All I have to say about this show is that it was incredible. Aside from the fact of the technical difficulties, they followed the rule of the show must go on. Yes it was hard to see Tim upset especially because he smiles a lot during the show and this was a turning point, although when they played this song during the soundcheck it sounded so perfect. All of the band members are really humble and down to earth. I've seen other bands getting upset and become total divas for things less than this and give a very poor performance. Tim on the other hand, came out to finish the rest of the song, and then went crowd surfing out of the blue. From my perspective it felt that he needed to feel the love of his fans, to connect to us, to let us and to let him know that everything was OK, that we didn't care, that we will enjoy the show no matter what. After that moment, the Tim that we know came back, he was smiling the whole time and giving the crowd the show that we wanted. Mistakes happen, it's up to us to decide what we make of them....

Honestly as much as I understand it, I think its pretty lame for him to not stay there and continue the other parts, or not spend the time trying to find the solution and if not continuing. To me it seems awful to just ditch the rest of the band. I've seen other smaller bands solve these issues on their own, or continue going through the motions rather than ditch it. Shit happens, and idk if he's just worried about how he'll look but noone would care, everyones gonna understand, better he stick with it rather than bail.

no one, stuff like this just happens. putting up a show isn't just pluggin a couple amps, and specially a Polyphia one. the important thing is that they didn't give a fuck and just kept shredding and sounded amazing anyways

Sure, what you said could be true, but, IMO, it is much more likely that someone (i.e., the sound technician/mixing desk/board) fucked up, than an amp or cable or monitor... But, hey, I could be wrong.
Since I see this has happened before, it could be the microphone. Do they bring their own mics? And traditionally, when an acoustic is setup like that, it's not front and center, its always off to the side. The location it is in means the microphones are in the direct path of the soundwaves from the drums. - this is why you often struggle to hear the singer as the soundwaves of the vocals is much smaller than that of the drums...

My guess would be an RF issue. They are playing larger spaces in busy parts of the city where TONS of RF is flying around. This stuff happens all the time. Looks like they are all wireless. Sound person here.
There were all kind of weird sound problems at the Phoenix show too. I think they need a more talented tech with them for their sound to transfer live.
Okay, this definitely sucks as a performer, but they did the right thing and powered through. It would have been SOOOOOOOOO fucking sick though if Tim had just realized the TOD wasn't live to the PA and then gone back to the 8-string and tried the acoustic pick with full-grease. I'm sure it would have sounded sludgy, but man....what if?!?!??!
That same venue had issues the next night for bullet for my valentine. Could not hear the singer for vended. Audio was very low. Bullet sound was super low. I’ve been to outdoor concerts that were louder. Cmon tech port. Get better. We don’t have much music venues in San Antonio.
Bro was there....first time I heard Chimera was at that concert....i think that the Tech Center might not had enough electrical support, because they didnt use any microphones to talk to the crowd. The line or a breaker connecting to the electrical nylon might have crapped out or surged or something, but idk. Concert was amazing though...had a good time. Wife asked me if they were ever going to sing...lol she's obviously not a Polyphia fan. Lol. I had to tell her that none of the songs they play dont have any singing. Lol.
They also had issues in LA. They played well but the numerous issues took me a bit out of the show. Sounds to me like they need to make some improvements in the supporting crew.

don't be so quick to call his tech dogshit. he's his tech for a reason and he knows how to run tim's gear better than anyone else. this stuff happens all the time and it's unpredictable. it can go smoothly during soundcheck and fail during the live performance. in reality, all bands have multiple tech issues throughout a tour. i speak from having a bit of experience working stage hand
