Just bought one of these. Exactly like this one! I absolutely love it! I was looking at a RAV4 and Toyota treated us like we were wasting their time. Went into KIA and couldn’t have asked for a better salesman. Wasn’t even expecting to go to KIA but I drove by and saw the Seltos. Test drove a white one and ended up leaving with the gold one in the showroom. My girlfriend and I are in love with our new Seltos. 0-60mph in around 6 sec! Love the power and AWD handling. I honestly can’t say enough about this car!! KIA is definitely stepping up their game!! I thought I was gonna miss my Mini Cooper S, I was wrong! Sold it!
@@Tarasaurus13 Absolutely! We got the SX T-GDI. In the launch color, same as in this video. Has all the power we’ll ever need and the perfect amount of space to carry all our instruments. We had a Mini before so this was so much better.

I am finally watching a video about a car and hearing nothing but great things and seeing things I know I would love in a car. I have a 2005 Honda Civic rn and I can’t wait to get something like this.
You’re now my go to guy for automobile reviews. I look for a guy who compares the design of a vehicle and cover the changes in the new design to the old one. You do a good job explaining the costs of comparable vehicles and which one may be a better option.
Watched three reviews in the past 12 hours(Raiti's Rides, Redline Reviews, Kelley Blue Book). All three have given it great reviews. Looks like Kia hit it out of the park with this one. Definitely more attractive than anything else in the segment. Seems surprisingly spacious as well.
Wife and I have been sold on Kia since buying a 2012 Turbo AWD Sportage. We followed up with a 2013 Rio EX and later a 2016 AWD Turbo Sportage. These vehicles are real quality in motion. The only thing that I've had to change on the Rio is a license light bulb. The check engine light came on a couple weeks ago. I bought a new fuel cap and everything is good. (That's a note: when the 'check engine light' comes on, check your fuel cap first.) Our next and third vehicle will be this Seltos! I'm excited about it. The Rio will be used as a spare to extend its life even more.
Wow, just wow. Im a car guy and i freaking love this thing. Ive been hating on Korean brands for so long but they are coming strong. I mean I want one right now. Looks a little like a Volvo XC40 to me. All that tech and features for under 30k. Most cars with that are around 40 to 45k. Thats impresive. And the AWD its a done deal for me living in NH.
This car is amazing. Best value per dollar and it's gorgeous. The only one working harder than Kia is you man. Awesome review, you keep grinding like a champ.
This is the review I've been waiting for. Definitely going to be test driving one as soon as an SX trim is available at one of my local dealers. I was almost all in on the Kona until I saw you cover the Seltos at the LA auto show. Now that I've seen a full review, the design language, the higher ground clearance, the increase in interior volume, the way it handles and drives... I'm excited for this vehicle. Thanks for the great review!
I know this is an older review but I’m considering buying this vehicle and Raitis rides is the first place I go. Excellent review though I would have liked to hear a bit more about the transmission. One thing I’d like to add. Making Lori a part of the review is a really nice addition. My favorite home electronics you tube channel has a husband and wife review team. He’s a little more tech savvy but she brings a refreshing direct opinion not clouded by numbers and specs. He reviews the equipment first and then she gives her input, uninterrupted, at the end. You two have such great chemistry that it could easily work for your channel too. Keep up the great work. Double stuffs for you.
I hear the IVT transmission in the lower trim levels is really good. Much better than current CVT’s from the Japanese manufacturers. I have never driven a dual clutch transmission but the turbo engine paired with the DCT is probably the way to go in the Seltos. 177 HP vs. 146HP seems like a no brainer. Thoughts anyone? Looking forward to this review! No zonks!! 😂
Hawkins Hill I tried both and the turbo was disappointing. Not much better than the regular engine/trans surprisingly. Same route same day back to back trial. If I planned on keeping it I would stay with the lower hp combo for reliability. Everybody is having trouble with these turbo engines. Honda/ Toyota/Ford. Mazda went better with a regular engine and a real 6speed trans(no cvt).
