- One of the biggest grids of Ferrari V12s ever to race took to the Goodwood motor Circuit for the Lavant Cup at the 2023 Revival. The most incredible array of racing machines you may ever see included Ferrari 250 GTO, 250 LM, 250 Lusso and even the extremely rare 330 GTO.
Was this the best-looking, and sounding, race you've ever seen?

Ever seen a grid like this?
unbelievable
You guys need to get onto gran turismo & get a proper goodwood revival going on the platform.
What the heck no! Incredible! Just can’t believe they actually go at it! They ain’t messing around with these!
The circuit is on GT7 🤔@@maybenot6075
Yes EVERY year at Goodwood 😀
Brilliant to see these £million cars being driven properly not sat in garages
SOOOO much money on this track !
Nothing intrinsic in their stratospheric prices
Absolutely! 👌👌👌
And to think that they’ve all got Gaaated shifftteerrsss aaahhhhhh!
16:04 was simply ace driving. To catch a 360 spin in an oily ball of fire at that speed, make a split second dash to the run-off, unbuckle, asses the trouble area and direct fire marshals all within 30 seconds is just champion performance.
The owner is an absolute unit as well...
Apparently, the first thing he asked is if Karun is okay (he's okay, but the soles of his shoes melted in the fire!) , the owner later said that what they'll do is, check what caused the failure, repair the car, and return next year!!!
You are absolutely right, he's one heck of a driver!!!
Seeing these beauties raced wheel-to-wheel in proper anger, like they were born to, just feels like being wrapped up in a big, warm, snuggly blanket. Thanks so much to every one who has a hand in putting on this spectacular, unique event. 🙏 ❤
16:04 Seeing an race car that's literally worth 40 hospitals burst into flame and spin out just blows my mind on so many different levels.
Don't worry it's a replica
@@bugattiincroyableyep and not a very accurate one
40 hospitals in Africa maybe
@@psk5746 what makes you say that, find me 2 250gto that are the same. theyre all differnt and a lot of them look a bit wonky, even in period photos, theyr for racing not a beauty Pageant.
Feels just like a real race back in 60’s when they where just race cars. Now that we are talking millions worth of cars it’s just off the charts cool. My face was covered a couple times I must say, couldn’t watch. Thanks for this you guys Rock!
It's nice to see these guys go all out, not afraid of trading some very expensive paint. Thank you Goodwood!
Would be nice to see all the races in full, edited for delays. I watched all the live stream over three days, absolutely fantastic. Need to spread the word.
As a diehard Ferrari fan, this video is HEAVEN!
Apart from when the 250 GTO retired in a rather, let's say, _spectacular_ fashion... I mean, that's not the kind of "spectacular" that we wanted, sadly...
@@jcgabriel1569 I wrote this comment before I saw that bit. xD Yeah, that was hard to watch...
@@AdamantJHS a representative of the owner said in an article that they will repair the damage, to be able to return to race next year!!!
The owner had entered some incredible cars. One car that DNS in this race is the second 250 LM driven by Gary Pearson, that is owned by the same owner of the GTO. He also owned the incredible Jaguar E Type Lightweight Low Drag "Lindner Nocker Coupe" that Pearson and Chandhok raced at the RAC TT Celebration race!
That LM is absolutely rapid and he was driving that thing to its limits it seems. Absolutely stunning.
Must have been about 40 years ago that I fell in love with the 250 SWB. There were a few on the grid at Zandvoort and two were battling it out for the lead. One driven by Harald Schönleber and the other one by Alexander van der Lof, who parked right in front of me in the pit area. Somehow that image stuck with me for life. 40 years on, he's still doing it. I wonder if that's the same car he raced in the early 80s.
That silver 20+ million dollar car catching on fire was insane. At 16:34
More like 60m +
@@jimmyschneider8131 Its only a few individual cars that sells that high, if they have motorsports history. THey can go for as ''low'' as 1 million. So probably closer to 20 than 60
Oh true, I still think any 250 GTO would be a least 30-40m
Well it might not be worth quite as much. The 250 GTO is a replica, still not cheap, but not as expensive either. The owner apparently has a real 250 GTO as well, just like this one, but obviously he's not racing that one, for reasons we could see here.
