When you're thinking of doing something that you ain't supposed to do, and then you have a second thought, that's gonna be me saying "hey, don't do that". That's when you know i'm watching you. it's lovely and sad. his words of wisdom broke my heart. he seems like a good man and a great grandad. i wish he could spend more timd with his loved ones. also, loved that little boy, Cavalli.
hello hello I was only 18 months old when my grandpa was home on hospice and eventually passed but my parents tell me that I would lay with him and rub his face and tell him “pretty grandpa”. Kids are the best.
Mariam Shakeri my aunt died July 15th she died slowly the way the man said he didn’t want to go she died of liver cancer . She has colon cancer first and we thought it was gone , omg worse day of my life was this summer I watched my aunt slowly go ... she remembered who I as , I told her I loved her everyday ... the day she died ... it still haunts me

This conversation between this boy and his grandfather is very special. I didn't get this conversation with my grandfathers. I doubt most of us do. One passed very unexpectedly when I was only 6. The other...I guess I just wanted to believe he would get better and I would see him next time I was in town. This left me sobbing. It's a very beautiful, very sad, but very significant moment in both their lives, I think. He'll remember his Grandfather forever. Also, just being with your grand kids is enough. I only remember the little things.
Especially at this age, we don't think about it and parents or grandparents are afraid to damage us or upset us by talking about it. When in reality it robs us of the understanding and time we actually need at that age.
same. my family live with my grandparents and i never have this lovely conversation with my grandpa. me and bros are afraid of him bcs he was so strict like we cant run at home, eat in front of tv, or like another typical asian parents lol. and when he passed away, i think we were the most kids that cried so loud. oh i miss him, i miss the way he scolding us.