@@boatdesigner12 I tried them both and preferred the turbo. 2.6 seconds difference in 0-60 times (in the Kona) is much different in my book. If you can't tell the difference, you're probably not someone I'd take automotive advice from because 2.6 seconds is quite noticeable in highway merging/passing power. Also, any time anybody says "everbody" has a problem, they mean they can not substantiate a claim of belief so they attribute it to everyone.

Love the trunk design. You can put so much stuff like hiking boots under the floor of the trunk keeping the main area neat and tidy for your suitcases. I waited for this car in this color. So nearly got the Hyundai Kona in the electric orange while waiting. When I saw this in the yellow/ black I just knew I had to have it. It is absolutely gorgeous.
This models of Kia: Seltos for young single professionals and Sorento for families are the best choices in this generation of cars in a very practical price in good design and quality.

Hey there Raiti's Rides. This is the first time coming across ur reviews, it was very charismatic and the attention to detail and possible buyers' interests are stated perfectly. The only suggestion I'll share with u is that sometimes I feel a little cramped when the camera tries to squeeze on the areas that you are talking about. Great review Joe. Surprised that all that Tech comes in at under 30K. Moving to the Philippines sometime later this year, and this just may be the one to buy. Thanks for sharing and look forward to the next ride, cheers...
Hi, I know the Seltos has cross traffic alert but does it have backup warning like if you are backing out of your driveway and there is a bicycle parked behind you, will it alert you ?
Andrew Scarella The ‘single guy’ comment only meant that I’m not in the market for a big family hauler because I don’t have a family to haul around. I’m definitely looking to get out of my Mazda3 hatch though, and into an SUV of some sort. The Seltos could be a good fit for me but I’ll have to see it in person first.
joya08 Baez Not yet, there are so many new things coming our way soon I decided to wait for a bit. Really interested in the updated Nissan Rogue, and the new Ford Bronco and Buick Encore GX.
I like the style designs of the new kias and I want to buy one but I’m not too sold on the long term reliability. My 2003 Sorento gave me a lot of problems past 130k miles.
Luis Alas They have come a long way since then. They actually test drive every vehicle that comes off the line. Every vehicle. They have made leaps and bounds in reliability. And they have a 10 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty.
I must say I love your reviews!!! Your reviews helped me decide between the Compass and the Seltos, but when I got to the dealership I left with a 2020 Sportage. Keep 'em coming!!! Btw I love knowing how many twinkies I can fit in those spaces lol
I'm in Canadastan and they sell the Telluride here, I saw one yesterday in Timmins Ontario Canadastan, so it's NOT ONLY being sold in your Great country!!!
I love what Kia is doing their their SUV's and with the new Cadenza debuting just a couple days ago, Kia is elevating their brand to a whole new level. However, I feel that if Kia is going to be successful in this "premium" market, I think that new logo would be beneficial. In my opinion, I feel that the logo takes away from the overall aesthetic of the vehicle but each their own.
I checked the Seltos out in Austin today. Nice car and great value for the features you get. I am partially disabled so the ground clearance is fantastic. Shame though no sunroof with the 2 tone colors. Lori ads a nice touch to the review. You do a great job in all your reviews Zonkman and Lori's opinion is icing on the cake or Twinkies or Ding Dongs etc.
Excellent video. Nice vehicle. The wife is going to purchase a subcompact AWD SUV in the fall. We’ve narrowed it down to the Hyundai Kona or the Mazda CX3. Still it was interesting to see your take on the KIA Seltos. Thanks Joe!!
Padid AZG. It’s not very loud, plus engine sounds waaaay better that a CR-V. No CVT transmission!! Seltos has a 7-speed DCT transmission that helps save gas.
Does this vehicle have that annoying start / stop feature that chevy has? I know you can turn it off but have to turn it off every time you start it. Wasted move and wont buy a car with that feature. Other then that love the review and car. Thanks.
