    I talked to Regner Cooling again yesterday and he promised to fix all the things pointed out in my video for production. That's for sure one advantage of the low volume production.

      let me add a few more points to your list:
      - wrong materials (expensive aluminium vs. cheap steel), most likely due to manufacturer's limitations (doesn't have a stamp press)
      - failure to take advantage of the expensive materials (powder-coated aluminium looks like cheap steel, no brushed/textured/anodized parts visible)
      - wrong choice of manufacturing process and tools (expensive prototype vs. cheap mass production)
      - a total lack of any innovative/cool/retro/luxurious/hipster/radical/unique/elegant/satisfying/high-tech features without which this expensive product makes zero sense
      - primitive construction with zero convenience features (e.g. captive screws, magnetic locks, tool-less assembly, cable straps, quick-remove filters, noise/vibration dampening, etc.)
      - missing rubber grommets in the cable holes - this could lead to fire hazard
      - bland and boring aesthetics that can't compete against $100 cases
      - wastes space
      - restrictive ventilation grilles with wrong hole shape (triangle vs. hexagon)
      - bad airflow design (too small vent areas, the bottom fans have no room to breathe due to too short legs, etc.)
      - they apparently didn't even read the ATX 2.01 specification (e.g. the PSU mounting/venting requirements), this screams amateurism
      - they are attempting to enter one of the most brutally competitive markets in the world without being able to define their competitive advantage

    • @arudanel5542

      Acrylic for 800? yeah, no. Already out. Feet are super low, so there's zero airflow from the bottom. No grommets for the cable holes. Zero cable management channels on the backside, 3D printed cover, no countersinking for most of the screws, and you have to hold the parts when installing them. Just all around overpriced and mediocre. I'd give them 250for it MAYBE, being aluminum. That'd be the max, the price is completely detached from reality.

      @@arudanel5542 I agree, there are lots of cheaper cases that have better features. But those are all mass produced and not made in Germany. One of the reasons why it's so expensive.

    • @TheBrain0110
      @TheBrain0110 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I suspect doing the double bends is very difficult with tempered glass manufacturing wise. Also might be hard shipping wise and not having it break. That said if it isn’t possible with this design and people really want tempered glass they need to know their market and do a design that will work with tempered glass. Most of the other issues seemed to be them being small and not having a huge design capacity.

    For fan/radiator mounting plate i would mill out a 2,5-3 mm recess in the plate, instead of countersinking as it's 5 mm thick anyways. That way both countersunk M3/M4 and regular dome based UNC screws will fit.
    If they don't have access to milling and want to lasercut it, then a slight redesign of the intake pattern is needed and you simply laser cut holes all the way through so the screwheads have space.

Their’s was glass but not tempered as a curve that tight couldn’t be made without it shattering during tempering. DeepCool CH780 is a better designed case. The only 2 issues I had was the opening behind the CPU was incorrectly designed, blocking 2 screw holes for the cpu mount and the case has 2 USB 3 cables but my mobo only has 1 connection.. The included gpu riser works great. A minor design gripe was that the glass panel is not easy to open and you has to open the top panel .(

    Its a badly conceived 200euro case (at most). Frankly there are better cases for under 150euro on Amazon. 'Made to order' is not an excuse when its just crap, however and whatever its made of.
    Having to charge 800euro just means you have a terrible business model.

    I rather have a magnesium case with tempered glass. Triple pane tempered glass is a better thermal sink then you'd expect it diffuses case heat much better than like ultra thin paper glass.

    At this price, you are approaching what a fully custom case would cost. I honestly think that Regner would do better to lean into the bespoke market more, given that the quality of the aluminum and the low-volume production in Germany means that they are never going to be competing with the likes of Lian Li or Corsair. They should also look into hiring someone with a good eye for detail, as some of the omissions seem really obvious and totally unacceptable for €800.

    The distortion from the acrylic is awful. I just don't see how they found that to be even close to an acceptable solution. It is going to be scratched and look terrible so quicly. Also the exposed screws while not an eyesore to me, are just begging to have scratches around them from a mishap with a screwdriver. Im not even close to the target market for something like this, but I think the people that are will expect much better than this thing offers.

    I feel like somebody in that company didn't do market research because I don't see why this case should cost 800€... It has just plastic instead of glass, nobody really cares it's made out of aluminum because it's still under paint so if they used some cheaper sheet steel it would be just as good. One thing I've noticed is that they have no grooves or mechanism for dust filters so, in few months your nice fish tank PC will be full of dust.
    If this was cheap under 150€ case then these things can be overlooked to a point. Paying 800€ for PC that is cutting corners is crazy.

    If this is too large to use tempered glass then that side panel better be polycarbonate for $800. I don't care how thick it is, acrylic is just not acceptable. There are a lot of things I do like about the case but they really need to consult with more experienced builders before getting this far in the design process.