And the moment they both share crying is heartbreaking. Boy did this one hit home. I recently lost my grandfather in February to stage 4 lung cancer. He was my best friend and it killed me to see him in so much pain. He was extremely depressed and talked so openly about wanting to die. I remember waiting with him outside of the cancer clinic after his radiation treatment, he told me for the first time about how much he wished for death. It broke me, because I realized he died long before his medical issues finally killed him. He was no longer the happy guy who always cracked jokes, but his need to put others before him never changed. The doctors caught the cancer too late, so he only had about 6 months to live. Those were the hardest months of my life. I tried to make last minute memories with him, but it was hard because I knew he didn’t want me to remember him in that state, because like I said, that wasn’t him. I have no idea why I’m writing all of this out for a simple TH-cam comment, but it feels right. I feel what Cavalli is feeling and I have so much respect for him because he’s handling this so well at a young age. I miss my grandfather like crazy, but his additional medical conditions made it impossible for him to live his last 6 months to the fullest. Heart failure, kidney failure (which resulted in dialysis), and then towards the end he had a stroke that left him paralyzed on his left side. It hurt to see him always in a hospital bed, unable to do anything. But those are moments that I will cherish. I’ll always remember holding his hand for the last time and watching the Golden Girls. It’s the little things that will remain present in my memory. Cavalli please know that once your pop pop passes, he is never truly gone. Someone once told me that the sky looks different when there’s someone you love up there. I’m not a believer in heaven or any religious aspects, but I believed in heaven for my grandfather because that’s what he wanted. And I can assure you that ever since his passing, the stars have been brighter and the sunsets are more vivid. The sky is a constant reminder of the beautiful souls we once lost. Hang in there buddy and just know that everything will be alright.
I feel so sorry for you. I also lost my grandfather, but he did not have any life-threatening conditions like cancer or Alzheimer´s. However, he lived far from me, so I could not spend as much time with him as I would have wanted. I was probably his favourite grandson, because I was so quiet and polite, and also studied hard, and every time I was at his home, he would constantly be asking about me from his bed. He died when I was 12, but I am happy for him since I know he is now in Heaven. الله يرحمه
What a beautiful beautiful man. And his beautiful amazing grandson. I hope he’s still here today. And if he isn’t, may god rest his beautiful, eloquent soul. This is an absolutely heartbreaking video. But so important. I don’t know this man, but I love and care for him, his family and everyone in this video. Hey. And you too!
Provocateur why should they die? because they have an addiction to cigarettes and they can’t stop? some were forced to smoke, some wanted to what the “hype” was about and then they got addicted. nobody wants the aftermath of smoking. so saying something like that is childish.
Both my parents were smokers and died of lung cancer before I turned 25. There are times I hate them for choosing smoking over our family. When he said he felt guilty for smoking, man, that really made me feel bad for blaming my parents. We all make mistakes, and at the end of the day I know my parents meant no harm. Thank you Preston and Cavalli.
I started smoking in my teens. No one starts smoking to hurt their family, especially children that aren't even an idea in the head of a teenager seeking to be cool amongst their peers. Addiction is barely an abstract idea to most teenagers. The problem with smoking is that people tend to start young with a self centered teenage brain and after a year it's too late. I've gotten addicted to a couple prescription drugs over the years. Barbiturates and opioids are child's play compared to nicotine. My wife quit smoking about 5 years ago, and she still has a craving at least once a day.
Elisabeth D. my mom smoked since she was 13 up until she started trying to have me.. i’m so grateful that she wanted me in an environment that was safe and that she wanted me to be healthy. smoking is a killer, and i am so sorry about your parents. sending you lots of love.
I did good holding the tears back until he started explaining how his grandson would know he was watching down on him, and started to break down a bit. Broke my heart! 😥💔
Saw all the comments of people saying they cried watching this... thought I wouldn't cry... then the kid started crying and they brought his baby sister out... started crying. I'm having a son next month and I hope I have this kind of bond with him.
😭😭😭😭 Cavali is the sweetest. I’m so proud of his mom and I don’t even know her! Idk if that’s his mother’s father, but the great parenting must have been handed down cuz that was an amazing bonding moment. Cavali will always have his words in his head with every decision he makes. Ugh, I’m a wreck after this one.
Herxilla Mae Edria I’ve seen that video and the one with her showing him which childhood snack was her favorite. When they asked him to say something about his mom and he responded “She’s beautiful,” he stole my heart.
anotherkat4u sorry, what’s the point you’re making? Or are you just wanting to throw a bit of negativity in here? Regardless of WHY a loved one is dying, it will happen, and talking about it and accepting is is very important in order to help yourself grieve properly once they die. I’m not interested in placing blame on anyone, cheers!
I actually broke down at 6:07 when the little boy started crying. What a beautiful, optimistic man he is going to lose, and I hope his quality of life doesn't degrade too much for him not to be able to make amazing memories with his family right up until his passing.
@@yamacode9958 Thanks captain obvious for your pointless and condescending remark. We did actually watch the video and can see that Cavalli is his grandson.
Please reconsider. I'm an ex-smoker. I was diagnosed with bronchitis. It was bad, I swear. Think about your family, think about your life. I will never ever grab and light a cigarette again.
Dec. 2019 and he’s still here. 🥳 His Facebook is active with him posting! God bless this man and his family. This video is already so special, but it will be even more special when his grandson is older and gets to look back at this moment.
This is such an amazing video for Cavalli to have once his Grandpop does pass... Even though the topic is sad, he will have his voice and all of those sweet things he said about his grandkids. Amazing work Hiho, thank you.
Omg, I didn't expect to cry but I lost it when his grandson started to cry...man...I really hate cancer..I pray that he lives to see many more years as much as possible.