Joe, you didn't really comment on the power, acceleration, or how well the transmission performed. I'm not sure a DCT in an SUV is a good combo, even though most SUVs wouldn't be spending much time doing off-road crawling.
What about 360 Degree camera and Headup Display feature and smart air purifier ? This features are available in Indian model trims and actually very useful

I totally agree with you!
I'm a single guy looking to upgrade to an SUV, think this one might be perfect for me. Thanks for the review!
You'll get double-takes from the ladies, fo sho! :)
What qualities are you looking for in a woman?
Andrew Scarella The ‘single guy’ comment only meant that I’m not in the market for a big family hauler because I don’t have a family to haul around. I’m definitely looking to get out of my Mazda3 hatch though, and into an SUV of some sort. The Seltos could be a good fit for me but I’ll have to see it in person first.
Shawn B did you get to see this car?
joya08 Baez Not yet, there are so many new things coming our way soon I decided to wait for a bit. Really interested in the updated Nissan Rogue, and the new Ford Bronco and Buick Encore GX.
I love watching every new vehicle you bring .Please we need the all new Rhino GX review
I love the Telluride look and this Seltos. The Sportage however is not very eye appealing.
When does it drop here in the US?
They are already hitting Dealerships now.
Love that you review a variety of affordable vehicles
Thanks for saying that!
I must say I love your reviews!!! Your reviews helped me decide between the Compass and the Seltos, but when I got to the dealership I left with a 2020 Sportage. Keep 'em coming!!! Btw I love knowing how many twinkies I can fit in those spaces lol
Is this color combo available in a lessor model?
I'm in Canadastan and they sell the Telluride here, I saw one yesterday in Timmins Ontario Canadastan, so it's NOT ONLY being sold in your Great country!!!
Kia Seltos or Mazda CX30? Which do you like better?
Good work with the camera, Laurie. And nicely done, Mr. Raiti.
Does it sit higher than the new Chevy trailblazer
You forgot to test the smart cruise control and drive assist. It is the best feature that this vehicle has.
Thanks Joe!!
louis ayala she may want to give this a look as well, it’s very impressive 👍🏽
What I noticed though, inside becomes very noisy due to its engine roar especially when you accelerate.
Padid AZG. It’s not very loud, plus engine sounds waaaay better that a CR-V. No CVT transmission!! Seltos has a 7-speed DCT transmission that helps save gas.
I will be looking at the SX model this year. Upgrading from a Ford Focus. I am also 6'7'' and I heard I would be able to fit in it!
You will!
Kia makes cars for tall people nowadays. I'm 6'4" and have way more than enough room in my Soul to fit comfortably. A lot easier than in my Golf GTI
If I get a new car, I too would be trading in my 2012 Ford Focus SEL Hatchback. I am going to miss that control panel...I loved it
Awesome review and beautiful production quality
Benny B thank you!!
How does the CVT transmission hold up? I've heard nothing but bad things
Just depends. Some brands are better than other!
I wish I've could of afforded this trim, but I got the LX version, still looks amazing and can't wait to get it on monday
Does this vehicle have that annoying start / stop feature that chevy has?
I know you can turn it off but have to turn it off every time you start it.
Wasted move and wont buy a car with that feature. Other then that love the review and car.
Thanks.
Yes sir does Mark.
@@RaitisRides thank you for the reply
to bad I really liked it....
@@johnwickpick8621 You can turn it off if you want.
@@catinhotlanta thanks.....
You nailed it man, thanks for the review
Nice review Raiti. Saw one of these at the Twin Cities Auto Show and we're going to review one soon as well. Keep up the good work!
Thanks my friend!
This is what I want next!! I've been driving a 2012 Jaguar XF since 2013 & I'm ready for a new vehice. Can't wait to get thos truck!!
Do you mean Telluride is available in North America? Because I can get it at my local Telluride at my local kia dealer here in Canada.