      I like the idea of thick aluminum plates for the bottom and top, but these parts look like they've been laser cut, then immediately sent to powder coating without doing any finishing, deburring, or cleaning operations prior. There's some really bad burrs and specs of dirt or crap inside the triangle vent holes that looks awful, as well as incomplete coverage of powder inside these triangle cutouts. It looks like I cut these out and painted it with a rattle can myself. Zero attention to detail in the design or quality in the manufacturing, besides the material used, and even that is debatable.

    Is it better to keep the case fans and CPU fans at a steady speed for gaming or to create fan curves? If creating fan curves, what speeds or percentages should I set them to?

    • @Nightykk
      @Nightykk 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Whatever temps & noise you're comfortable with. The case, your fans, your CPU, and what not. Need some specs.
      When your PC is idling, depending on your case and what not, 25% is probably fine for most fans.
      As you start doing more you start ramping it up, again - with as much as you're comfortable with.
      Latest machine I set up a curve for, a Ryzen 5600 as a server, in a closet, I had case fans off at sub 30c (cause low idle draw), on at 30% at 45c, 50% at 55c, 70% at 65c, 100% at 80c.
      Though, in the case of that one, I don't ever expect it to actually hit 80c.
      Really depends. Also, if your fan settings has a delay setting - do use that. Yo-yo fans are horrible to listen to. I got all mine set to a 7s spin-up/down cycle, the instant drives me nuts.

    • @cyberchief4336
      @cyberchief4336 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For my PC, I do something along those lines as well - but, I do run 2x480mm custom loops, and unless I'm gaming something like Cyberpunk for a prolonged time I don't really need it to run higher.
      My PC's fan curve is something like 25% till 35c, 40% till 45c. and then rising quite rapidly thereafter - as it's not supposed to get that high anyhow.
      The fan curve is based on my water temperature though, which - with a 480mm radiator, doesn't usually get very high. Only once seen my water temp at 50c, and that's cause the fans, through GPU software, didn't get my fan curve at all, so they just turned off. Woops.
      Suppose you can probably do the same for a good AIO, with the CPU fan curve. Easier if you can read water temperature though.

    The ostentatious 'Regner Cooling System' badges with an ice flake logo I think is what irks me the most. There isn't anything new, innovative or different about the cooling this case provides. In fact, it's worse compared to similar cases - take the limited bottom clearance and the suffocating PSU. At least the boss case they made earlier featured a custom cooling design. It didn't work, but it did justify the badging.

    I think people say "oh it's plastic, that makes it cheap." Nah that stuff isn't cheap. To me it looks exactly like the stuff we used to use when making aquariums. It's perfectly clear, strong, the only potential weakness was the bond points for multiple pieces. It was perfect for making gorgeous fish tanks. Properly finished it came out looking amazing. Problem was it wasn't cheap.
    I worked for a company that made custom tanks, and we went under because of the acrylic costs. Back then? It was cheaper to make a fish tank out of glass by about 5 to 6 times - but you couldn't get those beautiful shapes that people wanted. That was back in the early 2000s, I suppose it might have gotten cheaper, but since nothing else has, I can't really see it. Unless they are sourcing the materials themselves, shaping, and finishing it themselves? They're probably getting fleeced by whoever their provider is.
    Not really surprising that someone said "Eh these are basically just fish tanks for computers, why don't we do just do it how they do?" Because it ain't cheap.

      You're out of touch on the manufacturing cost for acrylic. There's no defending the price based off the panel. Your assumption that everything has gotten expensive, so that means manufacturing is as well is flawed. Manufacturing costs haven't increased substantially, but ability and volume have gone through the roof. Corporate greed is what made this expensive, not production. Production is cheap.

    There NEEDS to be a LOT of improvements on this $200 case.... I can't believe that they ever built a system in this case before... such SIMPLE MISTAKES that ANYONE that has built a PC before would have noticed RIGHT AWAY!!! A simple chamfer/recessed screw holes and and 5mm longer screws would have EASILY been spotted if they attempted to put an AIO in their case and they would have ABSOLUTELY NOTICED that stupid mistake!! I could understand the ventilation holes by the PSU being overlooked because they may have tested a different style of PSU.... like just a no-name brand PSU... but how did they screw up the mounting screw position being 1mm to the side?!?! lol That is a UNIVERSAL MOUNTING PATTERN!!! 🤦‍♂
    - - they NEVER DID do a BUILD in the case, DID THEY?!?!? 🤦‍♂🤦‍♂🤦‍♂ smfh.... and I'm sorry it doesn't even look all that great... the bend in the acrylic was poorly done IMO ... you could see that the main curve wasn't done very smoothly... when you look through that bend (and there are components in the case) as you move your head you can see different angles, like it was bent in stages, whereas glass HAS TO be done ALL AT ONCE IN ONE SMOOTH BEND... and without any components mounted inside you cant see these bend because it's all white, so the distortions in the acrylic bend just don't show up very easily...
    - - - HARD PASS FOR ME, EVEN IF IT WAS ONLY $100!