Cancer does suck. I work at a preschool and recently learned that one of our kiddos in our afternoon class is fighting cancer (Luekemia) for the second time. She had been in remission, and we found out it has returned. We're hoping that the cancer is "only" in her blood, and not in her bones, but it still sucks. She's also only 5 years old. :(
Stage 4 all you can hope is that they're comfortable with the few months they have. My uncle found tumors all over her chest and bone cancer (he ate healthy and was active) cancer thrives in weakened immunity. He had a knee surgery which woke up dormant cancer in his body... how quick and painful it takes your body if anything you hope that it takes you quick and peacefully.
I've never shed a tear to any youtube video in the however many years... and honestly I thought this would not even be close to getting me but this one got me right at the end with the second thought and the grandkid crying thinking of that connection. The grandkid... I was there with my Granddad and my grandma 7 years later. That hit me hard.
god yes i was just drying my tears when reading your short little comment made me cry all over again, i do miss my grandma and grandpa (and ofcourse not to forget their dog Anoushka) so much, they taught me what love really means!!!
Cavalli, a strong lil man from outside but the kindest from inside. i adore him🧡🧡🧡 God bless Preston. i’m crying. this is the most emotional episode, thank you Hiho!!
Well that just destroyed me. Currently sobbing on my couch. What a lovely dynamic that family has. That little boy is blessed to have had such a real, raw moment discussing it so openly with his grandfather. I think this video will have a profound impact on that young mans life.
I saw a reason for why it feels longer when you're younger. When you're an adult you think about the future a lot more and what you're going to have to do/plan etc. whereas when you're a child, you care about the present and only the present.
Darkability I heard it's cuz when you're 8 (just assuming that boys age) one year is 1/8 of all your life and someone who is 88 one years is 1/88 witch if you see it visually it's a lot smaller then 1/8
When you're about to do something and you get a thought that you shouldn't, that's gonna be me. My god, the love that grandfather has for his grand baby got me for good. I'll remember those words forever and pass them on ❤❤❤ god be with them.
I was already crying before I even got to the part where everyone started crying. This is so special. I love HiHo Kids for having the conversations many don't have and showing the world that whether they're meeting someone who's deaf, a bodybuilder, a transgender vet, someone with Alzheimer's, a little person, a magician or someone terminally ill, kids can have an understanding of differences and circumstances if they're taught to love and have compassion for others.
For real. Kids-even adults-are naturally curious about their world and what happens in it and this gives kids a platform to ask questions in a safe forum. It also gives the adults a way to reach out to kids and tell their stories.
I’m not crying, I’m just cutting onions. He’s such a sweet man. I hope that he will be able to have as much time with his grandchildren before he goes.
Can we have an episode where the kids meet a hopsice worker or someone who works at a retirement home? They are some of the most underappreciated folk out there, who do a wonderful job, in such a depressing place, and the kids would do well to lean from/about them.
a very special episode, can't imagine how hard it was for his grandson to, you know, talk about something like that on camera, but very powerful, and shows just how strong he is. And as usual all the kids are just so sweet
This really hit home. My grandfather passed away from cancer when I was 15 and he was the father figure in my life who played a big part in raising me. 11 years later I still have have fond memories of him and think about him very often. I hope Preston knows that his kids and grandchildren will never forget about him.
Sheila exact same thing here. My grandpa treated me like a son and I lost him 2 years ago. Since I was about 5 years old I told him to quit smoking, and he cried on his death bed asking me to forgive him. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about him.
This hit me to the bones. I lost my mom (liver cancer), my grandma (nasopharyngeal cancer), my uncle (lung cancer), and my grandpa (neck tumor). I lost them to cancer. I never got a chance to say good bye to them except for my mom. Watching this video made me remember that day with her... This video is also a way for kids to cherish their grandparents before it's too late. God bless them
That conversation with the boy and his grandfather hit me hard. One of my Grandfathers passed away before I was even born. His wife my Grandmother lost her battle with cancer and it was so heartbreaking. I was around 13 at the time. Everyone of my mothers siblings were there for her final moments except my mother. Because of stupid immigration laws. As my Grandmother lived in Mexico. I was even there with my father and I remember my Grandmother asking for my mom. Don’t take life for granted kids.
so incredibly relatable man. since I was born into such an old family, I experienced the same thing. my dad is 75 right now. There is a chance he may not even see me graduate. Always took the simplest things for granted... I've rethinked my priorities and morals.
that boy will refrain from making lots of bad decisions in his teen years because he will always have that second thought and think of his grandfather telling him not to
I'm not so sure about that. The brain doesn't retain that kind of memory in that fashion. Chances are, when he is about to do something bad, he won't be thinking about his grandfather. But the notion is nice.
@Zersix That goes for you too. When he's about t beat the meat... all he'll think about is beating the meat... this memory will be pushed aside subconsciously.
This channel is, without a doubt or exaggeration, life-giving content. These "kids get to understand" videos always makes me cry but they're always so worth the watch.
When he said "tell me the truth"...it's a heart to heart talk between grandson and grandpa, no more cameras just family conversation at that point especially when he said " is there anything you want from me and grandma house after I'm gone"??
Just watched the video where Cavalli tries food his Pop Pop grew up with and didn’t get why the comments were talking about “making memories” for the boy. Now I’ve come across this and I’m crying my eyes out at 3 in the morning. Cavalli is an absolute sweetheart and a chip off the old block. Lots of love to the family ♥️
Here's a thing my sister mentioned that made me cry more: thanks to these videos, Cavalli can show his sister what their grandpa was like after he passes and she's older.
omg this breaks my heart for cavalli, he was so young in this video and then years later his grandfather passed on October 29 may god rest his soul peacefully ❤️

