I was born and raised in Bavaria and I can confirm that our houses actually look like that! The Spanish roof trend is relatively new, but I think it is here to stay.
Lol I literally came to the comment section just to see if anyone had commented something about his voice, because I also finding it so soothing. Thank you for not disappointing me 🤣
"Decorate it with icing before you put it together so that it's flat and gravity works with you and not against you." You know when you hear things that are SO obvious and simple and you just feel like the biggest idiot when you hear it? Yeah. That just happened to me.
im like mind blown because my parents sent over gingerbread houses for my students now that i moved to japan and for the life of us it took us 2 days just to figure out these houses i spent extra time just trynna set it up i feel like an idiot
fruitoson I made a gingerbread house with my fiancé (an architect) over the week of Christmas and it was the worst thing I had ever seen. It was a lot of, “There’s no structural integrity with this icing,” (he broke the icing bag by squeezing it too hard) and he kept eating the gumdrops off of the roof. It was really funny.
In Seattle for YEARS architects around the city compete in making gingerbread creations. They take months for planning and preparation. It's part of a fundraising thing. And when it's all over the gingerbread castles, hotels, ferries, you name it, are on display in the lobby of one of the fancy hotels downtown. They're awesome, intricately detailed, very original. I've brought my kids almost every year. Probably not around this year though...
Okay but can we talk about how obscenely adorable he is? Because I was just sitting there like “that is full on husband material and my family would love him.”
Watched this after Christmas, thinking it would make me feel shit about our ginger bread house this year, but it was wonderful! I make up narratives for random strangers, love how he made one for the gingerbread family.
Lol too cute I mean my family makes ginger bread houses each year I like to make homemade but if you do the box ones please buy 3 or 4 this chef is not joking lol and just have fun.
His job is a food stylist that specializes in Pastry. Leading me to believe. He is a pastry chef working as a food stylist. Not all chefs hold kitchen jobs.
Where was this video when I had to do a gingerbread house with my 4 year old cousin and her getting mad at me because it didn’t look like the one on the box that comes with
So, I am poor. I cannot buy another one. I bought a pre-put together gingerbread house and the factory workers out it together wonky. But to fix this, I will put it in the microwave, let the icing soften, and pull the pieces apart, let the icing re-harden on the individual pieces ( so that the soft icing doesn’t stick to everything) then do the icing details with it laying down. Also, I am totallyyyyy doing that door and window and lighting it with the light I used for my jack-o-lantern. I will update with how it goes.
see make ginger bread jack lantern. I seen people stack wood make 3d wooden punkin. if do that then super easy take apart trace on ginger. should 3d ginger bread punkin. should ice together hard part carving it. only thing think is use a dermal or rote zip be careful not cut self if don't rote tools alot.
I’m glad I kept watching after the first few minutes, because boy did he make this sound like it was going to be a pretentious and condescending video. The actual video after he was done being ~*~*~horrified~*~*~ by a store bought kit was fun and helpful.
yeah if they wanna spend 12 hours making a gingerbread house...the reason that normal peoples never turn out is they rush to do it as quickly as possible.
“This is a Spanish tile roof...they went on a trip after the roof collapse “ 🤣🤣🤣
Amy Speers they used the insurance money to take this trip 😳
I’m the 1k like :))))
I love that he created a narrative for the family!!
It's really hard to be a homeowner. Especially in Bavaria.
@@Johanna.EG. It should be rather easy this winter. It only rains ... 😉
@@Onda_Wilde Oh ... I guess the Spanish tiles are for that, then. Damn! Happy 2020.
@@ValeriePallaoro Oh - I see 😄
Happy New Year to you too! ✨

But do you do it before or after the roof colapses?

I could listen to him all day. His voice is soothing.
i thought he kinda sounds like Tina from Bob's Burgers! lol

He needs an asmr channel
I actually almost fell asleep😂

Rachel M. Omg yes
Me too! 🤦🏾♀️🤣
Well said 👏👏👏😂
But then you need to wait eternities for it first to dry. Got no patience for that

Love how he wasn’t an over the top loud trying too hard person, this was very calming and enjoyable
Love this! Really like his calm away of speaking rather than being loud and over the top.
xxxxmemoriesxxxx ASMR or gingerbread house decorating? Maybe both !

“It’s really hard to be a homeowner.... especially in Bavaria.”
now make an architect do it
Lol hahaha great idea😂

Ron Swanson has already taught us that architects can’t do this.