If he has a real one he should have raced that like the other GTO owners.
He also should get this replica done again so at least the windscreen angle is correct
We were there! This is a great event and this was a terrific race. Thanks so much!
I shed a tear for the breadvan last year at the Le Mans classic, great to see her back in shape!
This might be one of the most expensive motor races in terms of the value of the vehicles involved. Wonder what the total value of grid is 🤔
Formula 1 also exists, hope this helps lol
@@streetfighter4006these decimate f1 in terms of vehicle value! Would take atleast half the f1 grid to equal the value of the breadvan
Yeah, the breadvan alone is valued above $30M. It was crashed hard just a year ago, so surprised to see it back in action so soon.
I would think each F1 car would be something like a 30 million investment when you take seasonal costs in to account.
But yes a very expensive grid for sure. Pity the silver GTO is a replica
Someone do the maths !
To think the winner is a 1 of 30 original, just wow.
Nicely held KC...!
These cars are probably so valuable that finding a buyer would be difficult, might as well race them and enjoy them.
Is that a Florida license plate on the LM?
Antique.
Best race ever…. A race with only vintage Ferraris… it seems like a dream.
Well done Karun, mate you saved that GTO !!! Love that LM too !
16:30 nothing than admiration to have such a big pair of balls to drive this cars like that
*What a magnificent sight, proper cars racing*
Dream machines!!
Wonderful stuff. Takes me back. Thanks.
Art in motion! Fantastic 👍
Thank you very much for sharing.
Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱, T.
What a magnificent sight, proper cars racing. As a diehard Ferrari fan, this video is HEAVEN!.
fantastic cars being raced like they should be......great stuff....and hot stuff for Chandhook...haha...well done.....last thing you want to do is burn down a 250 GTO.......wow.....
The sight and sounds are absolutely amazing, Id have these old legends do battle on the track over modern day F1 any day of the week, hands down. I can’t believe these priceless boyhood favourites are being driven with the same level of ferocity that made them famous during the golden age. Its marvellous entertainment, but how does the insurance work here? I’m super curious.
Chandhok’s GTO is a stunning race car here, Hall’s LM too as is Pirro’s SWB.
Pretty sure the silver GTO is a replica as doesn't look anything like the others.
They are side by side in the garages and differences very obvious
Glad to see the breadvan still thriving
18:40. I had to rewind, the Antique Florida license plate on the 250LM. Cool.
That's because it was owned by Miles Collier, parts of the Collier collection, the Revs Institute...
awesome sight to see these priceless legendary cars as they were meant to be racing all out!
Goodwood la excelencia en su maxima expresion
Ferrari GT cars are just fantastic! The looks, the sound, the speed! Phenomenal!
Fantastic video.
The end was like NASCAR bunching up the field for a sprint to the finish.
This is the most beautiful race in the world.
$1 billion dollars worth of Ferrari’s on the edge of being bent paper weights
And that bread is still fresh and warm.
Wonderful to see them race, they make such incredible noise ... pity about Chandhok, he was going well.
That's majestic
Fantastic
Amazing Race. still can not believe the are Racing the Originals. Got to Respect the Owners for that
OMG 😳
Brave men.... respect! 👏
This is literally like a billion dollars
Caroon Chandok?
What a great save !!!
That GTO looked hot!
La mejor carrera del año
Every year I watch this on the edge of my seat, considering how much these cars are worth nobody's out for a Sunday drive 😂😂, great save from Rob Hall, and glad to see the breadvan back after it was crashed at the Le Mans Classic a couple of years ago
The Breadvan raced at Le Mans Classic this year, though it had problems throughout the weekend and didn't figure in the results. Shame, because it's the third fastest car in its grid.
this red Ferrari Breadvan is a really cool car.
what a sound epic
@16:05
Oh Yes! The Pane De Casa Breadvan!
All these prancing horses getting a chance to run flat out and dice hard for a win. So much to love here.
Errrr ......I remember first seeing the 'BreadVan' in Motorsport magazine
I'm not even sure if it was a racecar at that point..........
