Does everyone think that the 2010 set would of been better with a Kit Fisto included with the minifigures as the episode lair of grievous included him fighting Grievous
@Mike McCokiner I completely agree, I have the Obi-Wan and a pretty similar (maybe the same) Grievous from the wheel bike set, and while the Utapau clone is a pretty cool figure, it's really the only thing that appeals to me in the set and definitely doesn't justify the price. I feel like $60 would be a lot more reasonable, and if they want to charge more at least throw in a couple more figures
I’ll never understand the logic behind making the 2020 set 80$. Many, many more people would purchase it if it was, say, 60$ and I have to believe that they would make WAY more money despite the lower cost. Same goes for them not making more fan-requested sets like the 501st battle pack, ones such as another gunship or a Mygeeto battle where they would make a LOAD of sales more than the 37th Luke’s Landspeeder remake...
Prices of making this stuff has gone up, lego said so themselves, hence the price jump. Also all the remakes according to a Star Wars designer are meant for newer kids getting into this hobby rather than current fans. The Star Wars designers also mentioned once that what they make can’t be too obscure of a thing, it has to be recognizable for kids in some form, they can’t make everything
Well clearly, lego IS making more money off of Luke's landspeeder remakes than they would off of a set based on a battle that most kids (majority of lego buyers) have no idea what it is. We gotta Look outside of the tiny, 0.5% of hardcore lego fans like us that are on TH-cam, and see that most parents (and many casual kids, who are or arent huge star wars fans, but love toys) will recognize a Luke landspeeder from the most iconic movie ever, and buy it because of that. Lego is smart and knows their customers, so I'm sorry, but lego will sell a bunch of $80 Grievous starfighters, otherwise they wouldn't have been confident enough to put it at such a high price. Most people will just be like "guess this is the price of toys now" and buy it cause they or their kid loves Grievous. Most people dont analyze and keep track of stuff like price, piece count, and set value like we do.
@Piano Experience I prefer the look of the tan and brown. I feel it's more accurate to the actual ship compared to the orange color in the new one. It's also a nice nod to the original lego set
The 2007 Soulless One was one of the first ever LEGO sets I owned (alongside the AT-ST from that line). I lost the General Grevious figure really fast and always wondered where it went. It made me so sad because I loved him and always wanted him back.
I actually have grown fonder of the 2005/7 version of Grievous for two reasons. 1) The body parts (specifically arms) of the 2010 and 2020 Grievouses become really loose, and limit what you can do with the figure. 2) The 2005/7 (specifically 2005) actually comes with his cape.
I don’t mind the figures it is disappointing but at least they didn’t reuse the 2005 obi wan but in my opinion the problem is just the price it way to expensive but other than the price it is a great set
I feel the airborne trooper doesn’t get enough credit. I think its a great minifig. At first, he does look odd, with the beehive helmet, but when the Fallen Order game came out with the purge troopers using the same helmet, they do look pretty cool. I decided to look for some on brickowl/bricklink/carousell, for them, along with the regular 212th trooper. I wish they also made a purge trooper battle pack.

One thing I actually prefer about the original Lego Grevous fig is that it’s capable of holding all 4 lightsabers parallel to each other which I think is a better look than the mew Grevous fig that always has to hold the outer two sabers at a 90 degree angle to the inner ones
I do like the feature to drop munitions from the bottom on the two later models. It reminds me of the 2005 Star Wars Battlefront where the Grevious' ship was used as the standard CIS bomber. Brings back great memories.
I like the first one for how nostalgic and important it is, the second for how compact and cleverly built it is and the last for how modern and accurate it is.
Just because we didn’t get Cody doesn’t mean the Airborne Trooper is bad. You gave way too much flak to the 2020 version for a minor detail on a figure, but failed to mention that the 2007 version’s back fin folding position is completely inaccurate.

It’s unique, it’s alien, and Legends Grievous might be my favorite character after Maul. That model, in my opinion, is hands down the best. Is it worth full retail price? No, of course not. Will I end up spending full retail price on it when it comes out? ...Yes...
Having the model on my shelf now, I can safely say that, while everything I said before is still true, there is a beauty to the design that cannot be conveyed through pictures or videos. It’s just so...smooth, and reflective. I don’t condone what LEGO did here with this set, but when everything’s said and done, they have the final say. I also don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to say that I owe them much of my childhood. Yes, they screwed up here, but, looking at other sets in this same wave, I could say the exact *opposite* about the new AT-AT, or the Razor Crest, or, heck, the 501st battle pack. I can deal with relatively minor issues here and there like the inaccurate Obi-Wan if it means we continue to get sets like those for years to come. You have a point, and this new trend of overpriced sets is...disturbing, to say the least, but in the end, LEGO “winning” might not be too bad of a thing in the long run. But hey, what do I know? Maybe a year from now, I’ll regret what I said here. Only time will tell.
Changes I would make to the new grievous star fighter set: -Erase the burn marks on obi wan’s torso -bring down the price to $40 -give obi wan a medium sized blaster instead of a small one -(optional) swap out the airborne trooper for phase 2 Cody and bump up the price to $50
Dave29 the newer ones don’t come with a cape, the 2005 grievous did. it was printed to look accurate to the cape in episode 3, with a really cool design
The 2007 Grievous is just way too nostalgic, and while the starfighter is inferior to the later versions, I think the value of getting a good starfighter with General Grievous for only 20 bucks makes up for it, I personally like the 2007 one the best, but that’s just my opinion.