Professional Pastry chef: this is what I want the shape to look like
Me: but what about the roof
Professional Pastry chef later: oh no... the roof
This happens when you let professional craftspeople do whatever comes to mind! 😊🙌
It turned out fantastic. It is a good idea even to buy at least 2 kits, because there is always one broken piece.
“tpin “ lol i use those when doing dissections, surgical pins my bro they rock for everything
I used those when I made costumes and millinery for the theater! I guess they are multi-purpose little suckers!
I used them to pin down a woolen blanket when I was trying to block(stretch) it
we use them to stick hair on a doll head in cosmetology school, brilliant idea to use them for gingerbread houses tho
megan I use them to torture baby mice
I can tell he really put his SOUL into it!
Okay but can we talk about how obscenely adorable he is? Because I was just sitting there like “that is full on husband material and my family would love him.”
He is adorable.
After years of struggling with making gingerbread houses. I bow to you sir.🙇♀️
Making a gingerbread house is kind of hard!
Ngoc & Kim ...yep, the things we attempt for our kids 😆
You've built a magnificent ice castle. I bow to you Queen Elsa
Loved that he improvised & that he had a fun time doing it!! He was all smiles the entire time!!!
How much is rent? I can go as high as 30 marshmellows
Imagination! What a marvelous thing to posses :) Do NEVER lose the magic.
“This is obviously where the swimming pool goes”
Me: wait SWIMMING POOL?????
I haven't made a Gingerbread house in a few years. This just made me wanna make one. Great video!
I did dit the first time, without this instruction and it was hard..
Same!
I love him! Have him take on more challenges please!!!
I’m glad I’m not the only one that makes narratives when making gingerbread houses, with my kids
ahhhhh his voice is so smooth and he’s so chill
OMG this is so beautiful, he is amazing, I am so inspired, please bring him back every Christmas, this was absolutely magical

Adding the lights was a great touch
He seems like a genuinely nice person♥️🌸
I really love his voice! and the glass door idea is genious! Happy holidays NYT Cooking
I love how he went all story time with it!
Love this idea. It really looks easy to follow . I have never done a gingerbread house in my life. Thank you so much for the ideas
Lots of good tips. I also decorate the pieces flat and let it dry overnight.
Spanish tile 🇪🇸!!! Yay!!! In Spain we don’t have gingerbread houses but the holidays are amazing!!!
Loved the story behind the roof!!!
Le quedó preciosa la casa, felicidades, muchas gracias por compartir.
He needs a TH-cam channel 😭
A tip is if you need “snow” sift powdered sugar onto your gingerbread house
Please do more videos with him!

that candy glass window trick blew my mind! so cool!
So wholesome
Adorable!
I LOVE this narrative he created for the family 😂
I would watch this dude work for hours, I don't mind...
so many tips that would be useful for contestants on the Great British Bake Off
I loved the story of the family.
Perfect presentation ..
Cool ginger bread house mine never turns out nice 👍🏽 🎄🎅🏽🎁⛄️
This was awesome to watch 👏 very well done!
Great job! I'll have to try that truck with the jolly rancher next year😀 Happy Holidays🎄
I need him on my team for the next family contest.
Eric Lewis That’s cheating!
Please tell me you guys have a channel posting for your family competitions? Please???
Golly!! You guys have no content!! Please put competitions there .. your (soon to be) viewing public requests it. Happy New Years to your family!!
Who knew gingerbread creations could go so far
He reminds me of zach from the try guys but a calmer one
I'm in love with his voice😍😍
It is possible to make a store bought kit look AMAZING🤯🤯🤯
Since the gingerbread house is in a cold area (icicles and snow on the house) change the outdoor pool to an ice skating rink ! Looks like one already.
Lovely 💕
Go Jason! Woo Woo!
This was super cute!
I would've done mine way differently but it's still very creative. 😄👍
Looks beautiful! Good job.
I can’t believe I sat here and watched the whole thing.
This video was everything I wanted
Awesome, looks great!!
Gotta try to make a gingerbread house next year! ☺️
I just put all the good candies on so i can eat them later
Nice job. Learned alot
Very cute !
All those spare pieces of Gingerbread, it's a Gingerbread Mansion!

Awesome video, thanks for sharing, big like from me 👍, fully watched !!!
Loved this vid! So charming ♥️
Love it, I want to move in it.
YT title: Pastry Chef...
Me: expects Claire from BA test kitchen.
I would die for Claire from the BA test kitchen
Why does the title say pastry chef if he’s a food stylist...?
The only TH-cam pastry chef I know is Claire from Bon Appetit!
His job is a food stylist that specializes in Pastry. Leading me to believe. He is a pastry chef working as a food stylist. Not all chefs hold kitchen jobs.
Kelley Cooper they’re probably also purposely using the title of pastry chef to get more views from people searching for Claire
@@dreamynights I agree they are wanting views based off search words.

You are too funny!
1:42am, sobbing, watching a man decorate a gingerbread house
Now I thought I was a good gingerbread house decorator
I used to make my gingerbread houses out of left over(gross) Halloween candy ( thrills and rockets make great tiling)
see make ginger bread jack lantern. Here he is making actual windows and I just used lifesavers for sort of round window ish stand ins
Food stylist
Hmm
I like that
He made a red door but in the assembly door is yellow - looked like toasted marshmallow?
I need to see the gingerbread family. Maybe one of the parents is Spanish?

I don't think we want to know what's in that icing....
Better then my decorating skills lol
Is anyone else scandalized by the amount of plastic waste in these gingerbread house kits? Especially the pre-built one ensconced in bubble wrap.
willcwhite totally
He didn't use melted sugar to fit the pieces together! That's not a gingerbread house, but a gingerbread shack.
You should let an architect or some similar occupation
Any school kid can do this and more!! You don’t need a chef!! I’m literally surprised at the comments!