The best ❤
If we could get a few more awkward interruptions for ad breaks in there, that would be super! 😐
It'd be great if we could hear the cars over your announcing.
I would love to know the price tag on each of the cars being raced here.
that grid has to be easily worth 9 figures if not 10, it’s such a joy that they’re getting the action they deserve
@@frostyl4269 Wow you have no clue about numbers if you think it would go over a billion. Each car is worth about 1-15 million(1-2 for the 250 gto and 15 for the 250lm) and theres 16 of them, most the cheaper 250gto, since you're obviously terrible at math i took the time to do it for you; its 80 million if you average at 5 million per car
@@tosehoed123are talking about a UK billion or US billion
wish I could hear the cars over those guys.
They sound like race cars, proper race cars.
Heck of a grid. I wonder how many of the GTOs, if any, are actually real ones...
All of them
brother they're all real....
@@northsideee the silver one that burst in flames is a replica. The owner has the same real car as well though.
@@sauldulasilver one is a poor replica
You'd think they could muster up another 3 or 4 roll offs around the course for mishaps. ANd... just STOP THE CLOCK after it's obvious wreckage removal is going to eat away 1/3 or more of race time.
Goodwood has a curfew for racing, so we cannot extend all the races indefinitely. The officials do their best to add time back in where they can, but the event has to stick to a legal time limit.
Insurance void eh?
Those recovery people want to look up Towtrucker’s blog. He recovers vehicles in Atlanta Georgia U.S.A., some of them modern supercars. He would have had that Ferarri out of there in less than half the time those boys took.
The Ferrari's differential seized during the incident meaning the rear axle would not move. Therefore it was a delicate operation to move it onto a recovery truck without doing more damage. Not just simply putting a car on a truck.
I agree. Goodwood do take a very long time recovering vehicles
Should we really be surprised to see saloon cars being overtaken by race-specific models such as the breadvan and 250LM ?
GTO was a race car too, but you have a point.
But it's the quality of the driver and the instructions from the owners that matter most
The Breadvan is a modified 250 gt swb, it was built after Enzo refused to sell the team a 250 gto, so the privateer team bought a second hand 250 gt swb and modified it, i love how they built a better ferrari than ferrari themselves.
Ferrari were very bitter about it tried to take legal action, notice how there's no period photos of the Breadvan saying ferrari on it or having the ferrari emblem on it.
😊😊😊😊😊
N07 GT SWB wasn't that Stirling Moss car?
No, that's an ex-Ecurie Francorchamps car, it just so happened that it had been given no.7
0:41 S🅱️inalla 🗿🗿
Yes, I freaked out!
The 250 LM is said to be not as friendly to drive as the GTO... even Rob Hall don't know why he spun there!
Ha! - Liked.
It's takes waaayý too long to get the car off the grass , there should be a tow truck close by and there as soon as the safety car has them slowed - they waste so much time with this inefficiency
Where is just stop oil? 😂
Probably flying in a Gulfstream to a protest somewhere else.
If I ever think I need viagra I'll just watch this video instead.
Billion dollar race?
Not too far off 🤑
Mucha plata para dañarlos contra la pared
take the picasso to the mosh pit.
Nice to see these Ferrari replicas racing
how cynical but yes some of them will no doubt be a lot more powerful than they were in period and probably not much original metal in them but who cares, it's great to see and hats off to the owners for entering them
@benzinapaul7416 at the end of the day they are race cars, they were never built to retain their original parts and sit in a garage they were built to have regular parts replacement and do this exact activity
What do you care mate?
@@keegang2024 i know thats the point I was making
The 250LM that won is by all accounts a genuine car, although I doubt they are running the original engine. The 250GTO that had the fire is definitely a replica. The owner does have the original car but that is LHD the replica is RHD.
Drive it maybe regularly on the road to keep it in shape is (maybe) ok, but racing with above 50 million museum cars is plain scandalous and shouldn't be allowed, those must get sort of monument / cultural heritage status to preserve them for future generations to see. But yeah those rich owners with colossal EGO's. IF YOU HAVE TO RACE THEM DO THAT WITH REPLICAS.
Send Chandhok back to India. He has never finished a GP nor a full season.
