Thank you for mentioning the over-medicalisation of childbirth. 🙏

Thank you for being so honest about blinding.

Pity that no mention of blinding (as in the title of Dr Makaray’s book), was made during this podcast. 😢

Adults can go carnivore and not worry about allergies developing since that immune response happened decades ago. I appreciate all of the carnivores sharing their healing experiences. As Dr. Eric Westman said, “You wouldn’t know carbs make you hungry until you stop them.”

Look up the ingredients on most things, seed oils are EVERYWHERE. Packaged food is a non-starter for me, they are not natural, they are cheap and that's why Big Agra uses them.

Much of what is said in this interview is positively mortifying.

High natural- fatty foods are the best; ditch/dump the plant foods (with a few exceptions) - don't "eat the rainbow".... your body makes its own antioxidants

Whats wrong? They just tell you to take medicine and some are bad for you. Maybe 4 years ago my doctor prescribed blood thinners..well after a week or so i started having internal bleeding. I told her i was bleeding and she told me to stop taking the mini aspirins..

I liked this interview until it came to childbirth, my area of expertise. Standard hospital births, including in most birthing centers STILL cause a lot of unnecessary problems today! Please look into this area!!

HRT/TRT sounds like a net positive!
Would have liked to have heard Mark's thoughts on the Haven consortium. Why did the most prominent companies / executives in the world ( Amazon/ JP Morgan/ Berkshire Hathaway ) conclude they couldn't fix the healthcare-system? Perhaps a new "think"-tank for healthcare is needed.. Marty Makary, Mark Cuban, Elon Musk, Robert Pearl , Peter Attia, Bill Frist, Katherine Eban, Robert Whitaker, Patrick Soon-Shiong!
And now that Walmart Health is closing, what are the alternatives ? GoodRx, Mark Cuban's Cost-Plus? (The Direct Primary Care model seems kind of expensive, for ex. Peter Attia $150k/year , Chris Kresser, atlas md)
Regarding how 50% of GDP goes toward healthcare.. aside from transparent pricing, and kickbacks for the middle-men, what else could be done to fix health-care? How do you fix the Hospital monopolies (fueled by the Affordable Care Act / Obamacare)? I understand single-payer looks good in the short term, but in all the countries it's been used, leads to worse outcomes.
Also, the points made by Dr. Marty Makary sound similar to those of RFK Jr. Are there areas where Dr. Marty definitely DISAGREES with him on? Vivek Ramaswamy also suggests that government agencies start with the good intentions, but end up growing beyond that scope once their original mission is complete.
I understand the food pyramid over-emphasized Dairy and Carbs, and didn't distinguish between protein types (fish, meat, beans).. but what are Dr. Marty's thoughts on the USDA's fat/oil and cholesterol guidelines. Would have liked to have heard what specifically might be increasing Pancreatic cancers (2x in 20 years)?
Would love to see Dr. Marty have a friendly Covid talk on Making Sense with Sam Harris. Sam suggests that the time to question authority is not during the crisis itself, and that public needs to follow the experts / established institutions for vaccine, masks, school closures, origin story, etc. How does Dr. Marty reconcile this?
Regarding how science is funded/studied, I like how V.S. Ramachandran says it.. that in science you are forced to choose between very precise answers to trivial, boring questions.. OR imprecise, vague answers to big exciting questions.. but every once in a while, you hit the jackpot with a precise answer to a big question (ex. DNA).
BTW, I like the EMTALA idea of signing 'Didn't Read' when forced to sign under a medical emergency.
