He turned into every major villain except Angelus though which is weird considering Angel showed up later this season to use the necklace which showed that contract wise he was allowed to appear on the show, maybe he was just to busy for this scene.

I'm so blown away by how the actors managed to pick up the feel and emotions of their characters as if they never left the show. Helps of course that the dialogue was so well-written. Only Joss can write something like this. I'd like to believe that he directed this one scene as well, cause only he can bring the old cast together again.

Warren - resentful mysoginy and banality. Glory - high camp Diva. Adam - technological and precise. The Mayor - folksy and old-fashioned (I'm sure he was inspired by David Lynch) . Dru - creepily intimate. The Master - oddly philosophical and high flown but with the odd contemporary slang thrown in.

Everything is called back to, Warren's sexism, Glory's arrogance, Adam and Spike working together, The Mayor being suprisingly affable, Dru and Spike's romance, The Master's just being so imposing and Buffy being last because seeing the woman he loves while he's like this would of course that would hit Spike the hardest.

Of course she won't understand, Sparky. I'm beyond her understanding. She's a girl! With sugar, and spice, and everything... useless, unless you're baking. I'm more than that. More than flesh... more than blood... I'm... you know what, I honestly don't think there's a human word fabulous enough for me. Oh, my name will be on everyone's lips, assuming their lips haven't been torn off. But not just yet. That's all right, though...I can be patient. Everything is well within parameters. She's exactly where I want her to be. And so are you, Number 17. You're right where you belong. So, what'd you think? You'd get your soul back, and everything'd be jim-dandy? A soul's slippier than a greased weasel! Why do you think I sold mine? [chuckles] Well, you probably thought that you'd be your own man, and I respect that. But you... You'll always be mine. You'll always be in the dark with me, singing our little song. You like our little songs, don't you? You've always liked them, right from the beginning. And that's where we're going... right back to the beginning! Not the Bang, Not the Word. The true beginning. The next few months are going to be quite a ride, and I think we're all going to learn something about ourselves in the process. You'll learn you're a pathetic schmuck, if it hasn't sunk in already. Look at you, trying to do what's right - just like her. You still don't get it. It's not about right. Not about wrong. It's about power.

First of all, many thanks to the actors who once again made themselves available for this sequence, especially to Mark Metcalf and George Hertzberg, who went through the complete makeup procedure again.
Then this sequence is the perfect reintroduction of the First Evil. It takes the form of all the main villains to date to show that it's not just another villain, it's the very concept of evil itself - then it takes the form of Buffy to say: now it's getting personal for the big showdown.

@@eyeseer1 In Buffy lore, you'd still refer to him as Spike's sire. If I'm remembering right, Angelus is referred to as Spike's sire at one point, despite Dru technically being the one to do the deed. Maybe spike had run across him or his thugs on the way in or out of town. But the fact that spike has a connection to all these villains is excellent. The master is tricky. I still think it's possible that David Boreanaz simply wasn't available for filming. He had his own show to film, and maybe he had other things going on in his life as well. Hell, originally they wanted to have Michelle Trachtenberg in the Angel season 5 episode The Girl in Question, but she was unavailable, so they used the guy who played Andrew instead. Sometimes this stuff happens and the timing doesn't work out for whatever reason.

The first said all the parameters are in line, also said quite a ride. The plan of The First started in the opening of season 6, when Willow returned Buffy to the living world, she returned, but in a new way. This bug of the system, allowed The First to discover who are the next slayers in the line, or the potentials, in that way, while Buffy was struggling with the dark times of adulthood, The First was hunting in terminator mode with the potentials.
We don't know how many potentials The First already ended by that months mentioned by The Master. That means by the beginning of season 7, the damage of slayer line was already made. This explained that Buffy and Faith were the last ones in the plan of The First, all the potentials must be gone at that time.
When Buffy did the spell at Chosen, we don't know how many slayers were, because we forgot that The First already busted a lot of them, also there is another weird sign of this, when Buffy was stabbed, she saw that a few of the new slayers were destroyed by the ubervamps, saddly Amanda was one of them, that explained why The First was careless about the spell of Buffy, this force knew still can win with the turok hans against the slayers.
But also the spell changed the plans of The First, now Buffy and Faith don't need to be the last ones on the list, now they can be destroyed as well. Maybe this is also something that we don't know, but The first did, the spell of Buffy linked her power to the other slayers, but this could be literal, that means if she is falling, the others too

Very complex season, according to Joss Whedom the last episode gonna be bigger, but they forgot to ask this to UPN, they aren't working for WB anymore at that time.

He's the prototype of the sociopath and caused so much damage and pain by killing Tara and generating dark Willow and I don't understand why people don't see him as a villain, I get it the villains were life and the plot twist of dark Willow but he represented the human villain you can also find in real life and I'm glad Joss included something like this because these types of people unfortunately exist in real life! And as the user above mentioned Willow wasn't dead although the First had the ability to show up as Buffy (don't know if it's because she died twice lol)....
