Those spitfires are based in the uk and are 70 years old. I doubt they flew those planes to Belgium. I suspect the plane bit was shot in the uk and then they asked the Germans to pretend the planes were there and edit it together.

I haven't watched top gear in years, but OMG... Three Spitfires. This was one of my favourite things they ever did. I mean, how cool is that. The budget for this show must have been eye watering. The organisation and clout required to get probably the only three, dual seat Spitfires in the UK, together at once, get agreement from the owners to fly across them across the Chanel... pretty amazing.
It makes me feel embarrassed to be British. We’re obsessed with a war that ended 75 years ago where we played second fiddle to the Russians and Americans

I'm not British, (From the US) but that is one of the BEST introductions on TopGear that has been done!!! Seeing three Spitfires swooping down with the music in the background is GREAT!!! We have the American TopGear which cannot hold anything to the original BBC editon.
