Well it's not even his song. He probably doesn't know it well enough to feel comfortable singing it off memory alone. I agree it's kinda disappointing seeing singers do that but I totally get it nonetheless. It's not a super big deal..to me anyway.

@@MetalDeathMusic Seems like Mike does that sometimes, he did the same 2 years ago when they played The mask slips away, I personally don't have a problem with him doing that nor do I feel disappointed, it may be as finalbeta said and he must not really feel comfortable with the song yet and prefers to read some of the lyrics to not screw up, or maybe they are kind of busy with their new album since they did say they're releasing it in early 2020 iirc so there's the possibility that he didn't have enough time to fully memorize the lyrics of this song, well who knows, still an amazing performance.
