American Bible Belt Dancers are going to be Evangelical Protestant and thats a WHOLE different vibe from Canadian Catholic... I think its a cultural balancing act...A woman being a dancer can only be seen as acceptable and proper young lady if their art is completely in the service of god and church. That's how i interpreted it. But i like your perspective, wjere dance is almost like the ton 😂 or at least serving a similar purpose as "entering society"
minimum wage in tx is still legally 7.25, but in practice i think it’s about 11-15 an hour, so to be a DCC and only making 15 an hour is crazy, i made 16 an hour including tips at a coffee shop in texas 😳
I was in an independent fundamental baptist group in my early 20s and many women in my age group would get married like right out of high school. A lot of guys in the group who would pursue me and just kind of figure me out I wasn’t attracted to and I would rather die alone than be married to a guy I don’t wanna have sex with just because he’s a “godly man”
nah it’s not a dance thing. it’s a southern thing especially in texas. but don’t get it misconstrued bc there are DCC that are other religions or aren’t even religious at all
