excited for this since you told us you were going to the us!

Haha, I love how you act like a kid in a candy store 😄! Barnes & Noble is pure magic! I’d seriously have a hard time choosing, too. If I was there, I’d probably just end up reading random pages of a ton of books! 📖✨
I started the Pretend You're Mine series by Lucy Score and I didnt think it was too spicy and I reallllyyyyy enjoyed the first one!
You have so much self respect! I would’ve picked up a book the second I walked in😅😅

So excited for this!!!! x
You should totally read a million Junes. I read it earlier this year and loved it!
There’s so many fantastic books by Fredrik Backman. I hope you try out some of hos others. A man called Ove, Beartown and my favourite And every morning the way home gets longer and longer. So touching!

Wow really? I’m reading Firefly Lane right now and isn’t that the sequel to it? I didn’t plan on reading Fly Away either way lol
@@MollywashereYes it’s the sequel. She said she just didn’t think it needed to be written in the Q&A portion.
rachel ur so funny this video is great😂
Some times I prefer the UK covers to the US ones. 🤣 Glad you enjoyed New York! ❤
There’s a stunning Barnes and noble special edition of Emily Wilde and I was hoping you’d see it. It’s so cool!
Loved this! Come back to the US soon ❤
I’m sooo excited!
You singing the alphabet in the aisles was so cute haha 💕
I know the feeling I imagine you felt when you said “12.99!” 😂 I live in 🇵🇦 and books that may be 10 dólares in the US are like $25 here… so sad🥹
I went to Los Angeles for the first time last month and I also visited American bookstores for the first time so I feel like I’m watching my own reactions to everything 😅 I live in Greece and we also get the UK covers of most books so buying American editions of some of my fav books was a MUST😍
