Its unfortunate they don't mention how hush has manipulated a vast number of super villains (including Riddler, Joker, and Killer Croc) into working for him. Its actually kind of scary.

Riddler was the one who manipulated everyone, he was the one to discovery Batman's identity, gave that information to Tommy and controlled the other villains.

I always liked Hush. He was so mysterious and ominous. An unsettling super-villain really with all bis face swapping. Its really terrifying how he goes to such lengths to change his identity.

j marine I wouldn't say he's a sociopath, I'd say he is a psychopath and it's due to his conditions, not a natural, given bruce's parents and bruce given tommy's, I truthfully feel they'd have switched roles.

HUSH is a very interesting character, almost as interesting as batman. I don't know why he's not popular. Maybe it's because he seems to be a "for adult" only character. They should make a movie about him. I never knew there was a batman nemesis who was more intriguing than all the batman foes combined.
I think it's because his origins sucks. I mean, the concept is good, but the motives... "Your father save my mother, so I will dedicated every minute of my life to destroy you" ? Nah, not credible a second. After, his role as the surgeon of Gotham villain and his mommy issues give a real potential.
I think part of it is how new he is, and how little he is used. He's also probably pretty hard to write a ton of stories for him.

Just a slight error here. I actually just finished reading this series. You mentioned that Elliot pretended to be Harvey Dent when he freed the Joker. Actually that really was Harvey Dent. He was working for Hush because Hush gave him plastic surgery to fix his face. What Hush hadn't planned was that fixing Harvey's face brought him back to sanity and he quickly began his own scheme to ultimately HELP Batman. This is why he seems like a badguy at first but saved Batman from Hush at the end. Thanks for listening (:
Also it was Harvey who shot the fake Elliot at the Opera. That's why he had the coin. Also it was Clay Face at the time impersonating Elliot to fake his own death.
Yep, it also wasn't Hush as Jason Todd (or Clayface the whole time) as Under the Hood retconned in that it was Jason for the first half of the fight and he switched with Clayface inside the church so he could get away.

Hush could be considered another dark mirror to Bruce Wayne: Both are members of Gotham's prominent families(Bruce is a Wayne, Tommy is an Elliot) and were childhood friends, along with being famous names by themselves(Bruce is a CEO, Tommy is a surgeon) But where Bruce had attentive and loving parents to instill on him a sense of responsibility, along with Alfred, Hush had uninvolved and abusive parents, to the point that he tried to murder them, only his mother Marla survived, blaming Bruce. Hush is what Bruce could have become if he didn't have Alfred at his side.
hush also stole catwoman's hart at one point. literally! as in he surgically removed her hart! bat man ended up saving her. ...that's f*ck*d up though he kept it in a mechanical tank that preserved it!

This analysis is incorrect. Hush did not impersonate Harvey Dent, Dent was in fact HIMSELF, and just operated on BY Hush. Similarly, Hush did not impersonate Jason Todd, that was Clayface all along.

+The Pickles There's no such thing as an original character these days, but look at it in this light. Back in Shakespeare's days, there was no concept of idea thief or copyright. He was able to take good pieces of stories and put them together in perfect stories. That's what I'm waiting for with comic books, even if some of the characters end up feeling similar to ones I've known before.
Major inaccuracies in the Hush storyline described here. IT WAS HARVEY DENT THAT GOT THE JOKER RELEASED. And it WAS Jason Todd that threatened Tim Drake's life before ducking and allowing Clayface to take over. Elliot's face-swapping only happened and ended with Bruce Wayne's likeness.
Hush's origin was so freakin' obvious but was implemented so well that it's one of my favorites.

I'd say they gave you a plot twist, and besides no one says the movie version has to be a exact page for page, panel for panel retelling of the comic book.
I agree. Everybody is lost in making something different when they adapt something to a movie form. But this was such a departure that it kills the character Hush. Riddler is still a C list villain and will always be.

I really am a GREAT Batman fan and so i love Hush. I really enjoyed the Hush Series. It´s so cool because almost every remarkable character from Batman is in it. Hush himself is pretty interesting, too - like every Batman villain.

Vinnie Bojja well simply put he was a childhood friend of Bruce Wayne who was obviously mentally unstable and tried to kill both his parents. When Bruce's father saved his mother he began to exact revenge on the wayne family
That's okay. The original Hush story was a intentionaly confusing to make it seem like it was a clever mystery.
Jack Daniels His father brutally abused him and his mother let it happen, he wasn't born mentally unstable, and quite frankly the father deserved it and he deserved to be free from his father's control/abuse. If he had been given Bruce's parents and bruce his, they would have ended up with reversed roles.
Great vid, Hush is definitely one of the best additions to the Batman Rouges gallery in years, I really had hoped they would have expanded on his appearance in Arkham City as I nearly lost my shit when he showed up, but seeing as the next game is a prequel it doesnt look like we're gonna see that story concluded which is a real shame.

It was an annoying side quest. You had to find random bodies scattered throughout the city.

I still need to read Return of Hush, but Heart of Hush and his taking over Bruce Wayne's identity in Gotham City Sirens and Streets of Gotham are really good stories.

Travis Gunn It was entirely to do with his dad being abusive and and mother not taking care of him. The inheritance lust was a result of that, but it stems from the fact that he hated his parents.
Why riddler is the hush
They changed some major plots from the comics.
IMO DC is just doing it because they wanted a different take. But it doesn't mean better. What a disappointment!

Tommy wanted his parents to die because he wanted to inherit their fortune. When Bruce's parents died, he was able to inherit the Wayne family fortune, making Tommy jealous and hating Bruce Wayne.

Yeah but superman can over power krypotite it doenst get rid of his powers it makes him weak so supes can over power the krypotite easily and then it would be no contest
There were times that Batman was able to fight him with the Krytonite though, or else superman would have killed him. He used it in the Hush comic when poison ivy had Superman under her control. But yeah most of the time superman is by far stronger, since Batman is just human and Superman is well alien.
