Those Suntour seat posts are a godsend on a hard tail bike. Sometimes I think finding the right seat is a life long endeavour. I had the opportunity to ride one of my older brother’s ( an old Maico 450 motocross racer) high end E Mountian bikes this summer. What a blast!! So different from my fat tired e-bikes. 50 lbs with a carbon fibre frame, 38mm dual crown front forks with 160mm travel, 150 mm travel on the rear suspension, 29.5 x 2.5 in. tires, 233 mm front and rear rotors with 4 piston callipers, dropper seat post, 10 speed, Bosch mid-drive, Michelin tubeless tires, no lights, no fenders, no kick stand, no throttle, 3 power levels, no pedal assist levels the torque sensor takes care of that, legal to ride in our National Parks. If it wasn’t for the price I would buy one tomorrow. Lord it was fun to ride. Being an old motocrosser yourself I’m sure you would appreciate riding a bike like this. Take care and happy trails. Sure a lot of construction going on around your area.
@@bobk18 thanks for watching Bob. You are right about the high-end mountain bikes. Once you ride them, you realize these other bikes are not even in the same game let alone the same ballpark.
@@RitchieCaron thanks for watching Richie. I just got a new one in that is very comparable but a bit cheaper. I will be doing a shoot out between the two in the next couple of weeks. As far as suspension, I got a bit spoiled when I tried out a couple of very high-end mountain bikes. Of course they were a bit pricey too. Lol.
I love mine, I have probably have over 20k on mine and it is hard for me to ride without it anymore. A quick tip, buy one seat post, then buy a sleeve to fit all your bikes. Then switching is easy and you only have to buy one : )
@@garywillhoit I really don’t see a huge advantage to this style. It is a bit nicer. I also just received a new one that I will be doing a comparison with the sun tour. Appears to be pretty comparable but this other one is cheaper. Will be interesting when I do back-to-back rides with them. Thanks much for watching.
i have been wanting to try this thing for a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time, the thing is, the price and the possible damages do take me back way too much, its too expensive for me to just try it out and if i dont like it take it off and forget, and the possibility of knee damage does scare me a fair bit, as even though im young i feel even 1mm change in the seatpost high, i truly think this frame isnt the right size for me but its the one i have and i have to make it work, so yeah, im fighting th urge to buy it bcs is cool and i would love to try it and the dont but it bcs its expensive, idk if i'm gonna like it and even if at first i dont feel it, it could do damage to my body
@@jlrebor2626 I will also give you a preview of a video that I will be doing in a few weeks. I picked up a similar seat post from a company djc. I've only put about 25 miles on it, but it does seem very comparable. To the sun tour and it is under seventy dollars. Just don't tell anybody I give you the preview.L o, l.Thanks for watching
@@southernebiking damn i wasnt expecting this lol, i saw some chineese no brand ones go as low as 50 bucks, makes you wonder if its worth the try lol i saw some vids on them but the problem with those is that even if for one lasts 10years for other can last 2 weeks, kind of a problem haha
Good to see you’re out doing videos again I’m glad that you’re all doing well
@@frankhaag6232 thank you much, Frank. We do appreciate it. And thank you for watching. Hope you’re doing well as well.

@@papablueshirt thanks for watching. I think they only come in the 27.2 and possibly a 31.6 but everything else has shims with it.
Have used both spring and Suntour post. Prefer Suntour despite it’s cost. Got my Suntour from Amazon England for under $60.