Provocateur why should they die? because they have an addiction to cigarettes and they can’t stop? some were forced to smoke, some wanted to what the “hype” was about and then they got addicted. nobody wants the aftermath of smoking. so saying something like that is childish.
Marki Mahalimuyak
What you meant by top notch, financially or educationally?
Sim Hong Shien i think they mean they have good morals no matter their financial situation
Elisabeth D. I’m sorry
I’m sorry that you lost your parents so young. ❤️
M Ouija do you still smoke and take drugs?
5:37 he just changed his grandsons life

He said that and I started sobbing omg

For real. Idk wtf I was expecting from watching this but I didnt think id end up crying this hard.
Ok but can we talk about his style? MY MANS IS A FASHIONISTA
Yeah lol
He really said stylish
Iconic grandpa moment. I love it.
Reminds me of Jebediah (the grandpa from family reunion) when he dressed up with Ami (his granddaughter).
I did good holding the tears back until he started explaining how his grandson would know he was watching down on him, and started to break down a bit. Broke my heart! 😥💔
Yep that's when I lost it.
Yup me too
I busted out crying then
just lost it at that part
At 5:46 when his voice kinda cracked it killed me

Sad sad times 😥😥
😭😭😭😭 Cavali is the sweetest. I’m so proud of his mom and I don’t even know her! Idk if that’s his mother’s father, but the great parenting must have been handed down cuz that was an amazing bonding moment. Cavali will always have his words in his head with every decision he makes. Ugh, I’m a wreck after this one.
Koriluv91 he ever compliment his mother beautiful too on the camera❤
You should watch the spicy noodle challenge with his mom :) They are pretty close
I agree. He's going to be a good man.
It’s been like 15 minutes and I’m still crying! A total wreck. -Bec
Herxilla Mae Edria I’ve seen that video and the one with her showing him which childhood snack was her favorite. When they asked him to say something about his mom and he responded “She’s beautiful,” he stole my heart.
“It’s not depressing, because it’s gonna happen” and “The more we talk about it, the easier it’s gonna get”
This is SO IMPORTANT ❤️
Abby Miller i honestly cried when he said that
not if you die and its your fault ,,,,=^..^=,,,, sorry but THATS important too
anotherkat4u sorry, what’s the point you’re making? Or are you just wanting to throw a bit of negativity in here? Regardless of WHY a loved one is dying, it will happen, and talking about it and accepting is is very important in order to help yourself grieve properly once they die. I’m not interested in placing blame on anyone, cheers!
I actually broke down at 6:07 when the little boy started crying. What a beautiful, optimistic man he is going to lose, and I hope his quality of life doesn't degrade too much for him not to be able to make amazing memories with his family right up until his passing.
Me too I’m crying like a big fat old wimp

This is such an amazing video for Cavalli to have once his Grandpop does pass... Even though the topic is sad, he will have his voice and all of those sweet things he said about his grandkids. Amazing work Hiho, thank you.

"I hope you live for 100 years!"
"That's a shot, we'll give those 100 years to you" That was surprisingly emotional to me
He only lived for 84 years.
When his grandchild asked if he would see him from heaven, I started crying so much. I had to put in a new layer of mascara, gosh.....
Can i say this is the saddest episode of Hiho 😢
But also one of the most powerful videos ❤💔😭😢
I never cried tears of sadness watching these
I cried on this episode, but also i cried when the kids talked with a 101 years old granny. That was emotional too.
The Alzheimer's one made me cry too
Omg, I didn't expect to cry but I lost it when his grandson started to cry...man...I really hate cancer..I pray that he lives to see many more years as much as possible.
Janet Slater I am so sorry to hear about the little one in your class, I will keep her in my prayers.
RandomIsMyLif3 :( I cannot believe that an knee surgery caused this for your uncle. I am very sadden to hear this.

