Mead Motorsports FTW!!!!!
Sounded like Jesse from fast and the furious listing the parts 🤠👍🏻😂 this truck is going to be awesome
Would a 224/224r cam be good for a 2013 Tahoe I’m new to the engine stuff I’m trying to find the best cam for the 5.3 that’s gonna chop hard 😂
Fire me up all the way from New Zealand 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I wish Canadians had a chance to win this
When does giveaway end?
My stock 200k mile 5.3 with just a BTR cam and exhaust makes more than that and runs mid/low 14s N/A. 335WHP with a blower?? What are yall doing??
Your cammed cams pick up a lot on LS motors this truck is fully stock with only a blower with no intercooler of course a good N/A setup will make more and be faster when this truck is setup all wrong for speed
Idk that’s about right for a completely stock 4.8 with that much timing no intercooler and they are barely spinning the blower and they definitely ain’t turning no rpm! I’ve only took my old 4.8 combo to the dyno once sbe no ring gap TBSS intake bosch 210’s on methanol healthy LJMS cam and pac springs and old class legal x275 precision turbo stock case th400 ptc converter made 870whp and spun it to 7400rpm all the time and that motor went a season and a winter in my car and another race season in a buddy’s car before it left the chat… best 300 bucks I spent on a motor But this was like 2018 when you could actually build something without being Elon musk
Torqstorm isn’t a high hp blower, it’s not intercooled and I’m sure it’s low boost.
The 4l80e eats hp vs. the 4l60e. Same setup, just transmission change. You can expect 40hp loss. Stronger transmission but takes more to spin it. 1st gear is also slower 4l80 vs 4l60
So high 15 second rip with the stock 53 I’m guessing with the torque storm supercharger don’t impress me for shit of course when you spend $50,000 on it I’m sure it will and that’s real nice for whoever wins it but I’m curious because that just don’t seem so good for a normal person that can’t afford to blow 30 grand to make their truck run it seems like you could throw a single turbo on that 53 and probably run a good 12 second quarter mile a hell of a lot cheaper but I’m just guessing what The hell do I know
The dyno run was Stock 4.8L, 4L60, and no intercooler just for testing purpose.
It’s now getting a new built 408ci LS and 4L80 transmission, convertor, supercharged with an intercooler, fuel system, lowered.
I think you’re comparing apples to oranges. The money spent on doing a turbo, you can get this truck to run the same time. Off the shelf Turbo kit will be 3-4K for this truck, which won’t include cam kit, injectors, fuel pump, oiling. Installation time is much longer as well for a turbo set up.
TorqueStorm kit is $3200 according to their website. If they did a intercooler, cam kit and maybe a drop in fuel pump (probably an additional $2000), truck could easily make 500whp which would put it roughly in the low 12’s, 1/4 mile.
Holy run on sentence.
What brand and model wheels are these
This guy must be the owners son or something. Wanted to be in front of the camera to hopefully get laid. Only reason I gave these videos was because of the single cab Silverado build but after seeing this guy represent Texas-speed., I wouldn’t buy a t-shirt from them
What? Lol
Reading this gave me cancer
This is a sad representation for a torqstorm, and esp from texaspseed or whoever this guy is. I have the identical setup, 4.8, elgin 1840 cam,dw 415 pump, dw 80lb inhectors, long tubes, 430s, intercooled, cant even believe they did it without one, 3200 convertor, built 4l60, mine laid down 500 on 13lbs, at 16 degrees..... so this video is a very poor reference. Jmo
To clarify, it’s a bone stock 4.8L top to bottom, on only 7 Degrees of timing.
It would be pointless to build the 4.8L, as we’re swapping a Built 408ci LS as a part of the build series for this sweepstakes truck to show the progression along the way.
@@TexasSpeedPerformance guy lists a whole laundry list of mods on his 4.8 trying to compare to a stock 4.8 😂. If this truck wasn’t pulling timing and hit the same 14-15* of timing it would make over 400 for sure but they said it has no intercooler so the numbers make sense. Keep it up Texas Speed! Excited to see the new motor going in.
Proof positive of the importance of air intake temps! Everyone bitching about what it’s making, when it’s for data collection/comparison. Would like to see an intercooler on this setup before it gets swapped, just to shut up the baby criers…🤔🤔🤔😂🤘🏻
No crier here, I'm just stating a 4.8 and torqstorm is way more capable than 300 and some change is all I'm saying.
Some people aren't familiar with how everything works, and may have a goal in mind, and see this, and say, ok so I can't make over 300 and change with my 4.8 and a torqstorm.
People that knows about tuning and chargers, yes they know exactly what's going on here, but someone fishing for knowledge to build something, could possibly be lead down the wrong path, not intentionally, but easily.
I was just surprised that texas speed would even install this charger with no intercooler, and I wasn't trying to compare my (laundry list ) of things to a stock 4.8, mearly saying, a 4.8 with supporting mods was capable of more than 300ish hp.
@@Slik-rik87 not you, lots of people don’t understand the relationship between air temps and allowable/safe timing and it shows