2020 is by far the best fighter, but the price and minifigures are not good. As an overall set, I think 2010 is the best. 2007 is average across the board.
I know you won't see or care for this comment, but if you ever get your hands on the 2005 General Grievous chase set, you should review it and do a comparison between it and the 2014 wheel bike set (especially considering the 20th anniversary of ROTS)
The build is a the best by far but for the price? No, it’s way too expensive and there’s no new minifigs, all of them are from others set which are cheaper than this

Ah I had the one from 2007. I loved that set so much, the sliding cockpit windscreen was so satisfying to open and close and had a blast just running around swooshing it and making it crash and rebuilding it.
I don't think that the inaccurate Obiwan bothers us as much as it bothers you bc for me at least at the end of the day it's a cool Obiwan fig to recreate the fight and even if you don't like it kids won't care and you can also just bricklink a clean torso yk, that's just my op
The strike bomber has always been a nice looking and unique CIS ship. I don’t want to spend money on the new one because $80 is too much, but that 2007 model would at the least be a good base model to mod into a bulkier custom CIS Strike Bomber. I might have to see if I can get the 2007 set.
you are SO lucky to have the og grievous minifig in mint condition. It's way too hard to find one for sale that isn't either yellowed, or cracked or missing parts.
I understand why people don't like the 2020 minifigure selection, but there are people out there who don't think that the set is just about the minifigures. Inaccurate figures don't necessarily ruin a set.
If you put rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab it's good for rubbing off decals. Mask off what you don't want rubbed off with sturdy tape, in this case the burns on obi-wan's robes. Test it on unwanted figures if u want to be sure
I loved 2007's Grievous because you can't break him so easily and you can replace broken limbs with all the battle droid limbs that you've been collecting. Every Grievous I got since 2010 have been breaking easily and I can't seem to find extra arms and legs without having to buy another Grievous.
I detest the results of this comparison and will be submitting a formal complaint to the league.

I know you won't see or care for this comment, but if you ever get your hands on the 2005 General Grievous chase set, you should review it and do a comparison between it and the 2014 wheel bike set (especially considering the 20th anniversary of ROTS)
My favorite is the 2020 even with the down sides
The build is a the best by far but for the price? No, it’s way too expensive and there’s no new minifigs, all of them are from others set which are cheaper than this

Ah I had the one from 2007. I loved that set so much, the sliding cockpit windscreen was so satisfying to open and close and had a blast just running around swooshing it and making it crash and rebuilding it.
had that old Grievous figure as a kid but man looking at it now it looks like garbage lol
Nah it looks great, especially with the 2005 cape piece, the Lego Star Wars games made the figure good

I don't think that the inaccurate Obiwan bothers us as much as it bothers you bc for me at least at the end of the day it's a cool Obiwan fig to recreate the fight and even if you don't like it kids won't care and you can also just bricklink a clean torso yk, that's just my op

The strike bomber has always been a nice looking and unique CIS ship. I don’t want to spend money on the new one because $80 is too much, but that 2007 model would at the least be a good base model to mod into a bulkier custom CIS Strike Bomber. I might have to see if I can get the 2007 set.

you are SO lucky to have the og grievous minifig in mint condition. It's way too hard to find one for sale that isn't either yellowed, or cracked or missing parts.
I understand why people don't like the 2020 minifigure selection, but there are people out there who don't think that the set is just about the minifigures. Inaccurate figures don't necessarily ruin a set.

If you put rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab it's good for rubbing off decals. Mask off what you don't want rubbed off with sturdy tape, in this case the burns on obi-wan's robes. Test it on unwanted figures if u want to be sure
I loved 2007's Grievous because you can't break him so easily and you can replace broken limbs with all the battle droid limbs that you've been collecting. Every Grievous I got since 2010 have been breaking easily and I can't seem to find extra arms and legs without having to buy another Grievous.
The titles with info about each set are great! Keep up the innovation