@Provocateur wow. What about those who take aspirin?
please give me a valid reason for why and how someone could dislike this
Aidan Park i just don’t like tears and crying and someone being sad i just can’t do it :(
maybe those dislikes belong to the cancer and not the video... i don't know.
Aidan Park because nobody cares if hes alive
Maybe they meant that they dislike the reality of whats happening..since theres no sad face button

"1 year is a lot!" Aaaah childhood :(
vickersfan one year isn’t enough
vickersfan ahahaaa that was so cute 😭
I saw a reason for why it feels longer when you're younger.
When you're an adult you think about the future a lot more and what you're going to have to do/plan etc. whereas when you're a child, you care about the present and only the present.
Darkability I heard it's cuz when you're 8 (just assuming that boys age) one year is 1/8 of all your life and someone who is 88 one years is 1/88 witch if you see it visually it's a lot smaller then 1/8
vickersfan Ik I’m only 18 and it’s crazy weeks feel like days and days feel like seconds and it seems like it’s only going faster 😓
When you're about to do something and you get a thought that you shouldn't, that's gonna be me. My god, the love that grandfather has for his grand baby got me for good. I'll remember those words forever and pass them on ❤❤❤ god be with them.
Provocateur Huh? I don't understand why you're asking me that?
Mindymaria me too :'( that was so deep. I never had a grandpa but it felt like he was my own
+Mindymaria bc they're a troll and they're trying to "provoke" you as their name suggests, just ignore them or report the account. karma will get them
with that one sentence, i guarantee he just set his grandson up for a beautiful life

The fact that the doctors said he had a year but lived another 3 years just shows how strong this amazing man was ❤️
I’m so glad that even after his grandpa eventually passes, Cavalli will have this video to look back on.
yea i was thinking that too 💜
Very true
Unfortunately he passed away on October, 19th, 2021, he will be missed.❤🙏
Can we have an episode where the kids meet a hopsice worker or someone who works at a retirement home? They are some of the most underappreciated folk out there, who do a wonderful job, in such a depressing place, and the kids would do well to lean from/about them.
I work at a retirement home. Thank you for your comment! We don't really get appreciated that often and this made me happy :)
Yes!!! I used to work at a nursing home as an NA. It was one of the toughest jobs I've ever had but taught me so much!
He should record some music before he passes. It doesn’t matter if it’s great or horrible. Something from the heart, ya know? I would listen to it.
I’m Everywhere My Grandfather, was an amazing Jazz musician and we’ve got recordings of him playing almost every Jazz song from 1922-1988.
BlackAcidPvP amazing. Those are very rich memories
I'love to hear his music
Profile pic is dead meme
a very special episode, can't imagine how hard it was for his grandson to, you know, talk about something like that on camera, but very powerful, and shows just how strong he is. And as usual all the kids are just so sweet
When pop pop’s voice started cracking. I started crying.
This really hit home. My grandfather passed away from cancer when I was 15 and he was the father figure in my life who played a big part in raising me. 11 years later I still have have fond memories of him and think about him very often. I hope Preston knows that his kids and grandchildren will never forget about him.
That's me, exactly
Much love sheila

SilkyGames I guess you can blame Obama for those laws at the time, sorry for your loss
Glad Obama is out of the picture. Sorry for your loss. I bet your grandfathers were great people.
xxxtentacion sorry to hear that
so incredibly relatable man. since I was born into such an old family, I experienced the same thing. my dad is 75 right now. There is a chance he may not even see me graduate. Always took the simplest things for granted... I've rethinked my priorities and morals.
I can't stop crying.
that boy will refrain from making lots of bad decisions in his teen years because he will always have that second thought and think of his grandfather telling him not to
When he's about to beat the meat he will have second thoughts for sure.
I'm not so sure about that. The brain doesn't retain that kind of memory in that fashion. Chances are, when he is about to do something bad, he won't be thinking about his grandfather. But the notion is nice.
amen brother
@Zersix That goes for you too. When he's about t beat the meat... all he'll think about is beating the meat... this memory will be pushed aside subconsciously.
@@KingSchnarf he definately wont beat his meat of he thinks of his grandpa
