Rick Baker did the Great Remarkable job on the Gremlin and Mogwai puppet effects! The "Gremlins 2: The New Batch" movie in my opinion is the best Gremlins film and my favorite Gremlins movie ever. I love the way Rick Baker give the gremlins and mogwais a better realistic character in the second gremlins film; and Baker made the gremlins' and mogwais' ears even 7X bigger and longer. I LOVE "GREMLINS 2: THE NEW BATCH!"
It's unfortunate that no one in the production had the foresight to actually "save" or record lots of the process used in bringing the "gremlins" to life. Chis Walas did the 1st movie and Rick Baker did the 2nd one and yet there is very little on the whole process caught on film (for DVD extras). .
I also hope 'Gremlins 2' fans will sooner or later make life size Mogwais and Gremlins movie dolls, props, and movie doll puppet movements and make them how the way Rick Baker did in behind the scenes of "Gremlins 2: The New Batch". :) :D
often times recording the process is a part of the creative process, to see what works and what doesn't, I garuntee they have the footage, getting a hold of it, or finding it after twenty years is usually another story, being a child's play fan I know of this all too well.
Really hope they'll make five or six Joe Dante's (1990) horror comedy film "GREMLINS 2: THE NEW BATCH" on new Nintendo Wii games, XBOX games, and PLAYSTATION 4 games!
yeah those were supposed to be used in the movie for run around scenes, but they opted not to, they use the same techniques for quick shots of that nature for the child's play movies then too
"technology evolving" and then stopped to go with pure cgi instead, hopefully if they make a new gremlins then we can see what 2020's era of practical effects can do to bring them to life
