  • What is dog enrichment? A lot of people think of dog enrichment activities like playing with dog toys and brain games. But canine enrichment is so much more than just dog enrichment toys. In this dog enrichment video, we talk about what dog enrichment is and how to provide the best canine enrichment to your dog.

I’ve had my dog for three weeks and I’m doing most of the walking tips already ❤ I hate trying to figure out the route we’re going to choose when we go on a walk so I just let her decide

This video is legitimately good content.
Society would be a better place for dogs if more people would give the animals perspective more thoughtful consideration and make more of an effort accommodate them accordingly. Humanity is quite fortunate that dogs are generally such selfless and adaptable souls.

Jenna - this is one my all time favorite videos! Thank you for making it :) I have sent this to several people who have asked me about dogs getting into things.

Enrichment ≠ replicating how a species would live or lived in the wild.
    Those are two different things.
Enrichment has to do with what you say about stimulating species' senses but it can be done (depending on the species) without necessarily replicating their wild habitat. This is especially true for dogs.
With that being said, it is very recommended to replicate captive animals' wild habitats just like you said, I just wanted to say those are two different things and doing one thing doesn't mean you're necessarily doing the other or that you must replicate their wild habitat in order to environmentally enrich a species.

I think you might have misunderstood what Jenna was talking about. They talk in more depth in the book she references but it's about providing ways for the animal to practice their natural behaviors that they would practice in the wild, not replicating the exact environment.

Perfect example of watching a video but not actually listening to what she is saying 😂😂😂😂

As an animal rights person, and a secret subscriber of yours, I really appreciate that you mentioned bodily autonomy of non-human animals, and I really really hope, that someone like you would consider acknowledging the systematic exploitation and abuse that farm animals are currently undergoing, and extending the moral reasoning for them.

I agree with you, however, thats a topic for an entirely another video. That’s a whole another can of worms. It’s not fair to ask her to deviate from the topic of her video.

      By hand. Try it.

@@Joseibruc I’ve fed by hand many times, especially my senior who I lost in January. I was asking about a kind of enrichment feeder for wet raw food, as most of the info seems to be for kibble feeders. Since I wrote that I’ve gotten her a slow feeder bowl for meals and that takes more time and effort :)

I disagree. I the beginning dog like creatures [not wolves] tracked big prey, hunted it till it turned to confront them. The men caught up and killed the prey with thier sharpened sticks [spears] , Then the humans cut up the prey, giving some to the dogs, and eating some themselves. Taking some back to the kids, etc, including young puppies, nursing mothers and bitches.
