I have two things to say here, the latter of which I really do hate to say:
1. I believe the Fender Hot Rod Deluxe III is the best sounding clean amp Fender make.
2. I also used to think it was the best clean sound I'd ever heard (yes I did just say that), but now this 2555X has taken the top spot - it sounds bloody fantastic!

I heard Session's video on this amp too. It sound killer, maybe even more than the JVMs, but I wish one of them had played with the eq because I can't tell if that guy just likes his tone super thin and trebly or if the amp is just voiced that way.

I had an original '87 Jubilee, fantastic amps. Only replaced it with a Friedman or I would have still used it. It's really a 1 channel amp, VERY difficult to have it set up to have both channels useable at the same time

I chose a 6100 head because of this, but, nothing but bills and trouble with it..... once in a while I think that i should have chosen this one.

I actually built this amp from the scematics and you will be surprised to know, it uses diodes to get that distortion.

Not all of it. The diodes do add extra dirt but it still uses a Valve Preamp.

That's why it sounds like this.
Some manufacturers boast that they do not use diode clipping, cause it's like cheap gain boosting, but actually sometimes it sounds good.

If you built it then you'd know the diodes are switchable and called "Rhythm clip" they're not always on when on Lead master.

so they reissued it that way.

Sounds like a JCM 800 with a tube screamer.
Which I don't like either.
