    I like this move, because it shows that Marshall is listening to what the customers want and are aware of the trend that many people are going away from massive 100W amplifiers, cause you know, PAs exist in almost every venue. Great stuff!

    • @WhoWouldWantThisName
      @WhoWouldWantThisName 5 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Yeah, I really don't know why there has been so much focus on big, powerful amps so long after the invention of the PA. So many great classic albums were recorded on smaller amps at lower volumes. Even when they did use the bigger stuff isolation rooms were necessary to crank them up to get that sound they wanted. Lower volume options are always in demand because even if you play loud on a stage, you need something you can use at home, on the road, maybe in an office or wherever you have other people to consider, plus your ears will thank you.

      Been wanting an 800 for a long time but for various reasons havent done it. Now is the time, i think. Studio vintage is right up my alley. Ive played in small clubs for years and even the small clubs have PA's and im always miced up. So lugging around a huge kit always seemed kinda pointless.

If you knew guitar it’s as obvious as the nose on your face that Pete is the most accomplished player that does reviews at ANDERTONS. Bea is far more diverse than Rob and close to Bea. Pete’s biggest gig is playing in the incredible Britain has Talent. Just like American Idol you catch yourself thinking the contestants are singing to the track from the album without vocals. I take guitar lessons from Bob Balch of FU MANCHU (he plays through a old 800) I brought in in to his studio and asked for his honest opinion. These Amps are really great in my opinion. A wonderful idea. I played last year a very old amp of the mid sixties, and if these amps bring it back, great!. Off course you need to have pedals in front, as in these times, however that should work. And 20 Watts Tube Power may not be enough for an open air gig, however we have powerful PAs these days, maybe it works.

    I'm a huge fan of this idea, make the amp as simple as possible, no gimmicks and no extra garbage, just great simple tube technology. There's little market for 100w heads, make them small and simple, get a great tone and then throw a couple pedals in front. Hope these do well for Marshall.

    Marshall definitely did a great job with these 20 watt versions of their most iconic amps. I got 2525H and I’m loving it. However I do think there should be one more amp included into the studio series. I think a 20 watt version of the JVM would be awesome. If they did it they should call the studio modern. I’ve played the 50 watt head through a 4x12 with Greenbacks and the tone had me grinning from ear to ear. If they could get a 20 watt version of the JVM that would be superb.

    you know its good in the hood when everybody just fking around and having a blast and the product speaking for itself, not like "now we have to find a reason someone should buy this product" mentality

    You need the red and black snake skin versions, they look very cool.

    So I have a jtm45 reissue with a master volume mod, so I'm guessing I don't need the sl59, since they are about the same, but maybe not?. But that combo looks awesome. May have to try it and plug it into my marshal 2061cx 2x 12 cab. So torn. I love Marshall amps, especially vintage sounding ones.

    It's funny... I thought I was more excited about the new Telly Acoustic because I love the melding of acoustic and electric worlds... But having heard these I am far more likely to buy one of these this year. Want the cab cuz its a cab but I play more at the Cab volumes so, maybe...

    I'm liking the Plexi. That's what I'd get if I had the scratch. $1299 USD. Reasonable price... but hard for me to come by.

    Are these going into full production? If they are a limited run I may be in trouble cuz I have to have one...

    Please make a comparison between Marshall Studio Amps (20w 1959)and the Blackstar ht20 MKII, would love to see how much they sound alike

    anyone know if the SV20H will be quiet enough for some moderate bedroom noodling? and then also for gigging?

      sgmarshall3 low input crystal clean was a cool surprise too. Unbelievable clean on humbuckers for 20w amp... Marshall transformed into god form or something.

      @FilippaQ - If you demo one, something tells me you're going to plug into the low sensitivity channel with a Big Muff Op-Amp pedal in the front
